I like the part when Red asks "were you peeking at the oil pressure at all?" and then dude walks to the car to go peek it at after the engines already blown. lol lol you couldnt make this shit up. lol
Keep in mind everyone the car had mechanical problems so the tune couldn't finished, and there isn't one tuner out there that has a magic tune that they load and everything is correct. And I'm not going to travel over 1000 miles for a tune that's just retarded so stop recommending tuners on the other side of the country im in southern California.

What is going on? I tune my own turbo cars and daily them and I don't have these issues. I run 15lbs of boost on a stock K24. I don't think it is the build, I think these tuners are crap because most of them are. Oh sorry, too much ignition, pop. It's heartbreaking. All your builds are golden till you visit the "Tuner".You are better off getting an E-Tune by Jeff Evans. Yes, I'm in SoCal as well. As a side note, I would not run anything but E85 on a turbo car, the difference is night and day plus the added safety, so I'm glad you are on that. Stock rods don't let go at 285 whp. It straight detonated because the ignition was too advance for the temperature the engine was at.

Bro you could literally see the data during the pull. Timing was 21 degrees at 6 psi which is far from pushing it. The car was definitely not making big power when it popped. The fail had nothing to do with the tune.
Why would i take my car to pfi I'm not an idiot I would spend 3 times the price of my tune in travel
@@brettyh1 That is not a big deal normally, but when the engine is overheating it is. I have about twenty different maps tuned by notable tuners and I see zero that are running 21 degrees at 6.5 psi of boost on a K24. K24 engines require less ignition than say a K20a2.
@@Cloneufc The ECT were perfectly reasonable, the only alarm would be the rapid rise, but even then when you're on the dyno the car WILL get hot, and even then you want it to be hot in order to replicate when the car is being driven (not trying to make ideal conditions for numbers sake). The car was mid 190's at the beginning of the pull and when it popped was just over 200 F which is warm but far from overheating which would be 215 +. Regardless of your anecdotal evidence, this was a built motor running low boost and 21 degrees is NOT aggressive timing at all (unless you were on some real shit gas). But even if it was, a built motor is more than capable of handling a little knock on low boost. Shit happens bro, don't be that asshole who thinks everything is the tuners fault.

For sure I beleive it. I wanna see when I can take you the tsx again to maybe do the k20 head to it like you mentioned before so I can get a bit more power out of it. What's a good price on a head? I saw a prb1 with low miles from a k20z1 for about 400 down there in SD. Is it worth it Or is that too much bank?

yes i realised that once i took the engine apart and found out the blow by was burning oil from the bearing melting not the rings breaking in, hindsight is 20/20

I’m basically going with a similar build to yours and I already have everything bought and installed aside from the turbo, intercooler and piping. Did you need to fan your own shit up or is there somewhere I can buy a full kit that’ll bolt up

Did you check bearing clearances at all when you assembled?

There was never and audible knock, and yes all the clearances were measured by the machine shop

I recently got a k24, rsx subframe, and the wiring harness to k swap my em2. What motor mounts do you recommend I use? Everyone I’ve talked to has said about Hasport. Please give me your opinion. By the way, I look forward to more video on this build. It’s motivation for mine. Thanks!
I like innovative mounts the car is much easier to work on and hasport doesn't make a front mount
