PPL would rather play something else that isnt ps5 exclusive. I cant even think of a PS5 exclusive that performed that much better than rebirth and 16. Spiderman which was considered a great game accross the board and won some awards at the VGS, how much did it sell? only 2.5m copies.

Thatâs a bummer I put like 130hrs into FF7 Rebirth. I loved it and thought it was masterful but Iâm just thankful that they made it and will buy the 3rd one.
I think itâd be a shame if they skip reviewing it because itâs easily GOTY potential and thatâs underselling it, they donât know what theyâre missing out on!

I mean, FF7 Rebirth is not only a sequel, it is literally part 2, which means their only audience to begin with are people who played through the first part. Played through as in actually played through, not just bought and then never touched. Playing Rebirth before playing the first game would be like reading a book from the middle.

Probably very niche and not something you guys would cover, but LittleBigPlanet got its servers shut down after 16 years of Community content, due to hackers, and without a real warning or time to download everything.
A lot of people are saddened and furious about this, even the OST composer (who is the Spider-Verse composer) spoke about this.
People compared it to the Library of Alexandria (sounds ridiculous but a LOT of content is just gone). It's a bit like if CZcams removed all of its videos.

@SpikeTheWolf I'm not too sure about it all, but the first 2 games got officially shut down some time ago, due to hackers and Sony (or whoever) not being able to fix the servers.
LBP 3 was the only game people could play to access their old levels. That got hacked in January, the peeps running the servers said they would fix it, they then announced a few days ago that they are officially shutting the servers down indefinitely.
There are rumors of LBP 4, but nothing even close to official.
Hopefully they cover this at some point tbh

The amount of things you can do in part 2 with mini games is insane and the world is absolutely massive and itâs all high quality. With part 1 and 2 you easily have 150-180 hours of content. Part 3 could add another 70-100 hours of content on top of that. There is no $70 game that gives more than 200 hours of high quality content.

I think you are overestimating the PC market. Console still is the best performing place for the type of RPG FFVII rebirth is trying to be. Will it sell? Yes, absolutely. But don't expect it to magically sell the missing millions by just being on Steam, specially after months of being already out.

FF7 Rebirth is one of those games where everyone knows it's a fantastic game but Square has been having issues lately due to making them all timed gated exclusives and pc players having to wait an entire year (which always kills hype) it's something that needs to change. There's a reason FF15 sold as well as it did. It released on both consoles at launch.

The main reason I think FF7 underperforms is because it requires players to play through remake to enjoy, that and itâs only a ps5 release at the moment and a lot of people still donât have one because of the mess it had at release and the lack of games on it.

Ff7 rebirth is an incredible game. Takes me back to the golden age of gaming. They have honestly done the original so much justice. Its what a game should be. Hours of endless fun
It was a great game! Only gripe I had was the impact of the ending wasnât as great as when it happened in the original.
The problem for this is because its trilogy people like me just wait for the third game to buy the game
Itâs fantastic, and so much fun content. I didnât like how FF16 gutted out a lot of the RPG mechanics and made combat too easy. FF rebirth was almost everything I loved in a FF.
I think playing all 3 back to back would be exhausting though, and risk burn out, so itâs nice to actually wait and build expectation again. But hopefully the wait is not too long.

Why is Rebirth selling worse? Simple. Less people have PS5's than people had PS4's when Remake came out. Some people also didn't like the narrative changes that Remake made, so obviously less people will buy Rebirth.

FF7R was a fantastic game. It really was. Sadly, youre right, it was completely undermarketed and kinda stealthed itself into the market and noone noticed. But i cant stress enough, its a very very good game.
A lot of fans are mad about the stupid timeline changes they did as they wanted a proper remake that was faithful which SE said it would be only to pull this crap and angered fans.

