Found Dr. Weeks wonderful book a very long time ago. Many, many years ago I went through this same nervous illness with anxiety disorder. I did completely heal. Lived a very long life. Now, in my old age-because Of very, very difficult Stress -
Going through it again. Just so difficult. Going through with Dr.’s Help and medication. Dr. Weeks knowledge has been lifesaving.

Great talks, love that you're taking such a carefree way of talking about this because humour is so important when suffering from anxiety/panic disorder once you're on the road to recovery! I won't tell my whole story, just that I got better after reading this book while originally thinking it would only distract me for a while. I still get the occasional symptoms and the important thing ive discovered is while I know when they start I can't remember when they end; I believe this is a true sign of acceptance and leads to the loss of fear of having another. Not letting second fear in is another big ne but I'll let you discuss this in a future chapter! Thank you for putting this out there for those still on their journey to recovery...you will make it! 😉

    Hi.
I'm so glad you are putting yourself out there and talking about anxiety and panic, as there is so much clearing up and learning for most people on what these states are really about.
At the same time, I'm really struggling at the moment myself, and find myself impatiently awaiting to see if you have something helpful to say about the other kinds of nervous suffering than the "Most common kind". Because I have followed David Johnson's program and take on Dr. Weekes' teachings for close to 6 years now. And while it has helped me get back on my feet time and time again after a 'nervous breakdown', I think I'm still not cured and still suffering badly periodically due to a very difficult life situation with elements such as: being 33 years old, recently became a single mom with split custody with the father whom I'm having a very difficult relationship with, no university degree (the illness hit me as a law student and couldn't finish, found the teachings after I had to leave it), no job (due to difficulty finding suitable work due to lack of degree and a very difficult domestic situation), currently moving back to my moms apartment so no own home, lost my friends, and so on....
I'm thinking the teachings can only take me so far when there are other very real problems getting me back into that state time and again.
    What say you?

James Clear said the exact thing about habits, It's so difficult to build and even when you put hardwork and effort it seem like you are not making any progress.
But that's not true, habits are like bamboo, It builds itself up for 5 years and grows unbelievably tall in just 6 weeks.
Habits are like that, you have to build it even when you are not seeing any changes.

I really found your discussion on these first 5 chapters helpful. I realize they are from about a year ago, any chance you'll pick this conversation back up?

And also, since anxiety hit me so severely that I was never able to finish my studies and get a university degree, I'm having a hard time finding a job that matches my passion and my personal skills - or accepting that I have to take a job that doesn´t. And I'm wondering if this is something that Claire Weekes' method can help me with, if I have to seek out help for this elsewhere.
