PLEASE NOTE: This is version 1 of this build. I am still testing many things and have found various bugs and lots of stuff that does not work as intended. ALSO, i am still testing different builds. This is geared more towards single target with aoe coming from ray of frost with glowing flames. i will make updated videos when i change stuff.

@@Thesinofwrath1313 alot of the encounters in the acanist are bugged and dont proc weapon enchantments at all so until they fix it its entirely useless. even then for my playstyle i think thaum is the best option.

ALSO: The summoned companion i am using in on my build i forgot to mention is the RED DRAGON ION STONE. it is an augment companion like the bullette pup gives 3100 less power but looks much cooler!!! A fireball circling a wizards head is perfect! ;)

The Assist Man I have a question though, even though my DPS is higher I’m noticing I’m not getting that aoe dmg from ray of frost? Mind you I’m lvl 57 and don’t have all the talents yet. Is that why?

used your build guide and turned my hardest to play character into one of the easiest. Thanks. I do not have all the gear and equipment required to max things out but just using your guide for what to slot in for enchantments and skills has toughened up my wizard immensely. Reached level 74 with 12,362 item level and not having any problems with any of the solo content.

This video helped me a lot in mod 16 but for some reason no other guide or cw in-game is using this. Especially the lostmauth set. I saw nobody with that, but it did feel really good the past weeks. I'm a little bit confused now, since I'm top dps almost every time now, but some 24k cw were still trying to recommend better builds to me. Yesterday I had 4,7 million more damage than a 22,6k cw (I'm 20,6k). I would like an update very much too :)
what powers are u using on this build?

@@akagabriel9944 I see many cw using it but I'm not using it anymore since mod16. If it doesn't crit it's so less damage.. so probably only useful with very much aoe use

The stuff about the lostmauth set is not correct.
It is an additional weapon damage hit. So you don't hit twice, you just do an extra hit that equals your weapon damage.
On top of that it only procs on initial hits. So it doesn't work for dots, ray of frost, etc.
It also only procs from powers. So smolder for example does not proc it.
Since crit chance is capped at 50%, it also only procs on half of the hits.
So overall demo set is outperforming lostmauth by quite a bit. It has been tested by multiple people and there is also a lot of numbers, graphs and other stuff on the internet about it.

Try some tenebrous (only need one or two). It'll boost your dps signigicantly, particularly with lightning enchant for increased procs. Also, I think the vorpal is best for burst damage as the %increase scales well for big hit daily and encounter crits. Lightning is fun though.
lightning massively does more damage, tenebrous got nerfed hard and barely make much difference to me. just my opinion
also when you dont crit, which happens often, then what does the vorpal do? nothing
@@TheRealAssistMan I dunno man. Maybe consol works different to pc, but I have done a couple hours logging with ACT (before and after tene nerf), both just at wills, and with whole rotation - vorpal comes out better for me. Before the tene nerf, lightning + tene came close, but for the long game vorpal pulls ahead for me. Anyways ymmv. At the end of the day wizards are in a good place atm and thats what matters most.
i feel they got better for aoe and worse for single target. i liked them more in mod 15 for sure but its still good in mod 15
Wow looks like I have got a lot of work to do on my cw lol, thx for the video, I have been struggling with my cw build for a long while now, trying to work out all the kinks . I stopped playing after mod 13 and just came back to it after mod 16 came out, so I've been playing catch up trying to get my cw working again. Will definitely try out this build. Oh man I got a very long grind session coming to pick up all the equipment and items I need lol!
And that's the issue, we shouldn't have to be doing this because you already know, 6 months from now, they're going to strip characters down and ask you to rebuild what you just rebuilt yet again. That is the history of this developer.

Hi. U have some responsibility to your viewers. Your words has some weight and as you know, they change the market. Pls be carefull before you determine what's BIS. the prices for this (garbage) set went sky rocketing. I invested valuable AD, RP, PRES WARDS and REAGENTS just to find out after testing that the lostmauth set is far inferior to the orcus set.
like i said its my build. you dont have to use it. i am using it and i will continue to use it until i get the tales of the old set to replace it. my testing has shown that it does more damage so i am keeping it. i have had multiple people test it as well and they came to the same thing that it outperforms the orcus set. so thats your opinion and i gave mine.

Question about the lightning enchantment, does it have any effect on single targets? Seems to me if you're fighting a single target or if the mobs are out of range of the arcs the enchant wont have any effect. Also does it proc the tenebrous enchant?
it does to damage to single target. but vorpal will do more for single target. thing is most of the boss fights have adds as well so it still helps. i never switch it out. everything just melts anyway. no it does not proc the tene enchant lol i wish, i tested it. at least it dont on xbox

If you switch the first feat to the one that speeds encounters it actually makes a big difference to encounter CDs on boss fights where you're constantly keeping up chill with RoF. The tooltip says 10% max but it seems the actual mechanics of its proccing makes a bigger increase.
there are a lot of bugs with the class. lots is not working right. i tested it. on average it makes my encounters come back about 1-2 seconds faster so its not much. on the other hand if you use the one im using you get your daily back about 25-30% faster. on average with it on my daily comes back in about 41 secs without it my daily comes back in about 55 secs.
Lol yeah but in lomm imagine how many extra encounters u can cast with that 2 sec of cooldowns vs what maybe 2 maybe 3 more dailies
@@MrPiffy It turns out that the feat is bugged so you get just over 50% CD reduction at max chill stacks and so its by far the best feat of the 2 just now. Unfortunately its getting fixed in M17 though so I don't know how things will be then.

