Great reaction! Their budget was minimal. These were all friends/acquaintances of Ren's. The commandments on the wall at the beginning were from Animal Farm by George Orwell. The guy tied up at the beginning is Joe, who is kidnapped at the end of the video for Murderer (spoiler alert LOL). Luke Flegg did the videography on this one and did such an amazing job. It was a continuous shot with no cuts, at least as far as I know. You should check out Ren's video Crutch if you haven't already - you will love the cinematography in that one💜💜

This was a continuous, yes. I remember seeing Ren speaking of it, and almost reveling in his friends' pain with a maniacal grin 😂, as they had to restart many times, till crazy hours in the early morning. He's a bit of a perfectionist. I can imagine the groans when he says nope, run it back, and they all return to their places 😂
I can just hear him saying the words "ok back to one" 🎬 😅
This one-shot video was captured by Luke Flegg. Luke also shot the official music video for Ren’s Murderer (which is almost a one-shot) as well as others. He has also filmed many of The Big Push’s busking videos. Since these were shot, Luke lost all of his gear to a break-in where his equipment was stored but crowd-sourcing (funded mostly by Renegades I think) got him back on his feet. The extras are all Ren’s friends and it was shot at his friend’s flat and the hallways within the building.
The BTS on Patreon is so good, I watched it thinking "JoeE and Jesse need to see this!"
Thank you for clarifying! I kind of figured it was not Samuel because it was not listed on the opening credits but I just wasn't sure. I added Murderer to my upcoming reaction playlist, I'm glad they were able to get Luke back on his feet, I know exactly what it feels to get your gear jacked! Silence of the Lambs reference too, re lamb having its throat slit. Also the frog & toad in the bath is a ref to cult classic Wind in the Willows childrens book . The 3 girls at his feet references The Witches of Eastwick. The pig is a ref to cult classic novel Lord of the Flies where shipwrecked children turn feral & murder a bullied younger boy.

This was filmed before Ren left for Canada, and released later as part of his plan to drip feed music whilst he was receiving treatment, so it was filmed before Jenna Ortega's 'Wednesday dance'. the whole budget was less than £1300, Ren used his friends and borrowed the apartment from his friend who lived there.
Also, the greenery around the apartment was collected from wandering around at night, if I remember correctly Ren said the “borrowed” some clippings from the botanical gardens . These guys do get up to some shinanigans lol. Ren does have the best friends surrounding him and if you look they crop up in several of his videos. 🥰

Think that Ren said that the last scene with him and the 'animals' standing with the light shining in the background, lighting them up, was actually just a nice coincidence. A car just happened to pull up as they all stood out there. If you start really looking closely, alot of their videos have these little awesome coincidences that coincide with exactly whats happening in the video. Flipping amazing
Ren wants to make a movie for Netflix. In an interview he said Money Game #3 was a warm up.

Loved it ❤ Like it's already been said, based on George Orwell Animal Farm, clockwork orange, willy wonka. Low budget. Ren is going through some serious medical issues, probably why he hasnt reached out. Many of his videos were done prior to going to Canada for treatment. He would love to do more, just check out his page, some of his interviews, he has to focus on his health. But music is his relief. We all need that ❤

I've seen recently videos he's posted on Instagram where he's rehearsing, singing and recording on his phone whilst getting his daily IV medication. It's important to have some of his medical history knowledge because it features a lot in his music/lyrics. @Cinematic_Jesse

There are so many fun references in this one . There was a big discussion early on about what the pig represented and someone said that his favourite book was Animal Farm and the pig was a reference to that ( Ren has since commented that it has a more personal meaning) then along came Animal Flow filled with references to the book . The rules about 2legs and 4legs is a direct quote . If you look closely you will see a live reproduction of the poker playing dogs and the girls in as 3 little kittens from the nursery rhyme ect. Ren is a fan of horror movies and has referenced them in several videos. Early one that may be interesting to you is Children of the Moon which is very Hammer Horror.
The animal masks have been in many of his videos Sick Boy , Illist Of Our Time, The Hunger and Murderer. The pig is a recurring protagonist.

Aside from the book reference it was also a nod to eyes wide shut with the masked party. There are a few other film references as well but I don't remember them all. Clockwork orange with the cane and white suit. He's a big Kubrick fan so I'm pretty sure there's some shining in there as well.

