It's not a prayer but it's sorta prayer, everything gets lost in translation. It's a prayer for wanting something but not getting it, so you are in this constant battle with yourself. The whole forest theme has a deeper meaning to in regards to the lyrics.
Never feel sorry for not liking a song. We're here because we love your honesty and analysis.
Thank you!
What the translator seems to have tried to do is to convey not only the linguistic, but also the implied meaning of the lyrics. These implied meanings are, for us native speakers, a given, because every word carries centuries of religio-cultural assumptions that we have been brought up with and so instinctively understand. It's not impossible to translate poetically, but very difficult. Wonderful reaction though, thank you. 😊
This is a magical, beautiful song. Her beautiful voice and music and the set creates the magical environment. Awesome! Fantastic.Loved the song.😍🥰
I'm not at all surprised to see your reaction on this fantastic masterpiece, since it is deeply sentimental therefore to feel the depth of this song you've to know the original languages i.e. Urdu & Punjabi in which this song has been sung by Momina, certainly the subtitles in English will not do justice with the actual lyrics at all, its just a mere translation. You'll never feel this type of songs without knowing the actual language in which they are sung. I feel that Momina is todays Nazia Hassan (Nazia along with her brother Zoheb, introduced pop in Pakistan in the 80s and was dubbed as the Nightingale of Pakistan). Momina's voice texture is quite similar to Nazia's, and I hope one day she revives Nazia's masterpieces that were sung long time ago and are priceless even today. You guys must react to the BTS of this song, may be it'll change your views after watching the BTS. Hope to see you there. Take care, stay safe, cheers!!!
I agree with what you are saying but I also feel their reaction would have been a bit different if they paid more attention to it .. they were mostly chatting, looked distracted and not really listening which was frankly very annoying .. almost as if they had written the singer off as soon as they realized she was the same singer who sang Sajan Das Na.
And no idea why the Mrs was complaining about the translation bit when there was lots more of that in songs like Yeh Dunya.
Disappointing.
You literally stole the words out of my mouth! When I first heard Momina’s voice on Aafreen I literally thought the exact same that her voice is similar to that of Nazia Hassan’s. I would really love for Momina to revive the classics from 90’s which Nazia the queen of music in Pakistan sang, wrote and composed.
@@wakisaeed5918 momina had two performances that were OK. I don't blame them for not being impressed. Momina has shown more with her singing ability on other coke studio ventures. I think she had an opportunity to really showcase her vocal ability at the end when the music is dimmed down, but she didn't. So if you don't understand the words, and the lyrics aren't doing a great job of painting the picture and the singing is just... Good.... What makes you go wow? Jhoom is head and shoulders above this track for outsiders cuz abida parveens vocal abilities always impress... Momina's part here could have been done by literally any singer.
@@piccolomair I respect your opinion .. just don’t agree with it. I believe she performed very well .. these folks are more into rock and modern music and appreciate it right away which is great but when it comes down to appreciating pure eastern music there are reservations .. The song is garnering excellent reviews by lots of channels who appreciate eastern music and take the time to understand its intricacies.. not write it off if it doesn’t fit their mould. Sorry but I will point out what is evident. Thanks for your comment.. regards.
@@piccolomair I second you! I feel like this song wasn't meant for Momina.
It's a prayer of sorts but it's a prayer of a person whose struggling for a long time, happens to be plagued with self doubt and feels that they're finally losing themselves in the pain that accompanies their patience and perseverance. Love is central to the prayer. It doesn't elaborate whether it's about a particular person the narrator has been endlessly waiting for or she is simply giving voice to her longing for finding someone who loves her in a world where she feels unloved or lonely. Both are valid explanations.
nice
Another honest and genuine reaction. You are on top of my list for CS reviews and in fact I will be exploring more of your reactions.
I loved the melody of this one, and the gorgeous set.
You guys are lovely
IT IS STILL STUDIO 🎙
This one is my fave, I'm shocked you called this kinda boring. Its such a gorgeous song
Hey you beautiful couple, loved your honest reaction. God bless!!! 😊
Amazing reaction!
You guys are my favorite ❤️ loads of love from Pakistan 🇵🇰
Loved your reaction. The best part of this song is the melody her vocals and how it all just flows together. Not over the top. You can just close your eyes and just enjoy the melody and picture the love of your life being with you. 😊🥰

Beautiful voice with amazing video.. Coke studio Pakistan 💞🇵🇰💞
Me hearing it first time also thought what a boring song but believe me it grows on you with time.
The song is very magical!
❤❤❤
You both are cute ❤
Thanks!
