  • You can boost your metabolism after the age of 50, and after menopause - a time when many women begin to gain weight. A new study shows how eating a low-fat vegan diet can increase caloric burn after a meal, and can help you to lose fat stores, which are associated with fatty liver disease and metabolic syndrome. If you're looking for a healthier way of eating that has far-reaching positive health impacts, you may want to look into the benefits of a whole-food, plant-based diet.

If anyone is feeling empty, lonely, depressed etc, I want you to know that Jesus loves you, and He is the Only one who can make you feel true love, happiness, joy and peace. We need to repent of our sins and turn to Him and start living for Him and He will be there with you every step of the way.

My interpretation is that being made in God's image is not about physical appearance, but in that God is already within each living being and the introspective journey to find's one truest, joyous self IS to find that Peace.
But then again, I suppose how we visualize it I suppose is our puny human interpretation as we comprehend the mysteries of this universe. Making the effort to BE on that journey is what is most important.
Peace be with you and blessed be. Amen.

Many women become insulin resistant during menopause and reducing carbs a bit can help (like mostly avoiding grains and white starches and opt for starchy vegetables and legumes) along with intermittent fasting (minimum of 12 hours but no more than 16 hours overnight so as to not stress the body). You don't necessarily have to reduce calories...just reduce your eating window). And don't over-exercise. After a certain age, it can raise cortisol levels. Focus on walking and resistance training.

I just watched a lecture by Dr. Garth Davis and it’s one that everyone should see. Next to Michael Greger and Neil Barnard, he’s my favorite. He said people in the Blue Zones eat mostly carbohydrates. Yet when he tells a patient to eat a baked potato for lunch with maybe some beans and salsa on top, they’re horrified. I never understood this irrational fear of carbs.

I have been going through this, really started at 45 at full force. That was three years ago and it has been hard with hot flashes, etc. I believe dairy makes it worse. I gained about 20 pounds, I was thin and trim for years. So I am rethinking and realigning things. I am veering away from the dairy and started fasting. I was tired of suffering. Fasting has really helped and I lost 6 pounds in one week, which was a lot of water weight, I do believe. My latest theory is that I just have to quit eating and focus on a fasting lifestyle. I have done similar things in the past that worked, I understand the importance of flushing our bodies, the difference for me now is that I have to eat less. The problem is is our society shuns fasting. But at this stage in life I have a strong inkling that I must control my appetite, I have to take control of it or it will take control of me, so it is not necessarily a diet choice. I was vegan for about three years a few years ago. It is different now.

I am still struggling with the last 30 pounds. I am proud to say that as of 1/2/2021 I will have been refined sugar free for a year. Candy and pastries being my addiction. I have been very compliant eating wfpb this past year. Over 3 years I lost 80 pounds, wfpb for the last 2 years. I have taken an honest look at the amount of food I consume and believe I am still over eating. I have not gained any weight but I stopped losing last summer. My father passed away in September and I stopped trying to lose. I am going to track my food for a month to see what I consume and not limit my fruits and veggies as much as not eat gobs of grains and beans. My last final food addiction hurdle will be salt. Next year at this time I want to say I eat minimal salt. I do not have hypertension, but I do salt my food to make it taste better. I want the food to just taste good as it is. My taste buds have already improved so much. I really want to be at my goal weight by the end of 2021. And I believe with a few tweaks I can do it.

The stress of your father's death held your cortisol levels up in unhealthy ranges. Lowering cortisol alone will induce weight loss again. The body's fight or flight response HOLDS onto fat. Cortisol is a fat storing hormone. Evolutionarily speaking, when the threat of the cheetah chasing you (aka you father's death) has passed your body will easily release fat. Search cortisol weightloss on CZcams and also how to reduce cortisol. Increase your consumption of produce but do not omit animal proteins. It backfired on me .

I like to include both in the diet. Some veggies are better cooked, and some better raw (in terms of nutrient absorption). Veggies are rarely, if ever inflammatory for the body. And lectins can be protective against certain cancers. The most inflammatory diet is one that contains animal products - at least this is what meta analysis of all available nutritional science to date bears out.

but saturated fat is essential, carbs/fiber are not. czcams.com/video/AOU0hIiVaD0/video.html ....... AND ....... czcams.com/video/ZCkj0qJ0FDA/video.html. We need a 'CAFO Meat Carnivore Diet from McDonalds without the Bun' ...versus a... 'Grass Fed/Finished - Nose to Tail Carnivore Diet' study done !!!! I'm so sick of Vegans using CAFO meat diet and its cytokine shitstorm as a reason to not eat a GRASS FINISHED NOSE TO TAIL DIET. They are VERY different diets and the latter provides ALL the nutrients humans need when including offal, suet, liver, heart etc. Hybridized broccoli and apples are NOT NORMAL. Fat and liver is!

Hello, I'm bummed to hear that vegan is the focus of this first half of the video and it's not refreshing for me. Vegan is actually cutting out foods groups and is a diet that your stick to and it doesn't feel like a mindset but a way of obeying another diet. I'm sorry Sophie but low fat is not healthy and usually means more added sugar.

Yes - vegan can be unhealthy - there's a way to do it to make sure you have energy. And that means making sure you have all the nutrients you need.

Lolol...if by ancestors you mean "caveman" they hunted and built and walked and plowed and planted and harvested and moved ... they didn't eat the processed animals and dairy that we do. They are meat rarely bc it was not accessible,or as time moved along, it was expensive, and if they did eat beef it was from their own farm, from the grass fed field, not a corn fed food lit shot with drugs, Every food " ancestors" ate was completely different than today. From dairy to meat to wheat. Even our fruit and vegetables have less nutrients today.. check out the China study.

🧡💛💚💙💜Nope!! ANY diet is better than the control group (n=122) who made no diet changes and kept on eating their sodas, churros and chips (high inflammation). Calorie reduction was ULTIMATELY their diet and that also works in a Carnivore Diet or a Fat Fast. Postprandial metabolism is also present in high protein/meat or fat diets. Insulin reduction in any of these diets is where the weight loss comes from. Sophie, you need to be more critical when reading scientific studies. I was a vegan for 4 years and a vegetarian for 15 and was extremely anemic and needed two blood infusions. A diet void of heme iron is nonsense.... AND DANGEROUS!! Also high cortisol levels and antibiotics even up to 5 years prior cause malabsorption and SIBO in a HUGE population of the Western world, which is most likely the cause of the inability to lose weight after 50.Omiting grass finished meat from the diet doesn't magically cause weight loss. You're viewers are smarter than that- give them credit. Gut health and Cotisol videos below:

Tell me about it! Still trying to get my iron in check after being anemic and not eating that much meat for years. Hemme supplements and more meat has brought my energy up dramatically but still a long ways to go. I get exhausted just passing by the vegan section in the supermarket. Can’t do that again. Ferritin was at 11 two months ago and waiting fir lab results. Agree completely

K - I always follow meta-analysis of all available evidence-based studies to date. I would love to see peer-reviewed (non-industry funded) studies on lack of HEME iron being dangerous. And as far as meat being able to heal gut health - I highly recommend you follow 2 gastroenterologist theplantfedgut.com/ www.alandesmond.com/ 2 highly respected medical doctors who have treated and healed patients with Crohns, SIBO etc. You are right, we have to be able to heal our gut to be able to absorb nutrients. And those with serious gut issues should always consult with a gastroenterologist before embarking on any nutritional protocol.
