  • The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is an incredible car. It's 2.9-litre V6 turbo engine has 510hp and it can go from 0-60mph in just 3.9 seconds. And in this video review I time just how fast it is, see how easy it is to powerslide and even jump it over a hill.

I’m coming from a bmw f80 m3, so my servicing costs have been covered by bmw since new, but that is about to expire with my warranty soon unless I extend it, but that is pricey too. Alfas are very rare in my parts, with a dealer ratio of more than 2:1 when compared with bmw, and indie shops that can work on them are even fewer. Back when I bought my m3, I tried going to get a test drive in a QV, but they wouldn’t allow you to even sit in it unless there is a non refundable deposit or a contract signed… I got cold feet and did not follow through and ended up going bmw instead 🤷‍♂️

    Hazard lights is to let the driver behind you know that you are going hard on the brake. Allso on highway when there is a traffic upfront,youre driving 120kph and have to break to 30kph the driver behind can not see how hard you brake sinds the brakelights dont have levels to show hoe hard you go on brakes. For that reason alot of drivers put on the hazard lights manualy to show the driver behind that they are hard on brakes so they have to brake hard to. So thats a good option from alpharomeo👌🏼👌🏼

    My biggest question related to new cars is why doesn't this car sell? Not the quadrifoglio, because it's really meant to grab press attention and be a marketing tool, but Alfa needs to sell volumes right now and somehow, people aren't buying the normal sedan and I just can't figure out why the hell not? Perhaps it's because it's quite high priced for a new player with questionable history and reliability issues, compared to it's rivals. But still, if I'd have the money, I'd get the Alfa. Hands down, the best looking sedan today. And I'm a big BMW fan and owner, yet I'd take the Alfa without blinking. I really do hope sales pick up. I don't want Alfa to vanish into history.

    • @andreamoroni97
      @andreamoroni97 Před 6 lety +3

      mowglilp Because people want an image where they look richer than what they actually are, and BMW, Mercedes and Audi are just what they want, a "rich looking" car for posers (the majority) unlike smaller brands. If people didn't think like that (and that german cars are just automotive perfection and the rest is nothing) and wanted for real the "best" car for them most of them wouldn't go to buy it choosing by popularity and myths but would consider the rest of it, but of course it is much cooler to have four links on the front grill compared to the historic (and it is historic for real) one of Milano (but I have to say that I can see in my area quite few Giulia and Stelvio and Alfa Romeo in generals, yes it is Milano's hinterland but it isn't like in Torino where a non-FIAT car is rare).
      Alfa Romeo's history is all but questionable (apart for the 80's, when just the engines won in many racing series), it has a great history, it won the first automotive championship ever in 1925, it would have won the 1950 and 1951 F1 constructor championship if it wasn't introduced in 1958, since they dominated them with the 158 and 159 (with Farina and Fangio); so, it has won in the 50's in F1 and rally, then in the 60's (when BMW copied the first Giulia for making the 3 series) with 6 ETCC titles, then in 70's with the prototypes (dominating the 1977 season), it destroyed the germans on their own turf in the 90's (where the germans kept to change the technical rules to defeat Alfa Romeo, then there's Singen 1994, karma that now DTM is slowly dying) with 155 and 2000's with the 156 again in ETCC; it is a brand plenty of victories since 1913 (still not as many as Ferrari, McLaren, Porsche and Ford), it has produced great road cars through the years and from it two brands were born, Ferrari (from 1929 to 1947 Scuderia Ferrari used Alfa Romeo cars before using in 1948 the 125 F1 and before that Enzo was an Alfa Romeo driver along with Antonio Ascari, father of Alberto Ascari, "el negher" Giuseppe Campari and Ugo Sivocci, the man of the famous quadrifoglio, and considered Alfa Romeo as a mother, infact after Silverstone 1951, with Gonzalez winning on the 375 F1, Enzo said "Today I killed my mother" on Ferrari's first victory) and Lamborghini (that wouldn't exist without Ferruccio being angry at Ferrari).
      Again, Alfa Romeo's history is all but questionable.
      Finally the price it's the same as the competitors, and in some cases Giulia is even cheaper than the rest, plus you have to take care of your car if you want it to be reliable, but people clearly didn't do that considering in this years Alfa a cheap car and probably the only fluid they changed in the car was the fuel, but you can hear stories of reliable Alfas as well as faulty cars from trusted brands.

      Well when people spend this kind of money they think of resale value as well.

    • @DaleSteel
      @DaleSteel Před 6 lety

      I disagree. People want reliability. Most BMW fans are also ALFA fans as they both stand for raw driving pleasure. I love BMW and I also love ALFA. I'd love to own a Alfa but I doubt I ever will because a) completely unreliable and B) residual loss.
      I drive a BMW M4 Its not to 'look richer than I am' I can afford the car I own it with no finance. I could just as easy buy this quadrofoglio but I'd be constantly worried about when it would let me down. That's why Alfas don't sell well, nothing to do with financial image that's nonsense.
