TS4 is essentially a doll house simulator, not a life sim
You build pretty homes, you dress up the dolls, but there isn’t really anything to do with them except imagine the gameplay was better
911: This is 911, what is your emergency?
Me: Hello?? POLICE THERE IS MURDER SCENE OVER HERE!!
Perfect description. It’s funny how the game was originally going to be a building simulator but the creator thought a life sim would be interesting and now we’re just back to a building simulator with 4
Nope. This is a DLC simulator 😂
The Sims 2 was made with passion, the Sims 3 was made with ambition & the Sims 4………..
With greed.
@@flostafo-chan693 😂 smh
Sims 4 was also made with passion.
The devs ar still the same. The New ep bringst back lots of sims 2 stuff
@@pascalfernandes6957 Yes, but that's just because we, the fans, have been complaining for years about how every pack has been getting money from us, breaking the game even more to the point it even became unplayable for others and for modders to literally make the game work like it should. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate The Sims 4, I think it's amazing and and has tons of potential, but EAs desire of gaining money over their costumers have finally paid for them.

This video convince me that sims 2 has a lot of details and the amount of stuffs make the game feel more alive. It's the only one which has pool physic and a full car animation.
Car animation has been cut because of the ability to place cars anywhere on the lot (although Roaring Heights restorable car did bring back some car animations, so there's a mod that applies them to the BG cars)...
And as for pools, well, diving was only introduced in the 42nd patch, which was probably too late to implement water physics into the game...
@@adrianblake8876 this is the case with most things in TS4
Being half baked at launch really ruined any true potential it had.
This is also why the game breaks any time they try to add major changes. It was just never built to be complex
@@AlexP-dz7ew I was talking about TS3.
TS4 didn't have pools in BG, they were introduced post launch. And they still don't have cars...
I feel you, i think the same
sadly to make sims 4 playable you need to buy some dlc's
Truly sims 2 feels so much more "alive" than than the others
While I do prefer Sims 3 and play that game way more often, I gotta agree with this. Everytime I play Sims 2, I feel amazed by the amount of animations my sims can do in just a few seconds, plus the animations are much more wholesome and lively than the ones in Sims 3 and 4.
Same here .just feels more alive and in-depth.teens sitting around on the floor talking for hours before bed. I like the carpool . And the newspaper delivery .
It absolutely blows me away. It's like they actually paid people to work on that game.
The Sims3 is also pretty behind TS2 but it has a pretty huge excuse...
While Sims 2 was limited in some ways (Closed world, and limited customization), a huge advantage to this is the fact that the devs now had all of the time they wanted to flesh out the games with tons of details, many of which weren't even necessary but they still put them in anyways. This really shows how much passion the Sims 2 devs had for the game.
I guess Sims 3 could be excused for some things due to how they had to make the game's larger scale and Open World work on 2009 PCs, though some things like Couch Physics, Microwave physics, repair animations, and Pizza Physics have no excuse due to how little they impact the game's performance. At least they did make up for it with the huge breadth of content, unparalleled customisation, and other small details not present in Sims 2. Imagine what Sims 3 would've been like if they spent 1 - 2 more years on development though...
Sims 4 on the other hand... it felt like they didn't even try at all, the most performance heavy parts of Sims 3 were removed in this game yet there's a severe lack of details compared to Sims 2 and 3, you would expect a game built on later tech to have more details... Also, it's not like Sims 4 gave us anything to make up for it, sure improved build buy and improved CAS are some things but this is a life sim and this is by far the worst live mode we've ever gotten, plus there's a severe lack of content compared to Sims 3 despite having 70+ DLCs already.
I agree, TS3's downgrades don't bug me as much as TS4's because at least it compensates it with its ambitious novelties!
TS4 had its excuse for its first few years, it was a rushed project that really only had how better it looked going for it (and "smarter sims"), now tho.. no excuse, I wished they hired me or any other simmer who loves TS2 because I have my ideas for TS5..
But if I had to choose between TS3 and TS4, I would definitely choose TS4. The Sims 3 is not designed to run on mainstream consumer hardware.
I really disagree that Sims 2 has limited customisation. You can mod just about anything!