Great build man! I tested this out and it has upped my damage output like crazy. Especially love that I can avoid the vorpal bandwagon! 😄
One question... For me, the icy rays is really underwhelming. What do you think about swapping it out for entangling force and using Skyblade kobolds discipline to up damage output by 10%? Entangling force has nearly the same magnitude and a slightly quicker cooldown.
thx, i actually stopped using icy rays as well recently and now use entangling force as well. i tried conduit of ice and while it is great for aoe it only great IF it crits. when it doesnt crit to apply smolder it absolutely sucks. so i am using entangling as well now. as far as slyblade i dont recommend as its not gonna be much since you are only going to have 1 target held at a time
@@TheRealAssistMan Yeah I came to the same conclusion with Skyblade. After testing it, Im not sure its even working. I was making bigger hits by slotting extra power instead.

Just a question, is the stalwart golden lion still worth using, or neverwinter guard archer(whom i already have) who gives power in utility slot
the lion can only be used without an augment pet since it has to attack to proc. i dont recommend to use a non augment pet as then hitting stat caps is very difficult

I just want to input my thoughts in here and note Im not trying to change your mind of anything just want to throw my opinion out there. I have also done many hours of testing and I play on pc.
I agree lostmauth is a great set to use but the baphomet set is still going to scale way better since lost only goes off of weapon damage. The baphomet set now gives you 1% dmg inc with every 5% difference in hp so around 50% difference you get 10% increase.
As for the the vorpal/lightning thing, I have no clue how you did your tests but you will be seeing a lot higher numbers when you crit with your encounter powers and not just your at wills. Also I use advance combat tracker which I assume you can't use on console so I will say this right now your smolder is going to be the bulk of your damage with repel not to far behind so having that 50% extra crit serv is going to be so huge once you get your gear rolling in.
Also if your power is crazy high like around the 150-160k mark it might be worth using the primal isongos gloves but that is just a suggestion the testing I have done when I was at 160k power showed the primals to be a tad bit ahead of the terrors.
I highly suggest you check out the hunting hawk for utility instead of alpha compy because even if your at 180k power before alpha its only around a 9k power increase while the hunting hawk at legendary is a 4-5% damage increase at melee range.
Also the death slaad has been tested so much by a lot of different people at legendary it was making up around 10-12% of my damage seriously this companion is a huge sleeper and I think you should give it the time of day. Note that this is only good at like epic or legendary anything lower is probably not worth using.
Everything else we have different I just think is a personal choice and I won't get into it because in all fairness it doesn't matter but I will say that this is very similar to what I've been running even before the game was released on console. but like I said this is just my input not trying to change your mind just my opinion.
i still like the lostmauth set more cause of the action point gain of 4% on the neck you get which demogorgo does not give you and the 2 dex for 2 crit severity i feel it overall is the better choice.
im still not sold on on vorpal i do much more damage with my play style with lightning i use ray of frost constantly.
my power is around 200k now there is nothing that can out do 3% more damage that would take close to 9000 power to equal.
i am thinking about the hunting hawk just the tooltip is so vague i dont understand it well. so you do max damage the closer you get not the farthest i assume?
nah man its good, thats what makes the game fun is different builds and diversity, sadly with this mod they took out most of the diversity and made some things a must use so alot of people are running the same stuff lol
also, just put a hunting hawk to legendary. from my testting on xbox it is about a 8% damage increase at average distance and about a 6% damage increase at very close range and even more further away. but it only works on at wills. does not add any damage to encounters, smolder or dailies. But, i think the average 2% loss on encounters, dailies and smolder is not that big of a deal to get about 85-10% more damage on at wills which i use the most. this is on xbox so if you are on pc are you getting it to increase your smolder and encounters? cause its not for me. also, as far as death slaad goes i have been using it for the past week now fater i made that video testing more stuff and yes i do like it alot.

if you play the standard way sure. but the way i play in this build multi proccing ray of frost does better for me cause the lostmauth set procs a ton

Lostmauth set only works on initial hits not DoT damage. It's been tested many times you're right demo set stil BiS for pure dps.
You should definitely slot chilling presence, and run either COI or IT. Also I’m liking relative haste.
And I’ve been running dexterity over charisma, the recharge speed is not noticeable, and the crit severity is decent especially with the movement boost. I will try the lightning, I think the Xbox combat log is a little buggy to test with.
i sometimes use it but just hate how long it takes to come back again. i dont like coi anymore.
yeah i actually have been thinking about switching over to dex just for the movement speed alone cause i hate how slow i am lol
@@TheRealAssistMan if you test coi on act on pc it averages to the same damage as repel once you factor in crits proccing rimefire on each tick. You need all 8 hits to tick to get this damage from it though, and also its only an average over a number of hits so its better on longer fights. Its good on lomm last boss for example though, as you can hit the boss and the scorpion adds at the same time so its like an aoe with the damage of repel (on average)
Hi, my wizard is arcanist, do you have any idea about the powers I should use?
I'm a newer player and want to get a good wizard build, I just don't know if I should buy and or farm for low level/old gear because I want to atleast get 20k so I can try MadMage. My question is: should I just get the older gear and do "more damage" or just try and get higher iLVL? Any comments would be appreciated

