    1. Eat more food, especially protein.
    2. Drink more water (minimum of half your body weight in ounces of water). Also drink water before meals.
    3. Do weight training to build muscle. HIIT and strength training.
    4. Get enough sleep (minimum of 7 hrs)
    5. Move around throughout the day.
    Thanks, doc.

      @@littlevoice_11 I thought this article was a good summary. www.healthline.com/health/pancreatitis-diet#treatment. Especially for how it highlights that fat could be an irritant so to use MCTs instead of regular dietary fat (which are long-chain triglycerides). Also, any foods that raise insulin requirements like refined starches and sugars (such as the pastries you mentioned) will irritate it because they cause blood sugar to raise, will cause cause more insulin to be needed from the pancreas. A video I really liked that highlighted the difference between short, medium, and long chain fatty acids that may be helpful for you/your Nannie is this one: czcams.com/video/BFYER2CfEhg/video.html

      Go for 30 min walk after you eat. The weight will shift! It has to if you place the demand on the body. I have lost 35lbs through IF but my greatest losses are when I get up and walk. I also make sure I get a really good sleep. Taking Magnesium helps aid good sleep. Always walk away from stress in your life where possible. Stress shortens your life, it's so utterly damaging and no job in life is worth it. I also take Nutritional Yeast every day which kills stress in the body. But always use the unfortified versions because the Fortified version has synthetic junk added to it.

    The only thing I completely disagree with is the amount of water recommended to drink. When you drink too much water your body also passes out a lot of electrolytes which is not replaced will result in a feeling of low energy. Your cells can only take in so much water and most of the excess is just going to pass out again so you will be constantly just running to the toilet. I think it's more important to keep your bodys salt and electrolytes up and just drink what your body needs. How do you know how much it needs? It will tell you!! It's called thirst. That's why when you exercise you get thirsty, your body tells you, hey how about some water. You will notice after a glass of water your body will not keep sending thirst signals because it is smart and knows it does not need it. If you continue to train your body will keep giving you thirst for water because it does use it when doing physical exercise. If someone is sedentary they need hardly any water. So my advice for what it's worth is drink when you are thirsty. Your body is very smart and will tell you when exactly to drink and how much to drink.

      You should start strength training to put those proteins to work. Muscle mass helps burning more calories in rest. You don't even have to do that much, just 2 sessions a week and concentrate on big compound lifts: squats, deadlifts, overhead press, bench press. Those work most of the body's musculature at once.

    When I drink water before a meal, it makes me nauseated. What should I do?

    • @drmorgannolte
      @drmorgannolte  Před 9 měsíci +1

      It's important to make sure you're comfortable while maintaining good hydration. If water before meals doesn't sit well with you, there are a few things you could consider trying:
      Adjust the Timing: Experiment with drinking water at different times. You might find that drinking water a bit earlier or later before your meal helps alleviate the nausea.
      Small Sips: Instead of drinking a large amount of water all at once, try taking small sips throughout the day to ensure you're still adequately hydrated without overwhelming your stomach.
      Hydrate Between Meals: Consider drinking water in between meals rather than immediately before. This can give your body more time to process the water before you eat.
      Choose Hydrating Foods: Incorporate water-rich foods into your meals, such as fruits and vegetables with high water content. This can contribute to your overall hydration levels.
      Seek Professional Advice: If the nausea persists or worsens, it's a good idea to consult a healthcare professional. They can help identify any underlying causes and provide personalized recommendations.
      Remember, everyone's body is different, and finding what works best for you might require a bit of trial and error. Your health and comfort are important, so don't hesitate to make adjustments that suit your needs.
