    The Mini Madgwick is a bespoke built-to-order road Mini inspired by the Swiftune Cooper S racers. Fitted with a 110 BHP engine and twin SU-Carburettors, making for a very lively drive!
    “Like a Mini Cooper S, Only better!” Octane magazine 2017
    The impeccably assembled Madgwick named after the famously challenging first corner at the Goodwood Motor Circuit the “happy hunting ground” of some giant slaying moments for Nick Swift in the works Swiftune FIA Mini.
    All Mini Madgwick’s are bespoke built to customers’ requirements ensuring that you really do have the most unique and exclusive Mini that suits you. We prefer to use original BMC body colours but are always open to suggestions. The choices for engine characteristics range from a smooth high torque output that is more suited to “in-town” use or an increased spec suited to the open road for the more “spirited” drive. Interior and trim are based on the original Cooper Brocade and high back seats but can be bespoke too. The Madgwick standard features are classic race door mirrors, leather bonnet straps, rose petal wheels, lowered ride height, all replicating our historic race cars.

    She’s alive. I thought that when the camera was wiped with blue tissue at 12:55 minutes the engine was going to be magically mounted into the car. Those guys at Swifttune are really talented and make it look easy, what a transformation.

      haha, i thought they were going to hide it being run on the dyno when the tissue went on the camera! 😂 They are a great bunch of lads.

    Showing my age I know but 1 and a half su s with BG needles and blue springs plus 649 cam was tops for 1293 race engines. John Rhodes managed to create tyre smoke with this set up.a company in Essex reputedly got a 970s engine to rev to over 9000 with the addition of a single downdraft Weber carb. Featured in either car and car conversions or hot car in the late 60s.had a 997 cooper and a 1071 and 1275 cooper s and covered some 140 thousand miles altogether in them. Great videos all of them. A good aid to assembling a head at home is a a drill press - preferably one you can lock in place at any point in it's travel to keep your hands free to install or remove retainers etc

    1380, sw5 cam and H4 carbs is a right setup! They absolutely fly

      @classicminiworkshop  Před 2 lety +1

      I've taken advice from Rhodri above and I think we'll dump the H4 carbs and put an SPI unit on it, much more period correct LOL

      Richard longman used split Weber's on his 1293 race engines. Other mini tuners then followed suite possibly broadspeed but I couldn't be sure. Rog

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  Před 2 lety +2

      Shell, engine, interior, gearbox, brightwork. Most of it to be honest.

    • @markdraper7
      @markdraper7 Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Robert, i had to obviously source the shell, then a block, head, crank, remote and gearbox as these are readily available. I source most of the bright work, door parts, windows and subframes and tanks. Pretty much as if i was giving them a fully built 850 deluxe in great condition. It was a hard slog getting some parts , especially decent brightwork. All the running gear is new.

      The engine is based around an FIA Historic race engine. Why should i dump the carbs? Your opinion is valuable.
