Nuzlocke rules:
Fainted Pokemon must be permanently boxed
Only the first encounter on any given route may be caught (dupes clause)
All pokemon must be nicknamed
Hardcore Rules:
Always Set mode
No items from the bag option in battle (held items are ok)
No overleveling the next gym leader

I caught one in my latest run of Inclement Emerald, having never played a game past gen 5 before.
I was at first turned off by its appearance but decided to use it anyway and its an absolute beast
I think that once all of the types have been done for a hard-core nuzlocke it would be kinda cool to instead have a team that is weak to a specific type. (I.e. having a team full of pokemon weak to water.)

After all the types are done, I would love to see a type lockout. You only get to use each type on a Pokemon once, meaning dual types use up both of its typings. I tried one recently and it was fun to prioritise which Pokemon would be the best choices for each type
How about a team with only quad weak types, like rock and ground, steel and bug, grass and bug, dark and fighting, and etc...

@@geminibuffalo924 I think you misunderstood what he meant. The point is he can only use each type once in a single nuzlocke.
I have two theories about why Surskit didn't go for Bubble
1- Viola isn't programmed with Highest AI level, which is weird since she is a gym leader
2- Bubble has a 10% chance to lower your speed. We've seen a lot of times how AI chooses to use lowering speed moves only if the opponent is faster, regardless of this move being an actual attacking move, and since your Rhyhorn was slower than Surskit, she chooses to not use Bubble.
you might me be right but i also heard that the AI (atleast on set mode) choses always a move that one hits the enemy because it knows it but if it calculates that none of the moves can one hit (without crits which are (random)) it choses a random move
@@supremeguy8963 nah it's not like that. In the vast majority of cases, AI chooses the move that does the most amount of damage, If there's more moves that does the most damage or similar amount, then AI chooses between them randomly
Is there a possibility that because it was the first gym it had its AI programmed to lose under certain conditions?

The speed control thing is actually a myth, they might prefer to go for other moves if the move can GUARANTEE speed control but it doesn’t actually prevent them from using that move. FlygonHG’s many runs of Rock-weak Pokemon in Gen III prove this. The actual reason why Surskit went for water sport is because it’s considered a setup move, and high AI levels prefer to use setup moves on the first turn

A point of note during the Korrina fight, Feint is actually a priority move (it bypasses Protect and Detect) which is likely why she used it after you dropped her Speed.
Rock is such an underrated type and honestly I love amaura but my favourite rock type? Deffo aggron it's a big wall but in one dex entry its been known to replant forests after disaster

Ok, hear me out. I am not 100% certain on this, but my friend does rom hacks and he told me the first gym has this weird mechanic imbued into it that makes the early game “less aggressive” and encourages new players to finish the game. How exactly does it work? Idk, but it definitely explains the dumb decisions by the AI.
Imo nintendo probably read the complaints about gen 5 being too hard and decided to make gen 6 easier.

Tyranitar is my favorite Rock type and to think you would nickname this one in the run after my number one favorite band, Aerosmith. I'm glad you kept Tyranitar alive to the end!
I’m surprised you didn’t use Aerodactyl since it’s a fast Rock Type Pokémon,it could help you deal somewhat better against Korrina and Ramos not to mention you can find the Old Amber after you rescue the scientist and gain Rock Smash and after you revive it you can recieve the Aerodactylite immediately afterward by talking to one of the scientists thus giving you a Mega Evolution and a massive power boost

Suraskit didn't see a kill with bubble, somehow, so it randomized the moves and landed on quick attack. After since your hp had not changed it randomized again to water sport.

I swear opponent AI was programmed to throw intentionally to make kids feel better.
I just wish x and y were a bit more challenging, or had a challenge mode, because all the Pokémon they introduced from this Gen are iconic.

have you tried Pokemon Emerald Rogue? its a romhack that turns Pokemon Emerald into a randomly generated roguelike RPG. Trainers, wild Pokemon, gyms, all generate as you play and levels scale accordingly. looks pretty and i would love to see you play it
I feel Gigalith is the only correct answer for favorite Rock types. It is actually one of EXTREMELY FEW that I actually shiny hunted for.

It’s a common thing across the generations that if the AI has a move that can KO, it will use a random move instead, so you got the 3/4 chance it didn’t end your run before it began.
I really love how you write and read your scripts. That's mostly why I watch your videos, it's great, and that why I only watch you and a few other pokemon youtubers. It's really entertaining!

Now Pokemon X & Y has been nuzlocked with every type except Ice.
And Ice will only happen with the help of a relative employed by Nintendo providing the special "Snorunt pre-Viola" edition.

The reason Surskit doesn’t go for Bubble is because the AI level of gym leaders prefer to go for setup moves on the first turn if available (notice how Vivillon used Harden immediately?), and Water Sport is considered a setup move even if it’s useless.

15:37 aaaaand this is why Rock is my least favorite type! I don't hate it, heck I adore Arceops, Carracosta, and Crustle(all of which helped me thru my first Unova playthru), it's just the inaccurate moves(and if they're fully accurate they're less than 60 base power), hella weaknesses, and poor speed that doesn't vibe with me. And they're super effective against Bug which is my favorite type so :^)

I used a Binacle/Barbaracle in a SwSh run and it’s wildly underrated. I never liked it very much until I used it, now it’s a top 3 favorite rock type for me
I haven't done mono type Nuzlockes yet but Rock types have always been a favorite of mine especially Rhydon, when me and my bro got Red and Blue he picked Charmander just because I picked Bulbasaur and it was because of Rhydon that I was able to counter his Charizard, ever since I've always try to have a Rock type on my team

Rock is a very glass-cannony type as far as pure matchups go. Unfortunately, not a lot of Rock Pokémon have stats built for that role. However, I still very much love the type. Gigalith is my favorite. It just looks so cool.
