In spiderman the 3070 would definely run better if it had more vram, it saddens me that nvdia a 8gb card for 500$ and still milking the crap out of 8gb cards
that is relative, you would have to set your settings even higher to even use the extra Vram, therefore defeating the purpuse. 8GB is ok. a 3060 has 12GB and never uses it
Nvidia knows exactly what games require now, and what they will require in the future
Them limiting VRAM capacity on newer cards is definitely strategic, keeping people coming back every gen
They could give us a 4070ti with 24gb gddr6 and that would tide us over for generations, yet here we are 😭
@@mrpatton01 No it isn't. 3070 would use that 16gb pretty well considering its not far off a rx6800 and that has 16gb of vram. Heck, being a PC, you can set vram hungry settings like textures, to max and enjoy pretty good image quality. Infact, you could even use HQ texture packs/mods. And the 3060 CAN use the full 12gb of vram. Especially in titles like ratchet and clank, FH5, etc. It can also use HQ textures/higher res textures at 1440p. Lastly, unlike the 3060, the 3070 was a upper midrange GPU, there's no excuse to cut vram on it. 3060ti was already basically an 8gb 3070 considering it was within 15-20% of the 3070.
Got 2080Ti for 1600$ four years ago, still a beast for 1440p gaming, not upgrading until GTA 6 release at least

some games, cant play without dlss on 3070 in 4k because of low vram, but 2080ti didn't disappoint me in 4k
its surprises me how well the 2080ti still performs till this day,running all games with decent graphics and framerate
I bought a 3070 on release by almost the MSRP and made more than twice it´s price in profit by mining ethereum while not gaming. So it was a great investment. Besides, it´s still holding strong on the majoty of games in 2023 with a bit of twek in settings. 2080Ti was an awersome card for it´s time, but it´s price wasn´t a good selling point in 2018/19.

3070 should've been 16gb. Cause I'm sure nvidia could've kept a 16gb 3070 for $550 without much issue. And the 3060ti was already basically an 8gb 3070. Would've given a better separation between the two.
The 16gb 3070 would've likely been not far off the rx6800 and thus would've put up a much better fight. Same vram, slightly lower performance, more efficient and much better software support would've likely killed the rx6800 and even lowered the rx6800xt's sales.

then go for the newer card, it is way more efficient
@@mrpatton01I would argue to go for the 2080ti as even though it’s older, it will age better due to the extra 3gb of vram. My 3070 already runs out of vram in 1440p. Power efficiency is not that important to most people.

did you even watch the video? despite 3GB more the 2080ti doesnt do better than the 3070 even in titles that require more vram. it just depends on the game engine whether the 2080ti has more fps or not
Bro... 7:54 3070 clearly runs out of VRAM that's why it loses by so much to 2080 Ti, same happens in RE4 and will continue to happen as games are more VRAM hungry@@ImperialDiecast
@@Radek494 yes, but for some reason in alan wake 2 or in ac mirage having too little vram doesnt matter. and in games where both gpus dont need much vram, the 3070 keeps an edge, like starfield or forza horizon 5. and in those games where the vram becomes an issue, its usually in 4k but 3070 wasnt meant for 4k, so in 1440p the differences are less.