@@Charity322 eh, its limited in body types, skin colors and accessories/separate categories for certain clothing items (shoes and hats)
ts2 strikes the perfect balance between realism and quirkiness. Plus the modding community is STILL active and amazing. It just has a soul that the other games lack in some way.
i agree 100%
Sims 3 is incredible. The depth of features.
Sims 2 and 3: * Sims actually fix electronics *
Sims 4: "Remote controller"
2 by far had the most love put into it. 3 replaced some of the love with ambition, cutting tiny corners to reach for the stars. 4 just cut corners because it could.
Invisible garage in Sims 4 looks super cool
sims 5 will be almost all invisible, giving the excuse for being an open world
@@MrRandomnumbergeneratorNah, if 3 could have garages, they can’t use the Open World excuse XD
And to think it costs $1,175 for all DLC in SIMS 4.
Ya hay que ser bobo para comprar absolutamente todo lo que sacan.
You know you can get it all for free, right??
Sims 2 wins hands down, Sims 3 has similar animations but there is a slight corners are cut. Sims 4 is a whole lot of NOTHING. Even the most mundane things Sims 2 did it so well.
💯💯
Its because they had to. So you could play it on a 2009 potato PC.
@westanimesims your comment is spot-on! It's sad to see the degradation of the Sims franchise...
i could understand sims 3 as that game was super ambitious to create an open world that has the 32 bit limitation (3 gig ram limit). thats like saying sure someone assigned a single dance routine would excel that while the other person who was assigned to do a whole musical play with the same timeframe will have moments that could need improvement. if we add sims 4 in this scenario they just gave up and brought the class dvd viewing.
This! With sims 2 even the base game the gameplay was never boring. It had more life to it, more immersion. So with 3, if we push aside the tiny details they cut off from the game. Sims 4 is something....else.
Sims 3 forever - to be fair with cars in 3, they can be put anywhere on the lot. So, putting your car on a roof or wherever would be weird to animate
Yeah, I agree! 😅
they shouldve at least been animated with cars that were put in garages. or screw that, at LEAST make the driving look good and not turn 90 degree sharp corners, ugly af
And Sims 4 has more packs than Sims 1-3 combined, it's wild. I honestly feel like Project Rene/Sims 5 will be even worse.
That's been cancelled.
@@ElvisLivesUpstairs isn't it just the PS5 port? I've seen some conflicting info regarding TS5 cancelation, but tbh I have no interest in this game either way, lol
By far Sim 2 is my favorite in the series. The love and passion they put into that game can still be felt and seen. That being said, I'm not entirely against the idea of cutting corners, *if* it's in exchange for something better, new or innovative. Sims 2 knew what it could achieve and gave 100% within those boundaries. Sims 3 may have cut corners but it's because it was trying to be so ambitious. I'm not going to be too upset about missing car animations when I can drive my chosen vehicle around the world to any chosen destination. The animations of grocery shopping is something I'm willing to forgo if it means my sim can actually walk/drive/bike to the grocers without a loading screen. It's a fair exchange for some.
But with sims 4... I don't see what the 'cutting corners' served outside of saving the company money. There was a time when I could argue that it was the easiest game to play, the least fussy. But not anymore. It's complete bugged out mess with many of the features players have paid for not even working. What was the point of cutting all those corners? Can't even give it credit for being prettier when that's something any game can achieve with time.
Preach
The sims 3 with sims 1 vibe (grew up with sims 1 and 3), sims 2 details animation etc, sims 4 cas, build/buy and gallery, and with better-looking sims (not uncanny) is my ideal sims game...
TS3 worlds, TS1 humor, TS2 details, TS4 cas/bb, and TSM sims 👨🍳💋
@@apocalyptic3837 yesss TSM sims is like the better version of TS3 sims, just make it more modernn
I love Sims 3, and it deserves it flowers. Some of its shortcoming you can blame on the change of gameplay loop (live in an open world and explore a town vs. help the Sims complete their Aspiration in life while avoid tragedy in Sims 2) and technical limitations to bring that to life. But in some ways, I can't help but feel it was the delayed flop of the Sims series. Cars popping in and out, loss of animations and interactions, the STORE (what, $72,000 vs. Sims 4's $7,000).
@@Isaac-vq9gw Sims 4 is just trash.