This video was made 2022 or possibly earlier
Ren was making his album for his own legacy before going to Canada for treatment for his chronic illness
At the time I believe Hi Ren was the last one made in Nov or Dec 2022
Therefore before his music blew up because of Hi Ren
He had very little money a go fund me for his life saving treatment
Most of the videos for Sick Boi were made with the help of friends and scenery gathered 'borrowed' and taken from the local botanical gardens 😂
He couldn't know at the time how many people would be watching.
Ren has said in the interview with Knox Hill, the song has nothing to do with animal farm specifically, It just to point out how we, we are all animals. But he littered the vid with animal references, also Ren loves putting Easter eggs in his vids, to see if you can spot them.
Ren tried to make reference to the famous dogs playing cards painting, whit the shot of the 2 dogs playing cards,
I know Ren and his boys were out in the middle of rhe night "trimming ' greenery to decorate the apartment for the jungle theme. I think he mentioned there might be 80 people involved. They were so many moving parts that it took a lot of takes to get it right. Lots of little easter eggs. Ren conceptualizes and directs these. Luke Flegg fimed .

Hey man! Loved your intro again! RENegades will come back when we see the enthusiasm and effort you put in, especially for our favorite Birthday Boy! It puts a big smile of my face.
And yeah, that is the hostage he threw in the trunk with piggy (aka: his buddy Joe of Flackerz photos). Ren’s friend, Luke Flegg, was the videographer for this one-shot and they did it a friend’s apartment with all their friends, on a VERY shoe-string budget.
As far as politics, Ren’s lyrics clearly convey his anti-monarchy stance (Illegitimate King lost his crown). The RENegades would give Ren a crown but he would probably melt it down and give the money to people in need. His spirit is already golden. Not sure if you’ve checked out his video, “Crucify Your Culture,” but that will give you a little more insight to his perception of what happening in our neck if the woods. 😉

The guy tied up at the beginning of the video is Joe(photographer), a friend of Ren, he was the guy kidnapped in music video “ Murderer”. I think, Ren said he was broke when they shot this video. Great reactions, as always.
The beginning was shot in a friend's apartment and the rest was in the public spaces of the building (without permission) and it took until the wee hours of the night to finish.
Yes, I agree with others that you'll love Crutch which is early, from when Ren was extremely ill and having horrible physical and psychological impacts from the medications.
I believe his first collaboration filming a video with Samuel was Children of the Moon which you'll also enjoy.

You can tell from this that Ren is inspired by Kubrick. Many vibes from Clockwork Orange,The Shining, Willy Wonka, The Witches of Eastwick. And he’s also influenced by dystopian literature. Orwell’s Animal Farm is quite prominent in the video treatment.
As others shared, this was done on virtually no budget using his mate’s flat with I believe 70-80 of his friends. He describes a lot of the background I believe in the comments/description and community post.
Yes - definitely do reactions to his recent releases. Each are completely different genres and vibes. But you will also appreciate the acoustic version of Animal Flow and the video for Crutch.

Budget...lol. Ren said this was his friends apartment building. The "borrowed" the foliage at the beginning from surrounding yards/parks. The people were friends (or friends of friends) that had no idea this was going to be an almost all nighter. The biggest cost was probably the masks. Even the gorilla suit appears in other videos.

A lot has already been said about Animal Flow. I'll just add that it seems to be the same building as in Violet's Tale, situated just across the street of a location where several gigs of The Big Push were recorded. (E.g. Sympathy for the Devil.)

Your intros show your great talent. Tiny budget on this one. Kubrick is one of Ren's influences. This is a quote from Ren about this track. "This one was inspired by George Orwell’s Animal Farm and Lord Of The Flies. I was also massively inspired by Black Skinhead by Kanye for the beat. It brings you into this dark tribal chaotic world. I loved playing about with the sonics of this one in the production.”(Luke Flegg was the cinematographer on this one). His last one although it's instrumental, the visual is gorgeous. Ren has so much going on right now. Don't hold it against him if he can't reach back out to you now.

Ren is a massive Stanley Kubrick fan, so in addition to all the Animal Farm references, Eyes Wide Shut and A Clockwork Orange were influences in this one.
The HIdden Gem that tickles me most in this is the bath tub. So, the Creature from the Black Lagoon is also called "The Gill-Man". Ren's last name is Gill, and he is a man. There is also a Rabbit sillouette on the bathroom door if you look closely.
I thought the frog & fish in the tub referenced cult childrens classic The Wind in the Willows, but I get where you're coming from too.

I vaguely remember reading the book when I was younger so I recently picked it back up for a re-fresher!
So cool concept. Animal Farm. On the wall the rules the animals made when they took over human society! I saw a vid of them all running through a dollar store for masks etc. chopped bushes for walls. Friends apt! No budget. Did you notice the 2 cows when Ren 1st steps outside were eating steak???! Canabals. And in 1st scene dogs were playing poker and picture of human on the wall!? Pig mask dude butcher chopping up something? Ren - between Willy Wonka, clockwork orange. He loves horror films like you.
