But in those group stages you Need to win to get out and qualify to the knockout stages. Even more ridiculous Skip talks about Steph’s struggles in 2016, and holds it against him, without doing the same with Lebron’s 2011 finals performance. How about Magic Johnson’s “Tragic Johnson” performance in 1984? Kobe’s stinker in 2004?

Harden doesn't get "way more" rebounds and assists at all. His career averages are 5 rebounds and 6 assists - Steph's are 4 and 6. So Steph averages about the same numbers as Harden in those categories even though he's two inches shorter and has a smaller build. Check the stats before commenting next time.

And during his 8 seasons in Houston, he only shot better than 44% from the field in one . So overall, Curry is a more accurate shooter and his rebounding and assist numbers aren't much lower than Harden's. Also, he's won 3 championships. If I was a GM or coach,. I'd take Curry over Harden on my team any day.

Lots of great players shooting percentages go way down on the Finals. For instance, kobe was usually around 40%. It's like an entirely different sport the way it is called with players playing very physical and refs holding back. Steph still a big factor in every championship because teams have to worry about him so much and he tires out defenders.

Curry will always hit 40-45% of his 3s in a 1000-shot sample, and he'll always be either 0% or 100% in a 1-shot sample, and will be between 60% and 20% in a 40-shot sample. 3-point shots aren't like, say, turning a door knob or chopping wood. EVERY player is going to hit his long-term average over the long-term, but vary wildly over the short term. That's just the nature of it, and, heck, it's precisely WHY Sir Charles initially said that jump shooting teams were unlikely to win championships: jump shots USUALLY miss.
Just to be clear: what it means to be the greatest shooter of all time-- and it doesn't even matter whether you think it's Steph or someone else-- is that you're going to miss more 3-pointers than you make. That's just the way it is.

Steph had a shot at immortal goat status in 2016. He choked HARD in Game 7 at Oracle. He basically said, "Here, LeBron, you take the chip" in that 4th quarter. The ship sailed on top 10. Curry without KD has lead the warriors to 67 wins and 73 wins in b2b seasons in a tough conference (with regular season MVPs to show for it), 2 finals appearances, and a championship. Injuries were a huge part of that 2015 championship, but lets not act like getting through the western conference is just a cake walk. Plus, in the 2019 playoffs when KD was injured, Curry finished off the Rockets and swept the Blazers for another finals appearance. You notice how the first thing KD does after leaving Curry is team up with another MVP in James Harden with another generation talent in Kyrie Irving backing them. He knows as well as anyone that making the finals and winning a Championship is more than a one man job.

Shaq got swept so many times. Tim Duncan, Wilt, Bird, Magic, MJ all choked in their careers. If he wins another chip and a FMVP, Steph is a top ten player all time