I played them a couple years ago but then I returned to the true Sims 3 and I've never opened the Sims 4 after that day. I really love the 3's
honestly, live in an open world and explore town isnt even a good excuse considering almost every building is a rabbit hole anyway :/ and its not like car driving is made nicely either.. and the buildings that arent rabbit holes is basically the same as sims 2 community lots so... i guess you'd say the only difference is you skip a loading screen but in the long run it wasnt eve worth it with all the lag anyways
@@auzzpanda3497i think that Sims 3 open world is a game changer. You can go whenever and wherever you want, if you want to go to a place that isn't a solar you also can, recollect stones, bug, fishing in ponds...
It gives you that kind of freedom that you want when you play because you can do whatever you want.
It is a fact that Sims 3 precreated houses are nice looking, and each one has its own personality, which doesn't exist in the 4's, where every house is an as5hole honestly
@nachorubiolubian yeah it's definitely a plus but as I said it's all a bunch of rabbit holes anyway so it's not THAAAT huge of a plus considering the lag it brought. Also collecting bugs ok sure but not really an award winning activity
@@auzzpanda3497 In my case I've never had lag playing the Sims 3, so I can say nothing about that
Sims 3: with the expansion pack of ambitions, you could actually play as a firefighter. Too bad you did not show that.
Ambitions is probably the one of the best next to Late night, it gives careers (professions) that the player can interact with and various hobbies, something sims 4 just stretched over multiple pricey expansions with less depth.
glad you touched on the walking animation
To be fair, if the price for an open world is less animations, it's completely fine. Sims 3 for ever ❤
Gotta agree with this, if I had to lose some details just to get an Open World, I wouldn't mind at all, it would be horrible being stuck with closed world life sims for a while longer. Although someday I do wish that there will be a life sim that combines the depth + details of Sims 2 with the scale + breadth + customisation of Sims 3.
TS3 is one kind of a game! ❤
The amount of content & endless posibilities, makes it a bliss to play!
It was literally a comfort game I used to go back to whenever I felt underwhelmed & disappointed with TS4 (back when I still believed it would somehow become an enjoyable game 💀)

Agreed.
@@Atsuhiko8888totally agree
Sims 3 will always remain my favorite sims game. I agree that some of the cool details that where in the sims 2 weren't implemented back in, but I think it was for the best since sims 3 is an open world. It wasn't out of laziness but more like for the sake of optimization. And it's still a fun game nonetheless althrough I fully undersand why people would prefer sims 2. Sims 2 and sims 3 are both good for their own reasons. Sims 4, however, has no excuses.
Для меня тоже открытый мир симс 3 ценнее мелких деталей в симс 2.
i find the sims in 3 much more lifeless and robotic than 2. open world couldn't fix that for me.
@@freudianslippers6567I get it but at least the sims 3 improved in countless areas, it was ambitious. Not that the sims 2 wasn’t, it was a huge leap.
I'm curious to see how they want to dumb down Sims 5 / Project Rene compared to Sims 4.
I know it won't be easy. But if anyone can do it, it's EA...
Don't even get me started!! 😭😭
housers will have invisible walls + invisible chairs, due to the new rendering game engine, ultra open world so they must cut corners
It will probably be subscription based, pay per day or something knowing EA that wouldn't shock me
i am so glad i'm a sims 2 girly, grew up playing it so much in my childhood and i still play it from time to time now. it's the best sims game!
same. I still play Sims2 and 3. I uninstalled the sims4
My niece started playing sims 2 at 5 years of age and now is 18 still plays it and sims 3 to this day. She tried playing my sims 4 On ps5 and she said it’s broke . And went back on my pc to play sims 2 or 3 .
helicopter was such a flex
Sims 2 will always be the winner, no doubt! Sims 3 has its own charm too, but Sims 2 is so memorable and paid so much attention to the smallest details, it's unmatched. Sims 4 is just an empty husk, so lifeless and unfinished...
Sims 2 is the gold medal winner, sims 3 is the silver, sims 1 is the historic honorable mention and sims 4 is still trying to book the the hotel room to stay in durinh the event.
Man.... We had it so good with TS2.... We really need a port of it.
Also, I'm only slightly okay with TS3's car teleportation because then I can put my car wherever and it can be used. I don't have to worry about pathing and making sure it's fully accessible.