Ayo. I love you guys and I pretty much watch every impressions video, angry review, rapid fire, and news video you post. But when AJ said he is taking a break from doing a review for April...I have to say....bruh...you barely ever put out angry reviews anymore lol. They used to be your bread and butter but now you do all this other content. Which is great don't get me wrong. But you honestly don't do enough of those anymore xD
Heâs constantly complaining about his workload but looking at the content being released it seems very low effort. Not inherently a bad thing since moist critical has extremely low effort content. But I donât understand why joe feels so rundown. As if heâs doing a lot of busy work that doesnât actually move the needle.
Obsidian is the most logical successor to Larian for Baldur's Gate 3.
There's multiple reasons why Rebirth has low sales.
1. There's nowhere near as many ps5 as ps4 that remake had.
2. Rebirth only has a 3 month console exclusivity. A decent amount of people are probably waiting for the PC version.
3. Square has been making some bad games and with all their NFT talk. Makes people not have faith in them.
4. The game had some really annoying issues at launch. I'm sure a bunch of people are waiting until those are fixed.
5. Square keeps making their biggest games exclusive to playstation. It's a stupid move to keep expensive triple A games to one console. There's no way Sony is paying more than what the PC and xbox version would've made them.
Or get this, games are now 70 bucks. Most people refuse to pay that and wait for a sale.
What issues I had zero problems

@@mattwiper The game is really blurry on performance mode. Especially in Costa Del Sol. They somewhat fixed the blurriness after a update. The lighting can make characters look creepy at certain points. I feel like I missed out on this game because of how bad it can look at times. I definitely want to play the PC version when it comes out. Playing it at max settings will make it look so much nicer.
Others are saying that many fans were also not happy with the many changes to the narrative in Remake and lost interest in Rebirth

Im pretty sure FF VII Rebirth will do fine once its released for PC. Same for FF XVI. Im still waiting for it to release on PC, not going to go out and buy a PS5 just to play a few games, even if they are ones ive been looking forward to for so long.
yeah PS5 is still a bit low in the adoption rate even if its easier to get, many people shifted to PC. Also the price is pretty high when people are pretty broke right now. Great game, but its not one you NEED to get right this moment.
Most of their recent big budget titles had been major flops. And SE stocks been on the steady decline, so yeah, its not a good sign for the company. Their smaller projects (Octopath, Triangle Strategy, Star Ocean etc) had been selling well, but I don't think its enough to generate profit for a company such as SE.

As for 7 Rebirth, i havent heard anything about it in any advertisements, news, through friends, etc.. I think they must have missed the marketing a bit. Dont know what happened there.
Being an exclusive may hurt it but the game probably wouldnât have sold well with how itâs structured, how over hyped it was, people donât really be playing a lot of games, and the sells shows most games making money is old multiplayer gamesâŠ

FO4 is a 34GB install. It can be made into a decent game with 30 gigs more addition/replacement mods...
I think it is already a decent game. It made alot of mistakes when it came to changes from previous fallout games, but I'd still consider it in the top 5 games in the year it came out. You can easily make it a great game with mods though
No amount of mods will fix the ass story, the voiced protagonist, the horrendous dialogue wheel, how bad most of the quests are, the over-simplified to shit rpg elements, the bad AI, the lack of weapon variety, and the horrible writing. Not to mention the lore retcons and how it's not even consistent with itself in terms of rules. Fallout 4 is a colossal disaster and it's no surprise that it got fucked by the Witcher 3 back in 2015.
So it's hilarious that people suggest to go for Fallout 4 when it's the game that is the least Fallout in the series, it's more like Skyrim or Far Cry 3 in a post-apocalyptic setting.