Dumb question but where do you get the weapon sets from????
Undermountain MEs. Is where you get the best in slot alabaster weapon set. You can get it based on an RNG drop when you finish the last mission of the undermountain. When you finish it you can accept and complete the quest 3 times for a chance to get it. The reason alabaster is BIS cause of the set bonus and the general stats on it. Bosses in MEs also can drop high lvl gear and a lot of it could be the next to best in slot so do your MEs 3 daily.
You get the undermountain weapon set when you play the mission "an important invitation" and start the undermountain.

What about the brutal and the vicious enchantments? At rank 10 thevicious enchantment is 700 power and armor pen, the brutal at rank 9 is 600 power and crit.
you wont need any armor pen or crit at all. you get it all from gear and companions
Would Eyestalker wraps be a good alternative or terrored grips are still better?
depends on how many snipers equip bonus you have as they only stack 2 times but yes
I just got back into this game and was wondering what would be another great alternative race rather than Dragonborn for the wizard?
there are plenty of cool options, tiefling or half orc are good options. but at the end of the day its your preference cause you might not like the way they look. lol

One armor enchantment I was curious about was the loamweave. It's probably not the best,but it's only available through exchange. Any chance you could figure out if it works properly or how effective it is at max rank?
Loamweave enchantment do physical dmg neither cw don't do physical dmg
Barkshield bloodtheft elven are better choice for cw
I have the loamweave...about all it does for you is occasionally cages one of your opponents . I still use it because it's all I have but it's not the best in slot
What should we use for overload slots?

I see you say this Is version 1. I inspect you in yawning and you always have the demo set. You also say this is based on single target but say lightning is best because of the arc. If this is more based on single target how are the arcs relevant? I see the damage you do so it is kind of hard to doubt you but something's raise questions.
I never use demo set. i have been testing a few sets recently and i wear a different one for the past few weeks but i stayed on lostmauth. the build is built around using ray of frost 90% of the time for single target and making it also aoe with the lightning and smolder that jumps and spreads from the target you have ray of frost on
For reals man, try the stalwart lion instead of compy. Now that I have actually tested it on mod 16 it is a beast in all regards. And if you are worried about it dying... it most definitely won't , 600k HP!!
it on;y works if you use a fighting companion and i use an augment. it will not work with an augment
@@TheRealAssistMan the 10% damage as radiant damage is it's equip bonus. No joke. The other one is when it uses it's roar, it is still good though, 2 stacks = 4% additional damage, 8 stacks = 16% additional damage, and thats in addition to the 10%. So 14% to 26% damage increase...from one companion! At least 4 people need to have the lion out for the 26%, 14% solo. So if the math equals out and 3% damage is equal to roughly 8000 power then that lion is equivalent to (14%) 37,333 power, (26%) 69,333. Do you see what I mean with the company comparison with the alpha compy? And you can still use your augment with lion and put the Lions power into your utility slot at 10% additional damage. I'm sure you have one, just give it a shot. FYI, the radiant damage will show separately just like the lostmaouth set damage.
just did. its not working at all. the only time to get it to work is when i summon it. when i have the utility bonus on over the compys it shows nothing extra in the combat log.
its equip bonus says 50% chance on companion use. meaning augments cant use powers

lostmauth set is best when you attack very fast like if you are using a lot of fast casting at wills. the more you can proc it the better. if you attack slow demeogorgon set will be better

Im confused, if all ur doing is stacking power, how are u meeting all your caps? I pretty much have the same stuff as you, but no where close to all my caps
your companions will help you alot. do you have all the right companion gear? bonding runestones at 15? that makes a huge difference

i wouldnt use the lostmauth set since you dont have a fast casting channeling ability like ray of frost, use baphomets set

yes you want to make sure to do that as well
What are the best classes besides the dlc ones?
There aren't dlc classes. All classes are availabel for free. The only exclusives are races and a lot of classes have different races that work best for it. So look up guides for your specific class. For CW it goes dragonborn then tefling

But as i said if ýou plan on having a second toon look up a few guides to see which race you like the look of before just choosing 🙂 imo i-d rather have a cool looking character but sacrifice a bit of power so i'd just pick which one i like and aslo is good for my class. Most the human and elf races can be made to look very simmilar too.
You are saying 68k, but you have much lower that that on your stat sheet. Can you explain that, please?

starting with gear doesn't seem like the right thing to do to me at least
doesnt make a difference where you start its where you end. also, gear is the most important part of any build as it can make up nearly 20% more damage for you with the right stuff