Though if TS2 got ported, I'm sure someone would make a mod that does the same thing.
Sims 3 lacked animations, but at least the world felt alive... sims 4 fails at both things 😩
That Sims 4 guy waiting for something all day 😂
The repair animation, cooking, and the teleporting plates and glasses in ts4 makes me so mad, couldn’t they just borrow animations from previous games if they were gonna be so lazy?
I like how there's different hidden traits in the sims 3 and it's very nostalgic for me. It's also very fun to play without the loading screens like the sims 4. The relationships between younger sims also had some life to it to be able to go to different lots and run around them without being limited to a square box of a lot. There's some other animations to that are great in the sims 3. It feels a bit more alive to me and I myself don't really remember what the inside of stores look like or care about those animations. It gives a great setting for family activities. 😅
Loss of detail at least made sense in TS3 because the game made up in other ways, more customization, bigger worlds, more variety.
TS4 is just a step back on all fronts
I started playing the Sims 2 again thanks, to @Keeyuh on here, and I forgot just how much fun and alive that game is ! I mean I made my sim start off in college, she got engaged while on her senior year of college on Twikki Island, graduated, had an engagement party, got married (and all the sims actually sat and clapped at the wedding) got careers (drive themselves to work they, both have cars ❤) got a pet dog, fish, and a bird, 3 kids, and one on the way 😊, and my game runs so smooth, and loads so fast, and the DETAILS make it so much better. Like the Sims 4 COULD NEVER 😂, You would think that the Sims 4 would be equal or better, and it's the WORST in the franchise. Yikes. I've always said if the developers gave us the entire Sims 2 game, but gave it Sims 4 graphics and CAS items, the sims team could've retired YEARS ago 🤷🏽♀️
Sims 4 Is basically teleport ing
The Sims 2 had love.
The Sims 3 had ambition.
The Sims 4 had greed.
Ts4 sucks...
Atleast on pc there’s mods and cc but it’s worse on console .
@@kingkushezio2581 I can imagine
It's true that Sims 3 doesn't have a lot of the animations, but it was also in an open world. Plus it's in the base game whereas in Sims 2. It was introduced in 'NightLife' EP.
If you have For Rent, the Sims 4 has burglars, but they are the player's sims. Also, there is a mod that brings them back as NPCs.
Sims 4 team could make Vlad behave like a burglar and evilly drink blood out of your Sim but couldn't get Burglar NPC to work. FML
It is to underline that some animations being cut in the sims 3 and rabbitholes did fit since the open world system couldn't become THAT heavy. Like ok, you don't show me all the starting the engine process but you show me a car crossing a whole city. To me both 2 and 3 are cool
a dream come true would be a game with sims 2 animations, sims 3 content, and sims 4 graphics
О, нет! Мне не нужна пластмассовая графика симс 4, где всё напоминает домики Барби.
@@user-ko3qc5dh4ki love sims 4 but the graphics look so…whatever, im glad somebody finally said that! I only play with mods because the content already in the game looks very…also whatever
Nooo! Not the clay hair 😭😭😭
I never understood why sims 3 didnt just add driving out of the parking lot if they’re gonna drive around the town to a location anyways 😂
I get why - they would have to do a LOT of coding to try and anticipate where people would be putting their cars because they don’t even have to be near the road like Sims 2’s spaces are required to be.
Sims 2 and Sims 3 had a lot more game play. I have to use mods to keep me interested in playing Sims 4.
I mean, for my, Sims 3 are the best, for all they have and how they combine that
I don't want the sims 5, I want a sims 2 remake! Same game with latest graphics.
love your vids!!! it's insane how the sims 2 came out 20 years ago and it's still the best game in the franchise
THANK YOU. As much as I LOVE sims 3, i think it has started a lot of shortcut trends in life simulation game design!
Obviously, for sims 3, it was a product of its time that had less to work with, but the excuses for sims 4 and the games that follow its blueprint, it is lazy work!
The Sims4 is embarrasing at this point
I just played the Sims 2 for the first time in ten years and honestly it’s so chaotic and hilarious. I loaded up the game and my sims instantly started brawling.
In The Sims 4 : They also have different walk styles
That nobody has ever used or cared about or asked for 😅
Sims 4: I would say with the grocery store thing the closest you would have is either 'get to work' ep, In which you can sort of have a grocery store. By selling it. You also have those tables that you can do for yard sales. There's also the market in cottage living.
