Wonderful review. Thank you so much. Abida Parveen is a Sufi singer. She's been singing Sufi poetry for several decades. She has received very rigorous training as a Salik (wayfarer on the Sufi path) to reach where she is.
Jhoom is like the whirling of a Darvesh, which is symbolic of the dance of the universe from the atom where the electrons revolve around the nucleus to the solar system where the planets revolve around the Sun (and beyond!) it's all a whirling dance of love and passion. It's symbolic of a state of mind where you're so aligned with the dance of the cosmos (individual and collective growth and evolution) that the anchorages of the ego (caste, socioeconomic status etc) slip off. Then you're content with being who you are, having what you have.

“Tu Jhoom” means to sway rhythmically.

I think in this song "Jhoom" is used philosophically so simple translation wouldn't have delivered the context.
