    I like the Capcom remakes because we get to see those classic games in a different way. The updated designs of locations and enemies is always awesome to see.
    Even though RE3R was lackluster in terms of gameplay it was still cool to see an updated version of Nemesis and Jill. While an RE1 remake most likely won't improve anything substantial it would be awesome to see new versions of the characters in line with modern RE games. A young Jill, Chris and Wesker to properly setup the RE5 remake.
    The creation of the first Tyrant also really intrigues me because one of my favorite design changes in RE2 remake is the Super Tyrant. I love how grotesque the mutation looks, and it was definitely inspired by the RE1 tyrant, so I've been really hyped to see what a new version of the OG Tyrant might look like in the RE engine.

    I'm all over a RE1 Remake. I think it needs it as it doesnt fit with the new/ modern feel of RE. 1, CV then 5 would be so good.

    Tank controls have been demonized by certain people all over these years when anyone who uses it for 20 minutes shouldn't have any problem. People not playing games and just watching reviews or gameplays has done a lot of damage to the industry.

      Always glad to see others who can point that out. It's amazing how many people are out there that are like, "These games are bad because they're old and outdated. We need a remake now."
      Thankfully quite a few grow out of that mentality, but there's also a lot who are stubborn and stay willfully ignorant.

      It takes me about 45 seconds of playing OG RE2 with the d-pad to readjust to it. I'm even one of the nutcases that prefers OG RE4's tank controls over the remake's modern ones, so I'm never gonna say that tank controls make a game unplayable. But, unfortunately, there's an enormous portion of the gaming audience who refuse to touch them because they've grown up with modern control schemes and just don't want to go back to the olden days.

      @@Shweelan There's indie like Them and Us made by one guy that allows you to play both in third person or fixed camera.
      Sadly Capcom are rushing and underbudgeting these remakes since they sell anyways because how is it possible for them not to do the same?
      Also, I can play any of the ones with fixed camera like no time passed. But somehow RE4 it's the one that's most difficult for me to adjust back even if I played it a lot back in my PS2.

    The real question is wtf did they start remaking with 2,3 and 4 and then stop?
    Obviously the logical choice is to start with 1. The illogical choice is to start with 5 because I loved that game.

    @g1rlygurl Před 3 měsíci +1

    I don't think it needs one either, but I'd be lying if I wasn't excited about the potential of a modern re1. Also, the remake gives them a chance to have a canon ending in the game, which REmake doesn't have at least (unsure about RE1 OG).

    As RE1 1996 is a remake of Sweet Home, this will be a remake of a remake of another remake.

    • @Shweelan
      @Shweelan  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I don't really think that counts, personally. Sweet Home was an adaptation of the film of the same name that's a party-focused, turn-based RPG where you fight supernatural monsters and have to manage things like party members permanently dying. RE1 might've started life as a remake of that game, but Capcom no longer had the license for it and had to massively change up the project to the point where it's almost completely unrecognisable outside of the setting and the genre. It'd be like calling DMC1 a remake of Onimusha because it took design elements specifically from the latter.

    • @mr.sinjin-smyth
      @mr.sinjin-smyth Před 3 měsíci

      Did you play Sweet Home? It's a top down turn based NES horror RPG that's based on a horror movie with the same name. So it's nothing like the 1996 RE1. Don't say such statements when you never played the game and it's history.

      @matthewlucent7645 Před 3 měsíci

      @@mr.sinjin-smyth Lol I have played it.
      Sweet Home never came out on the NES, it was Famicom only.
      RE1 started development as a remake of that game, but Capcom no longer held the license for Sweet Home, so some changes had to be made. LOTS of changes.

      @@matthewlucent7645 RE1 was originally going to be 1st person, but Capcom has no idea how to make it without being a Doom clone, until they took notice of Alone in the Dark (1992) and used that game's template to design and kickstart the classic era of Resident Evil and Survival Horror as a whole.

  • @Neckromorph

    Just like my view on the RE4 remake, a potential RE1 remake isn't necessary right now.
    Don't get me wrong the RE4 remake was pretty good and I had fun with it, and I'm sure I'd think the same about another RE1 remake. But to me the 2002 remake is basically the defining game of the entire series, and it still holds up pretty well, for the most part. I really don't care if it's over 20 years old, a remake can wait. Let Capcom use their time and resources for something like a Code Veronica remake. That one would make more sense.

    While I do think this will be good I’m kind of pissed off, capcom didn’t decide to wait to remake this game and do Dino Crisis first which is more deserving of a remake as I have wanted to play that game so bad but it’s only stuck on PS1 which I don’t have and most people don’t have anymore.

    • @Shweelan
      @Shweelan  Před 3 měsíci

      I don't think they're ever remaking Dino Crisis. The original PS1 release of RE2 outsold the entire Dino Crisis franchise. That's a serieswith historically no money in it, and I don't ever see Capcom touching that one again so long as they live.

    Remake this, remake that... can't these people come up with anything new? We all know the story, we all know how it's gonna start, we know the middel and the end, no matter how good trh grapics will be. Like most people say, graphics aren't the most important part of what makes a game good and we like to be surprised and experience something new. I'm so done with this remake culture. Make RE9 and do something new that might be influenced by the first game without it literally being the first game again. The only good remake so far has been RE2 remake and that only goes for the first part in the police station wiht Mr. X. RE3 remake was mid and RE4 remake was just a more boring version of the OG with none of the charm.
    Also, they go back to the first game because people were crying about RE5 being ''racist''.