Mind y'all, Sims 2 came out in 2004!
I can forgive the Sims 3 having less specifc details since they did have to make it "work" on open world, yet, the sims 4 has no open world, and yet has worse details than sims 3!! Like jeeze, you scaled back the world, and didn't even add anything back.....well they did...in dlcs and packs, and junk for like 999.99 for like a set of three chairs.
This what you get of firing experienced workers for so called cost-cutting-but-CEO's-belly-filling strategy and hiring multiple freshers for the same cost
The Sims 3 is a great game, but I find it disappointing how many people are ignoring the laziness EA displayed with the car animations. I didn't like how the Sims would teleport in and out of the car and for the car to disappear from the driveway. The Sims 2 was spot-on with the car animations and other aspects as well. Even though it may have had some limitations, it was still a great game and still is. Other than that, both games are good. Unfortunately, I find The Sims 4 boring.
Frankly I’m okay with the car thing because it sounds like a nightmare for them to figure out where any unconventionally places driveways are.
Oh how I love ts2.
The only reason I can play sims 4 for hours now, it's because it has tons of gameplay mods, and yet, it deson't have the same amount of details as 2 and it shows sometimes (even with heavy mods)
A devolution, indeed!
To be honest for the sims4 u need so many packs to stuff u want to do Frr without packs the sims4 boring fr but with the sims3 without pack is fun and u can do so much i never played the sims2 so i can’t say much on it but sims2 seen like really fun and a lot of detail compared to the sims4 i would definitely try to get my hands on the sims2
Sims 4 is deliberately that way because it gives the developer excuse to create separate features as dlc
The reason why I stayed for Sims 4 is for the community.
It’s really sad seeing this and thinking that the Sims 4 could have been so much better if it didn’t cut corners so much.
The perfect Sims would be the one that has TS2 gameplay depth and non-buggy DLCs, TS3’s open world and TS4’s QoL features.
But alas, the game industry has no passion anymore… due to laziness and/or corporates greed that kills any devs motivation to hone their craft.
The walking animations in sims 2 look natural. In the other 2 it looks unnatural. I liked the graphics and cartoon style of sims 2, it had a great balance between quirky and realistic and with mods it can be made even better looking if someone wants to modernise it. Love the wants based system, don't really like the moodlets from later 2 sims games. Open world was nice but loading screens don't bother me. Do house stuff during loading screens and stretching legs.
sims2 was more detail than sims3 and sims4
This video would make much more sense and be much less confusing if the three different screens were labeled
unpopular opinion but the car animations for sims 4 is probably my favorite
You know of they bring cars back you'd have to pay for it
you even have to pay for a vacuum cleaner and thats then the only thing you get not even a broom or something🤣 It’s looking like sims “free”play now 😅
@@LianeCarinaNothing like freeplay.
@@nervousheadache there you can buy those little stuff too right
the sims 2 is the most detail ever and made by heart not profit , the sims 4 is only made for profit with the tons of dlc
The Sims 4 is $h¡t and the people who made it know that. They just wanted to make the least efforts and make a max of money. They knew they just have to smack "The Sims" on it and it will sell with no problem even if it's trash (same with Pokémon, but with Pokémon it's slightly less worst).
Sims 3: The grocery stores are a rabbit hole, however It was the base game, Sims 2 Open for business.
Actually, TS2 had grocery stores, game stores and even book/magazine stores in the base game
in my opinion cooking in the sims 2 was badly devolved in the sims 4 because you see him getting the pans and different utensils out whereas in the sims 4, things kinda just teleports into their hands
You are on EA’s NECK with these videos I am living
The devolution of the pizza is so sad.
Sims 2 - has better animations, physics, interactions, some models and textures.
Sims 3 - has better shadows
Sims 4 - more cartoony than other parts of the Sims (however, Sims 4 overall graphics obviously looks better, but it uses less details than Sims 2)
Sims 1 will hold a special place always. Out of the whole franchise Sims 2 was better imo. I played a lot of Sims 3 as well and it was in its way also good. I will not spend a dime on Sims 4 - sorry.