Momina is clearly this simple, gentle, and calm voice and she doesn't have to do much really because her voice already conveys a wide range of emotions and passion! By the way, i am not from Pakistan, but i can assure you this song is not religious, despite the recurrent mention of God. This one is about love. This song is probably my most favorite this season though it's difficult to decide (there's Tu Jhoom, Pasoori, Meheram, Ye Duniya, Sajan Dasna to name just a few great songs) ❤️
❤️
6:40 Her name is Veeru Shan
So sorry to hear these aren't monetised.... let me bombard Coke Studio with more emails!
Also - that song reaction... is it Tera Woh Pyaar? Asim Azhar & Momina.... just thought I'd ask here as well!
Loved the reaction! I personally feel this is my 2nd least favourite of the season... unfortunately, both the songs with Momina have been my worst for the season (but they're still good - just not enjoying it as much even though... I am a sucker for Choirs & the gravitas it gives to the song)
Lastly - please keep doing these reactions! I've been really loving these!!
Thanks Asjad. We surely will. It’s so funny. We were able to monetize this one. Haha. Not sure why but we won’t complain. Thanks for the support. And yes, that is the song that Gabe and I listened to.
the song you are talking about is "tera woh pyar" which momina sung with Asim
Appreciated ♥️🇵🇰
I'm expecting this to be a huge hit in South Asia, because it's got all the classic elements of tragic romance and spirituality that resonate with this audience. Plus Momina (who's a natural redhead, as far as I know) is very popular here, so there's the star attraction.
She isn’t a natural redhead. You can find many pics where she colored her hair red or orange-red. Her natural color is more light brown-dark blonde.
Love your reviews! You guys are doing a great job, especially for not knowing the language. I’d also recommend reacting to some OSTs of the Pakistani dramas. One of my recent favorite is the OST from the drama “Dobara,” which means “Again.” Definitely worth checking out…thanks 🙏🏼
Hairaan Hua Sanam Marvi Coke Studio Season 12. Do check out this gem guys !
You should watch the “Magical Journey” for the song in question. You need to actually understand the words and thoughts in this song. As Momina described in an interview : this song is almost like a prayer. Can’t you feel the emotion ?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yes…. Yes….yes……. It’s THAT TIME! Nick here…. Jodie here!
You guys now must, must, must watch the bts of this song. And do I need to say that I like the reaction videos...well I do 😂
Haha. Thanks and we will. Waiting for the subtitles to be added
The drummer in this song, Yusuf Ramay is the the drummer of metal band Takatak. Zain Peerzada's other band. You guys should check their songs.
Yes, you're absolutely right about the translation. It's just not up to par with previous seasons.
The set isn’t green screen. It’s been made an indoor space, they show it in the BTS.
❤ from Pakistan 🇵🇰
Influenced by 🇮🇳 Indian classical folk music no doubt she has an angelic sound ♥ love her
This is 🇵🇰 music.. not 🇮🇳
Our languages are loaded with poetic flair, as oral poetic traditions have been practiced for centuries in this region. You could say a ton in just a few words, which makes total sense to us as we have the cultural context, but when you get to translate it to a foreign language like English - it's almost an impossible task. That's why the English translation gets so verbose and even then I chuckle on some of the translations in the song as they are a bit off of what's intended in the lyrics. Without the cultural context meanings get lost in translation sometime.
Organic song
Guys, do consider reacting to Main Raasta by Momina and Junaid Khan. I think it's from Season 9. So much fun! It can lift anyone's day. You guys will love it.
1st view☺
Listen to a few times more and it will grow on you.
Agree they could have kept beats to a low as it was more suitable with acoustics..thou much better on low volume....btw fun fact about her She graduated with a double majors degree in Biomedical Engineering and Applied Mathematics from the Stony Brook University in USA. At the time of her graduation, her name was in the Dean's list.
With you on the simplicity, and I am glad you realize that trying to get the meaning and flow of a song from rather loosely translated lyrics is difficult.
Yes There are many words in urdu regarding spratualty u can't find in other languages..
Yeah it was Borin! Specially after Muazziz Saarif and Yeh Duniya.....
Must watch BTS of this song 🤩
Guys want bts of moaziz saarif please 🥺
Hello there.
Will you please react on a band called EP which is from Pakistan and it was rock band back in a day and there song called "Hamesha" and Zulfi was Composer , music producer and guitarist in that band, who you know nowadays as a producer of coke studio season 14.
Agree, translation usually misses complete message and expression. Honest reaction and comments. 👍
react to its behind the scenes

Hey, react on " Rang" coke studio please sung by Rahat fateh Ali khan and Amjad sabri
3:50 im ur fan 👍
Haha. Excellent. Thanks.
