Alan Wake 2 Gets a Physical Edition, But There's a Catch

- After asking almost every day for a physical release of one of 2023's most critically-acclaimed games, Remedy have answered those prayers by finally announcing a physical release of Alan Wake 2, but with a catch or two tagged on.
Correction: the physical deluxe edition is not exclusive to the timed Limited Run deal and is instead being provided by major retailers. I should've done a little extra legwork to confirm if this was the case or not, and I apologise for that.
Dude it’s all good. I honestly couldn’t find it anywhere. They released very little info last night. Until the listings went live I don’t know if anyone knew
Jumped the the gun there. Understandable. It took some hours the next day when preorders went live to confirm the deluxe editions would be available through amazon, bestbuy, game, gamestop.
So does that mean that the deluxe edition is not limited when it comes to how long you have to pre-order it meaning you can pre-order the deluxe edition in August because I am really confused
Just to be clear: The "regular" physical game is a standard run of the mill and I can get it whenever I want to, am I correct?
@@sideskrollassuming there are copies available, yes. I’m in north america usa and here our options are: best buy and amazon. The versions they’re selling is the deluxe edition which includes the 2 DLC’s (night springs & lake house) plus some extra outfit and weapon skin goodies.
I haven't played the game yet because I was waiting and hoping for a PS5 physical release, and yes this is awesome news!!! I'm gonna get the PS5 Deluxe Edition. I already have the first Remaster game physically on PS5. Now I can add the 2nd game next to it on my self. Also I'm just happy that I can finally play this game in October when I get my physical edition.
I said "I will only buy it if there is a physical release" so i will stay true to my word and i am glad the publisher buckled and created one, all major AAA games should have a physical release. I am a little bummed ill be paying for a digital copy of 'Alan Wake Remastered' as i already own a physical copy as i am sure 90% of people do that will be after this game physically.

I’m getting it from Best Buy I can not freaking believe this!!!!!!! THIS is the game that put me on the warpath of hating all digital trash!!!!! I waited 14 years to hear the end of this story, now I can play this game.
The standard game version is being sold everywhere.
I'm getting the deluxe edition for both ps5 and xbox series x. I haven't played the game yet. I'm so happy the physical finally happened. I have the physical copy of Alan wake remastered for ps5 already.
Good chance that it requires drm and a patch to work out of the box
@@heart_of_a_daedra3649 We won't know till we get our hands on the physical. With LRG they normally do pretty good with the patches on the disc. But we will see. I ordered the deluxe editions for both ps5 and xbox series x and im planning a unboxing video in October once I get them when they release in October
I waited literally 14 years for this!!!! I haven’t even looked at a single frame of Alan wake 2 because it was all digital it all brand new to me
I like the idea of putting out a physical release once they complete all the dlc and can put that on the disc. As well as any patches that may have happened too.
2 months is a pretty big window though. It may not be on shelves, but anyone who wants one, should be able to get one.
The deluxe edition will be in stores. Not the collector's edition
Yeah but often unless someone is aware of the game (Due to being previously invested in the franchise) they dont hear about it till its due for release and reviews are out and by then its too late preorder window is up.
Yeah I reckon that limited run are doing the collectors edition only while the physical deluxe edition on its own is being widely produced. There isn’t anything on the website about the physical deluxe edition.
The fact it includes both games is pretty cool, most collector editions I think are over-priced but this seems fine
Usually you see the 200 dollar price tags come with statues, but the fact you get the lamp and it's an actual, functioning lamp is probably the stand-in for that and does more than your average statue.
Yeah i look forward to owning 'Alan Wake Remastered' digital to go next to my physical copy of the game i got back in 2021.
I don’t think limited run is doing the $80 physical version. I was on their site and there was only the collectors edition
Fkn digital. Release stuff on 5 discs if you need. Who wants digital let em have it, who wants proper physical let em have it. Release less copies if you afraid of profit..
Finally, I've been looking at this game on the digital store & nearly bought it.
I will definitely be buying the physical copy now.

I want it so badly. But I cannot afford it. I’m just gonna have to just stare at it knowing I can’t buy it.
They done f this up from the start. I watched the whole game on CZcams as being a physical only gamer there was no other way for me to experience it and it still felt kinda boring and all over the place.

100% buying the collectors' edition, I love this game so much. This might be the nerdiest thing I'll ever buy. I wish there was a PC one though, I don't even have a PS5 but I'm still gonna buy this lol

Why didn't they just launch a physical copy at launch? I would have bought a disc copy. They made us believe that the digital version was the only option and that was what I purchased, I am not buying the game twice. lol

At release on Xbox it runs better than on Ps5. How the game is running now on Ps5? Frame drops are fixing now?

If you wanted a digital only copy for PC you could have got that back in Oct 2023
