- Can I beat a Pokemon Hardcore Nuzlocke challenge in Diamond and Pearl using only Fire types WHEN THERE ARE ONLY TWO IN THE ENTIRE GAME?
Nuzlocke rules:
Fainted Pokemon must be permanently boxed
Only the first encounter on any given route may be caught (dupes clause)
All pokemon must be nicknamed
Hardcore Rules:
Always Set mode
No items from the bag option in battle (held items are ok)
No overleveling the next gym leader

For future reference, Golbat's only ability in gen 4 is Inner Focus, so trying to flinch it during the Jupiter/Mars fight was never going to work.

The only one I can think of that would be harder is dp dragon because all you have is garchomp but he has done platinum ground which has 1 more Pokémon so I doubt he will do it for a really long time but 2nd hardest nuzlocke ever is still insanely impressive better than I could ever do

That Garchomp and Milotic shenanigannery was insane
Here's something that not a lot of people seem to know about diamond and pearl: every single trainer in the entire game has wild pokemon ai. Even the champion. What this means is that every single move the ai makes is random, even when they have a super effective move that can kill.
I remember when I knew that the first time, I thought I was crazy XD

I see this mentioned but never proof of it. It’s pretty obvious that the trainers avoid moves you’re immune to at the very least.
I agree that the AI was improved in Platinum and didn’t always do the best decisions in DP though, so there may be something actually going on, but the whole random thing seems like a legend to me.
Similarly, the only Electric-types in Diamond Pearl are Luxray, Pikachu and Pachirisu. Also, Weavile and Abomasnow are the only Ice-type.
The Dex for Diamond and Pearl is terrible and thank god Platinum expanded it.
The Pokédex is terrible but the news Pokémon are insane ! 🔥
IIRC I don't even think Electric or Ice are truly possible without extreme luck. Does Shinx even get Bite by Roark's level cap?
@@CoffeeFlavoredMilk nope. it can use the hidden power TM on DP though as you get it before the first gym, you just pray that its either grass or water.
in platinum, you get quite a few more electric encounters but you dont get hidden power TM, meaning your best shots gambling with non stab return which against physically bulky mons that resist normal... yeah pretty impossible.
@@unkindled6410, for DP specifically, it learns Bite at 13 and Spark at 17, so the opposite of Platinum. Maybe the run is possible because of that?

I think the diamond and pearl AI is random, thats why garchomp for example didn't go for the best possible move every time. The same goes for floatzel in the wake fight, Cynthia's milotic, the commanders golbat etc

I remember hearing that these games legit have random AI. It makes it much harder to plan but also allows room to get lucky. Either way this was an insane run, good shit.

So many of those super-effective Electric type Hidden Powers/Natural Gifts vs Flying types actually have less base power than STAB unresisted Flamethrower. The only exception is if you somehow managed to get a Hidden Power with a base power of at least 68, but super-effective Leppa Berry Natural Gift is always weaker than STAB unresisted Flamethrower

This morning i watched FlygonHG beat an Emerald hardcore nuzlocke without healing (other than healing moves) which I legit didn’t think was even possible! Now Antler comes with a this! Again, I did NOT think this would ever be possible!

1. I don't know why there's barely any fire types in this game.
2. I have the biggest respect for you because a hardcore nuzlock where if something faints it's dead and there's only 2 pokemon is sooo hard I imagine, if something faints it's a solo run.
I've got a recommendation for you: why not go for a 'statlock' instead of a 'typelock'? You know, spin a wheel to see what kind of pokemon you're allowed to catch based on its stat. I just started a pokemon X nuzlock useing this and got defense. So now for my first three encounters I have to specifically nab chespin, bunnelby on route 2, and fletchling in santalune forest (note, when I got defense, I look at the highest defense from the final evolution of each mon from the BST, and while fletchling is on route one, it has the highest defense of everything else in that area.)
I used to beat platinum with only infernape. My hardest challenge ever