Please react on,Superhit,& Amazing "NESCAFE BASEMENT AKHIYA UDEEK DIYA" it's wonderful masterpiece
That instrument is Rubab
Urdu is a poetic language. So there are words that describe a situation or feeling. That’s why two words are translated in 10 words in English. Because English doesn’t have those words.
Wow, happy to see you on a boring working day lol. Yes this song was quite simple , unlike coke studio songs. However, you should react to " Bol hu" nescafe basement song of an 8 year old girl and a band, and also "Sohna tu" song of pepsi nowadays very hit and if u do these 2 songs then i will suggest some more to get you more views for sure ;). Take care. Here are the links of songs

Please also mention that these are Pakistani songs🇵🇰🇵🇰
Thanks for reaction ,☺
She is latest version of the great late Nazia hassan ..
Most of the passion and sentiment is lost through translation ;alot of meanings easily get misconstrued too. This one had love more central to its theme than religion.its a completely different creature when it is listened to in its language: urdu
you don't need to be sorry Jodi. This is exactly what we watch your channel for, honest opinions .. : ) personally, it's not my favorite too : )
The song was good, but i liked the set better : )
i mean the song is pretty good, but of course not as par to what we've heard before... i mean they've already set the bar so high it's pretty tough to match that even for themselves.
Sir/Mam, Momina is one of the legends who creates magic with her soulful music. Amazing singing and lot of pain in the song. Its mesmerizing on loop while m driving since morning. Hear the song "Sajan das na" another magical song created by Atif & Momina! Wish these duo all the success with coke studio 14.
Sajan das na was the worst of this season and not because of momina. As talented as Atif is, it didn’t suit him
@@ZSI123 🤣share any of your fav. lets see what kind of songs are good.
the guitar thing called (bubab) it is the most difficult to learn there is a story ( a man sentenced to death penalty king ask him to his last wish he said i want to learn (bubab) king accept that king's minister sead that now you can't kill this name because no one can learn bubab in lifetime perfectly so he will live his whole life now
Yup, there's A LOT lost in translation...but that's always the case unfortunately. Its impossible to convey the real beauty and expression of the original lyrics but I often see the meaning is also either distorted or incomplete in the English subs.
after that scream in Ye Dunya nothing does it for the legends..........its hard to retune to something else .....
(Sinf .e.Aahan)paksitan girls army ost song .
Please reaction
Agree it was really simple, videography was way better than actual song.
Simple love song in which she is praying for his partner and complaining that he is careless...
I see most people complaining about the english translation not doing justice to the lyrics! I've felt it too and I think it's cause they've tried to make the english translation sound poetic as well! You will notice that there is sort of a rhyming scheme in the english part as well for almost all the songs in this season!
They're trying just a little too hard there... I think, they should just stick to the simple, easy to understand translation with proper elaboration like they used to do in previous seasons...
You guys are both right in your own way. Yes Jodi the translation is really not doing a great job of conveying the message forward. The song is in Punjabi, the second largely spoken language in Pakistan. Punjabi is such an emotive, and deep language, one of the major choice of communication of the sufis and saints of the Sub-Continent. There are terms and phrases which may take a small paragraph to at least a couple of sentences to explain in English. Sayiaan the word she is using to Call upon God is hard to explain in English. So these deep mystical lyrics become simple and mundane and even boring when translated. When she says beloved, that means there is already someone she loves...😉 they are just not together and she is asking for that to happen. In my read, the jungle represents a jungle of humanity in which you wander trying to find your own one person to be with. And it is easy to misread or misjudge out of so many people so she is asking for Divine Guidance to lead her to the right one. Nick i stuck to listening to the song to the end only because of the lyrics otherwise it was just a song out of many. This was so Momina labelled to sing like that. I wish they had taken her out of the box and let her belt out some more. Thanks for your honest review. 👉👍✌
I loved your review here - mainly because it wasn't a positive one. Which means your reviews are indeed genuine. I don't think the song is bad, much like y'all, I just feel like there have been such stellar songs this season that this one drew the short straw.
I do think the lyrics didn't translate well, but that's not on you at all.
Thank you! I don’t think it’s bad either, just elements that weren’t my favorite.
The girl is Veeru Shaan and don’t know the guy’s name
Not my favorite song but the reaction was great 👍

you should check out its BTS for more understanding of the song
Jodi and Nick keeping' it real. Agreed, this was a tiny bit boring. They'd shared a little snippet with the traditional instruments on their insta stories which had me quite excited, but the song as a whole was definitely not like the more memorable ones from this season.
In English it's not exact translation but deeper meaning of that verse as only translation won't do justice as we, natives get the complete understanding for example in most of Punjabi sufi songs God is referred as beloved or lover and new listener might not get the real essence
SOMETIMES IT IS NOT YOUR BOTTEL OF MUSIC