It's complete idiocy on Sony's part for releasing non exclusive games on PS only for like a year. No one is buying a PS5 just for a game. All they are doing is losing money on game sales since by the time they release on PC all the hype is gone and the game is lost to the crowd of newer games. These companies are living in the past while using modern pricing. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

Its almost as if everyone preordered the Final Fantasy VII Remake, because they were led to believe it was going to be an actual remake of the original game in 3D with new visuals and gameplay. The jig was up once the game was out and it turned out that this was not in fact what Squareenix was delivering.
Indeed. While I didn't pre-order FF7Remake, I did buy it thinking that a remake of FF7 would be a perfect starting point for a beginner like me, only to instead get a weird timeline/multiverse-sequel/reimagining that assumed I already knew the plot of FF7.
Embracer Group is splitting into 3 entities for the same reason old ships are split into water-tight bulkheads. If only one compartment floods, the ship stays buoyant.
I'm jumping back into Fallout 4 April 25th for the update and Survival mode.

C'mon Joe, please do a review of FF7 Rebirth. It's very good and really needs the attention.
I mean itâs super long and by definition itâs not an actual game. It has no beginning or ending, only hardcore Final Fantasy and JRPG fans actually enjoy the game.
Look how many popular streamers dropped the game after a few days. I love Square, but they were too ambitious with the game. Fans wanted a remaster with additional content, but instead they got a game that will be split in 3 over 10 years that is filled with so much filler.
I canât blame Joe, if he doesnât have the time to review FF7 rebirth.

FF7 Rebirth might also be suffering from the PC release being only 3 months away from initial PS5 exclusive release. Ppl might just be waiting. Either way, w/e the reason may be, exclusive releases are just not the way to do things anymore. You need to cast as wide a net as possible at the start.

FF7 Rebirth sold perfectly fine--there were 110 million PS4s sold when FF7 Remake released on PS4. PS5 sales were less than half of that when Rebirth came out. This just the typical Square Enix bitching about how they're not making all the moneys.

Iâm still really huge fan of Final Fantasy & after Final Fantasy VII Remake I was really looking forward to both Final Fantasy XVI & Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Those are probably two of the games that had me most excited for what is now current hardware in the first place. the issue for me is that I still donât have a PS5. During the PS4 era I felt like money was a little bit easier to come by for more luxuries such as gaming. I had two PS4âs during that time, but now itâs hard to justify a $500 purchase plus the additional $140 for two games. I think this is the year that I will make that purchase but even then with the PS5 Pro specs leaking it would be careless of me not to wait until that comes out to future proof my purchase. I also think the naming of the game was a bit poor, but I do think there was a pretty decently sized marketing push for that game, in my town alone with the population of about 500,000 I drive past three Final Fantasy VII themed billboards daily. I think this is the situation where the fans will probably get a hold of it more once it comes to, once it goes on cell, or even like me when they finally get into PlayStationâs current gen ecosystem. I was living at home when the PS4 came out, it was easy to work a job and afford every game & console almost immediately when it came out. now, I am nearly in my 30s with a lot more responsibilities and things that take precedent over gaming & with the cost of living being so high, it makes more sense to wait to jump into this current generation until the price of things go down or the value of what you get for that price goes up. I am so excited to play the newest installment to Final Fantasy, but I will have to wait until it makes financial sense.
FF7 made a huge mistake chopping up the story and pricing so high. I don't want to pay top dollar and play a game over 7 years waiting for all parts to be released.
No interest in starting that stuff until it's all out and playable for a fair price.
Look, they are full games. The first one took me 45 hours and the second 115 hours. With pretty much all side content done.

Midgar did not need to be 50 hours long, Junon and surrounding areas did not need to be 120 hours long. The story, cutscenes and fight gameplay are awesome, everything is just boring and so is the world.
Rebirth has more story and content than 90% of AAA games

Ff7 rebirth wasnât even in the top 25 games sold recently. You know thatâs a flop. PlayStation players was playing cod, Fortnite, helldivers and sports games. They only like multiplayer games with micro transactions
That is very true I'm on PlayStation but prefer single player story driven games.But when i see top 10 games played in you're country I'm like damn it man why???

For the final fantasy 7 rebirth thing, am I correct that they released a game called final fantasy 7 remake a few years ago ? I can't be the only one missing that they are two seperate things
