We are told Hamas was in power by vote of residents there. I believe they would not elect a Cuban immigrant. On the face of it, Biden does think about optics. There are some minority citizens who can do their jobs with competence and sincere pride in our US. But some have little respect for our constitution and, like the protesters on campuses at present, they want to gift advantages to immigrants who do illegal acts.

The HOR are the ones who initiated, passed and brought the articles of impeachment to the senate. @elbo55 is right, it’s the Democratic side of the Senate, in particular Senate Majority Leader Schumer (D), who is trying to block the trial altogether. Saying “Don’t give any member of congress another term in office, NO EXCEPTIONS” isn’t accurate because there are people trying to hold the DHS Secretary accountable.

There is no impeachment process for a Senator. A Senator can only be removed by a 2/3 Senate vote to expel him. With the makeup of this Senate that will never happen.
