I’ve just been removed from my online classes for “not working hard enough”. I will now be expected to attend in-person, but I will not be, as I am often threatened, verbally assaulted, and have developed a severe phobia of my peers with the knowledge that a good number of them want to hurt me. (Our school administration is very well aware, they just don’t care about student safety; they tend to focus on drugs and sports)
The main problem is: I was denied my accommodations for “not working hard enough”.
My grades for the in-person classes I was forced to take averaged less than 30%.
My grades online average a 95%.
I am being forcefully removed from my online classes because I’m not working the way the school administration expects me to.
Disabled kids are doomed to fail in the US public education system because schools expect them to function as the “average student”- no matter the circumstances.
Sorry, just had to rant, but maybe someone has a similar experience with academic expectations.

I'm autistic and have ADHD. My math teacher would constantly expect me to be the same as the neurotypical kids, and would tell me to "try harder" and "just focus" to the point where I would cry in class.

This is why there should be HR in schools

Oh, teachers think that providing accommodations is frustrating and difficult?
Well imagine how frustrating and difficult it feels for us (disabled students) without accommodations.

When you have a late diagnosis it's SO MUCH WORSE. They all think you are fine because you made it this far.
NO, I have been compensating, faking till I make it, without making it, and now it has leveled up to a point where I CANNOT COMPENSATE.
SOrry that I f-ing EXIST, SCHOOL. Ugh...

desk dumping makes me want to puke if someone that isn’t the owner of a desk dumps it then they should get smacked upside the head that wouldn’t happen for me bc my ocd and adhd say “organize everything once a day or there are going to be problems”

8:05 i’m so glad none of my teachers are like this.
for example, one of my teachers sees that i’m doodling and walks over to see what it is.
i go to an “all girls” private school and my teacher’s accommodation acceptance is top-tier.
i understand that not everyone can go to private school, obviously, but public schools should definitely try harder to accommodate students.

hi, I have a request for your videos if you don’t mind. could you please put captions on your videos so everyone can understand them? I'm deaf and need captions to fully understand what is being spoken and I'm sure that there are others that need this as well. thanks!

That would actually help. Usually the tiktoks themselves have captions but it would still help

I have the captions turned on so you can turn them on. 💙💙 When i save the TikToks there must be the settings in certain countries, it doesn’t save with the TT captions?

@@OneSpicyDisaster The closed captions that exist are automated, which are a 50-50 for accuracy. Unfortunately, CZcams got rid of community captions, so people can't help caption videos.

Around the seven fifteen mark. Totally felt that one, I got a special PE exclusion for a severe now but then simply developing physical impairment and my high school PE people to the point it's not even with any of my present day records. Like I've pulled hair out over thinking I'd imagined that stuff at one point... it's not cool and it's seriously holding up my GED Efforts in the present...

Oh so is that why I was put in the lower class?!?! I’ve always been confused why I was since I did so well in school. But I guess the teachers didn’t trust my autism would handle the higher class. I fucking hate this world

My Spanish teacher is putting me in for the lower paper. I’m in the highest class currently and I consistently hit my higher target. (I’m English so my grades are done in numbers up to nine, a 4 is a pass)
I keep hitting sevens. My target is a 6/7. In the lower paper the MAXIMUM grade I will be able to get will be a 5. Bearing in mind I have been getting 7s.
Now, I get accommodations in her class. She prints off the power point slides for me because I struggle to write things down quickly so can’t do a lot of copying in the speed she wants us to do it in. I also struggle when she only says the answers to things out loud and doesn’t show them up on the board as well. Now, I don’t need to be put in the lower class because I would have the same problems and get the same grades. And that’s why I have accommodations, to help me learn in a way that I can function.
And I know for a fact that she thinks I’m stupid, all because I have extra time and accommodations, and she wants to put me in for the lower paper because of it.
I’m sick of having to fight to get teachers to let me get the grades that I know I can get with accommodations. I’m really sick of it.
