that's my favourite genre. but never expected to see it happen irl like this.
It's not dystopian at all, it's just what capitalism does, I can name you many other examples of similar situations such as this one that were funded by capitalistic enterprises and countries. But what it really reminds me of is the "Idiocracy" movie, where they use this Mountain Dew looking soda instead of water to do everything (tap water is replaced by the soda, they grow crops with this soda too) and once the protagonist makes them notice that they are wasting resources and using something that's bad for their health and they start using water to grow crops, the market stocks of said soda company start to plummet and people start losing their jobs, and this leads to riots and protests. Crazy right? Capitalism creates a problem and then fakes the fact that they want to find a solution to the problem that shouldn't be there in the first place.

I worked for shell for like five years making 15 an hour, They offered me manager possition over 15 times and I turned them down because it was only 16 an hour those cheap fucks.. Also I quit that place started my own painting company and im 10x happier.
