  • Hello guys! Today I will be adjusting the gear linkage on my Vauxhall Corsa 1.2. I was having issues with getting into gears, primarily first and reverse gear. The issues is easily resolved by adjusting the postion of the linkage.

      yes and leave the jack barely touching the frame so if the axle stand were to fail you would have a redundancy.

    How do I know if it's a linkage problem? ye it's hard to put the first gear in, but the reverse is fine? The mechanic said something wrong with the inside of the gearbox (common for 1.3l D). Also that it shouldn't be a problem to drive, but very expensive to fix.

      Aqib, this video is no doubt very good, and although another video shows how the plunger is actually inserted, by turning the metal union pc attached to the linkage, and then inserting the plunger pin, I too struggled with getting the pin in. After many attempts, I found moving the yellow plastic linkage arm was the only way to get sufficient movement to slot the plunger pin in. Sorted.

      @evieemaya88 Před 6 lety

      Soggy - Alan Dawson your car won't heat up until car is at operation temperature which is 90c (approx) what you can do is get the "hidden menu" up and one of them tells you antifreeze / coolant temperature on your dash. If your car is getting to 90c and it's still cold your heater then you have another problem.

    Can this be the cause of a jugger between gears 1/2 2/3 ?

      DiMzZ11 how many miles has your car got? Mine started juddering between gears at around 50k. Full clutch replacement and it sorted it out 👍🏼

      Dan Wright mine is at 104k but it was juggering like this since i bought it at 98k . I replaced the engine mount which is under the gearbox (middle of the car when u look underneath) and this helped a lot but still get a small jugger but not as bad as it was before

      @@millwallfan06 is it the plastic that’s attached to the reverse button?

    • @millwallfan06
      @millwallfan06 Před 3 lety

      Dean Wyatt yeah basically it’s a little bit of plastic that’s attached to the white part it’s a chrome colour and clips onto the reverse lever so when pulled up it engages the reverse did you have you’re snap too?

    My Mum's Corsa D has issues with juddering in 1st gear(water on the flywheel) but recently I've found in 2nd gear it sort of slips, judders forward hard and is then fine. Any idea what it could be?

    Hi Tom,
    Ey Bro i need a bit of your help,
    I know we have two different models, Mine is an Opel Corsa b 130i,
    Changing gears here is a nightmare, especially 1 and 2 , Issue being, worn bushes, between the linkage system,
    I bought a complete kit, but i am struggling to remove the black one that is in between the fork from the gearbox and the linkage underneath,
    There is a pin like bolt that i am struggling to remove, should i break that pin like bolt or is there a special tool for this,
    Best way to change these is....? >>Advice please, Another thing any ideas on how to change the gear oil and how to tell if its little or more,
    Thanks a lot,

    • @TomsDriveway
      @TomsDriveway  Před 5 lety

      Right, I totally understand your issue as I have fitted a new linkage myself. To be honest that is the real fix for the issue.
      Dont break it unless you have a new one. So basically there is a sort of bar that runs inside it that needs to be depressed and give it a whack while the "bar" is depressed. I'm assuming its probably dirty so that little bar probably will be hard to be seen.
