This was actually one of their virtually no budget videos. The jungle greenery was “borrowed” from the wild 😼 Ren gathered a large group of friends at a friend’s flat and took over the building.
And yes, in addition to Animal Farm, it’s also inspired by Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Witches of Eastwick, and other Kubrick films.
Looks like the stair case from Violets tale too so they shot there twice.

You’ll be amazed at how low cost they did the money for. He collected animal masks over a period time, filmed in the apartment over night without permission for the most part, him and a couple of friends went and cut plants down from the wild to use as decor…..
I respect the creativity of the sets and how it looks higher budget for next to nothing.

Ren is a big fan of Animal Farm and Stanley Kubrick, so you'll occasionally catch references to both in his lyrics. Loved the reaction and grooving on Limbo. 💛🤘🤙✌️
You guys are so great! Who knew you could pull out the Biblical references but also tie in the allegory of CS Lewis! Mad respect! This is a one take. Before Money Game 3, it was his most ambitious one take to date. And it's so cool that you picked up the Clockwork Orange vibes. Go back to the beginning of the video, and you'll see the rules from Animal Farm on the wall. Another great reaction!

The "Animal Farm" rules were written on the white board in the beginning when the camera flashed by the pig you pointed out. Viktus his pig man was swinging the clever to the beat and chopping up meat with the human head swinging in the birdcage. I wonder if he was chopping up people meat...🤔. Nice break down as usual.
💜🔥💙It's crazy, almost no budget on this one. Beat was inspired by Kanye's Black Skinhead. but the Manson song sounds like it too. Almost everything is a double and/or metaphor with Ren. Its almost never a reach. The lamb (sacrificial lamb), also, the sheep being led to the slaughter, he Sr the blood. (there's a leash on him being led by the other animal). Lord of the Flies is another inspiration for this. Political/societal commentary from Ren is in so much of his music. You were right, it's a one take even though it's not as important as some make it out to be.
I agree - Clockwork Orange comes into it. Ren's portrayal of the king is very reminiscent of Malcolm McDowell's character (Alex) in that film.
The lyrics are crazy, he’s saying like don’t even try to negotiate anything from me but complete obedience. Very familiar attitude from parents, store managers, to leaders of nations.
So at the start when Ren stood up, you had a nod to the piece of art called "Dogs playing poker" in with the two dogs sat at the card table, playing cards. The pig in the kitchen that was chopping the meat with the cleaver was doing it in time to the beat.
Written up on the whiteboard in the background is the heading "Two Legs Good, Four Legs Bad" which is a direct quote from Orwell's animal farm. There is also a list of things underneath which is what the Pigs in Animal Farm say.?
Just going on to your point about Ren's Mary had a little lamb and Mary Mary quite contrary nursery rhyme bars - and making a nursery rhyme scary?
Quite a few nursery rhymes are in their originality, quite scary as they are?
Take "Rock a bye baby" for example? What psychopath parent lodges their child in a cradle in the top of a tree, for it to come crashing down when the wind blows? And then SINGS about it to a young child.!
"This little piggy" is about taking livestock to market and slaughter.
"Ring a ring of roses" is a Victorian era nursery rhyme about catching the Bubonic plague. The ring of roses was the circular red mark on the skin that appeared before the black bubos grew. People thought then that highly scented flowers would ward off germs.
"It's raining it's pouring" is about dieing from head trauma.

Y’all hit the nail on the head on the head with the clockwork Orange connection; that is actually one of his favorite movies of all times. Also, the whole scheme of this video is a reference to the novel animal farm.
Basically, this video became a huge homage to a lot of his favorite films, being Willy, Wonka, the girls on the bicycle from the shining, etc.

This was inspired by George Orwell’s Animal Farm, an ironic study about communism and socialism, where the animals rise up and kill all the humans on the farm. At the beginning of the video if you pause at the writing on the wall, you’ll notice the animal commandments which were taken straight out of Orwell’s book.
It was also inspired, in parts by, William Golding’s Lord of Flies, much of Stanley Kubrick’s body of work, and Anthony Burgess’s A Clockwork Orange.
Also at the beginning of the video is a theme inspired by a painting by C.M. Coolidge called A Friend In Need.
I'm pretty sure he mentioned something about the reference to Animal Farm were during filming, but not originally an inspiration for the song.

A thought that I had the past couple days about meanings in the song and video - it's about Animal Farm, which was a satirical commentary on the communist revolution in Russia and the ultimate fall to corruption that caused it to fail. So, the song starts with him saying that he's a Cannibal King. Animal Farm is about a socialist revolution - and what's a common phrase among the worker class? "Eat The Rich"! The animals are the people and eating the rich is metaphorical cannibalism, so as the leader of the revolution, he's the metaphorical Cannibal King?

According to REN’s twitch podcast, this Animal Flow shoot was a b*tch…to pull off. Also, some of his videos like Animal Flow, Murderer, Genesis…etc, he made those before Hi Ren. He sat on them for awhile before releasing them…after he started blowing up on CZcams. Great reactions guys!!