Sims 2 Will always be the BEST🙂
true! always will be, they will never make a better sims, we know it, sims 4 is the proof of it
Wish sims 2 had the sims 4 graphics.......... and build mode
Con mis sims 3 no te vas a estar metiendo 😂 bueno igual encantan los sims 2 y 4, pero la dos de verdad que esos detallazos lo son todo❤ This is a good video!
So basically for the next game they should merge the 3 games. Sims 2 for all the details that feels realistic, open world and fun from Sims 3, building features from Sims 4.
the chopping anims for ts4 pisses me off sooo bad bc these are adults but theyre cutting like absolute babies??? in ts2, even if ur culinary skills are low, they dont cut like absolute children handling a knife for the first time
Sims 5 would be great if it had graphics and build mode like 4, open world, some CAS features that aren’t on 4 such as zodiac, color wheel, and the materials and designs, and all the love and extra animations like 2. What else can you think of? I hope paralives does all this and much more us sim players aren’t familiar with.
They should've taken their time with The Sims 4 it mightve been better if they did
I got a new idea for sims4 1000th DLC!!
Call "Real Living".
The gameplay is : buy groceries, robber and school bus!!
Sims 2 guy stole the shopping basket and put it in his fridge brooo 😂
2:30 that burp caught me off guard 😭
After the sims 2 was made. They became very lazy with gameplay specifics and details. They care more abouy packs and money than they do the actual game play experience.
8:27 - Proof that TS3 has the best looking sims. TS4 ones look like clay figures with the stupid grin most of the time. 😩
If TS2 had a search bar and tags on the bb, I'd 'never' play TS4 again...
the sims 4 footage, im dying kkkkkkkkkkkkkk
SIMS4 is absolute laziness they didn't even give a damn about repairing animations a bit he just literally pull out a imaginary component and starts fixing it while in SIMS 3 at least he is fixing the thing and in SIMS 2 he is rotating and playing with it which suggest he is trying to find and fix a problem more believable. Also kids interactions in 2 look better more alive in 3-4 it's like "...." so boring.
At this rate the Sims 5 will just pull fully cooked meals immediately from the fridge. Then Sims 6 will just click on the fridge and automatically fill hunger meter. Then Sims 7 will just not have needs to take care of.
Справедливости ради: симс 3 с открытым миром, там не на одном участке кипит жизнь и такая проработанность, как в симс 2, просто бы не позволила запустить симс 3 вообще ни на каких пк
yes wow sims 2 has garages how revolutionary
sims 3 has much more gameplay content compared it definitely not a downgrade
Sadly 3 didnt have realistic genetic system
@@janpetercok7315 yes because it brought full range of skintones color wheel hair colors but there are still mods to fix the genetics system

They reused alot of the animations from sims 2 in the sims 3 why couldn't they reuse the cool cooking animations and pizza delivery in the sims 3.
the car animation though...
My sim rides a bike everywhere in the sims 4 😂
I would LIKE to SEE a grocery store pack of some type be made for Sims 4. They have a shopping food store in Sims 2 so I think IF we could have something like that in sims 4 and have those kinds of items like they did in sims 2 than players who play Sims 4 like myself and other players Could Create our OWN grocery store and have our Sims go grocery shopping. I think that would be pretty cool as well as give the Sims 4 base game MORE of a good game play. Just a thought though. But what do you guys on here think? Does anyone who plays Sims 4 think we SHOULD have a grocery store pack? Like either a game pack or Exspansion pack? Let me know your thoughts here in comments. 👍✌
You want to pay for that feature? Are you crazy
I wonder if EA-people are watching such videos and will think over the devolution of The Sims ... I'm afraid they don't
even if they did the people working on the new sims and stuff were probably not there at the beginning and even if they were they proofed to us that they don’t care at all and do whatever they want and not what we want
This is actually devolution of humanity itself :)
Everything faced the same faith. Unfrotunately, this is how it suppose to be in our times. Stay strong, people
Sims 2 is the best Sims game. That's it.
Yes, it seems to be common in many different mediums aswell...🫤
Right? You can see how the game devolved in parallel to how society devolved, I love playing Sims 2 because overall it shows life in the most realistic way and every aspect of the game feels valuable
Someone send this to EA please
So... next video should be an evolution of The Sims 🤔😀
