I really like your videos! They’re to the point without any BS and the camera angles are always superb! I’ve learned so much that I may start a small engine channel myself. 😐
Wow that is a nice running machine now. Great repair and diagnosis. Did not think that fuel filter would cause the bulb to not return to normal. Now I know. Well engineered and built machine. Thanks for the video's.
You may have done the deadliest sin by not checking the oil first BUT you did have a number of very useful tips for us viewers. Especially liked the use of the Lucas container for filling with oil and yes i would buy a this 4 cycle blower also
Had a Makita saw (first one) come in for a service roughly a month ago....was very impressed with how smooth it ran. I'll be curious to come across more of this equipment as time goes on.
I was surprised too, it’s a good filter system . Ask customer if he’d like to order a new filter, after you’ve let him know you cleaned it because you didn’t have a new on in stock. You have a good day too...
That is a Dolmar a German firm. They were once 🍊. Great machines. I sold a shitload of the Dolmar branded handheld 4 stroke. Lots of em to elderly or aging folks bc they are so easy to start.
The only place I ever see Makita power equipment is at the rental department in home depot. Im surprised that one ran that well it looked like it had been road hard and put up wet. LOL Good job buddy!!!
Dolmar,a German company, made power equipment for Makita... Makita acquired Dolmar a few years ago.. Now it is branded totally as Makita however it is no longer colored Makita blue,it is Dolmar orange.. I own several pieces of Makita/Dolmar equipment.. Well built, great performance, easy to work on..I'm not familiar with Makita 4stroke equipment so I don't know who makes that line for them..
that thing looks real beat up. I've got myself one of those makita 7660's and tbh its about as powerful as a stihl br600 but it works great! it is a bit heavy for it's power but the straps make it comfortable enough, not a bad machine. Edit: oh and one more thing. the oil fill measure is inside the crank case, it's that metal pole sticking up. you're suppose to fill it until you reach the notch that's on it. not the threads.
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 I just checked and the oil doesn't touch the bottom of the threads but it is pretty close so I guess the discrepancy isn't significant enough to matter much. 👍
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 the top limit is the little knock below the top of the post. And even the top of the post of quite a distance away from the lower thread. At least on my 7660. The second notch down is 100ml of oil the top notch is 220ml/7.4oz.
I have a 4 cycle troy built that will only run on choke. put on a new carb with primer bulb, cleaned the gas cap vent, adjusted the valves, even tried without a fuel filter. I have to go to half choke and give it throttle to keep it running, while putting on the backpack to use it. Quite the pony trick. Any ideas?
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 Look at the sticker on the recoil assembly cover. You can clearly see it in your video. Makita is Japanese but makes things all over the place.
I don't think it matters much if it was made in china, it's built well and seems to be able to take a beating. The thing with china is just that most markets choose to mass produce their products as cheap as possible and china happens to provide a huge work force for just that, but some companies will make higher quality products and happen to have them made in a factory based out of china. not everything made in china is junk.

Thank you for the video Jeremy 👍🏻
Great Video Jeremy. It’s always a carb check valve for my customers unfortunately. Great advice I’ll remember to check that first!!

Excellent repair mate!
I like the Lucas bottle tip, good idea!

You is da man.
Great video Mower Medic 👍
If that was mine I would run it for a day and then change the oil again.

Yeah man I've got myself the makita handheld and it starts so easily, I don't even need to choke it and it'll start on the 1st pull.
Great vid

Are makita tools as big in the US 🇺🇸 as they are in the UK 🇬🇧

Bottom of threads is exactly the same as the little post sticking up 🤷

Hello, can you make a video how to adjust carb on Makita eb7660th with single screw ? Thanks

That was an awesome air filter I can only imagine how clean the piston is
Good call, just a simple filter, they need a good service...
makita makes some good stuff. I think some of their 4 strokes are old Subaru varients, which were pretty good engines.
I heard one time someone said that those makita 4 strokes were made by subaru but i could never find anything to prove this.
@@benjaminleslie3155 Robin Subaru engines yup
I dunno the story to why they are under Makita now. One would assume a merger or buyout?
My bulb has started doing this and machine won't work. Will try this tomorrow. Thanks
My runs like crap when it’s hot I have to run at half throttle till it cools down then it runs ok
Blacker than squid ink!!
I think the manufacturer should change the color of the machine so we will know if it's a 4
Wanted one of these until I saw the made in China sticker. Makita can do better than that.
Makita is made in japan
