Such a good man Jay is. So patient and kind. Abby you’re an inspiration to young and old. So very proud of you! Can’t wait to see you in the house living your life and making wonderful memories. Hugs from Iowa and Tennessee ❤
I wouldn’t close the wall until you do a pressure test.
WOW, Abby !! I see you have made 188 videos on the remodel of your house !! Didn't realize there were so many !! I've thoroughly enjoyed each and every one !! May the Lord continue to bless you accordingly !
Good going! It's all coming together year by year month by month week by week day by day! 👏
Jay reminds me of my grandfather! Every summer he would stay with us a week of his vacation and we would work on a project. I remember plumbing, electrical, block laying and closing in a porch. More come to mind as i type this. Jay, you have fone a wonderful job and Abby will remember this the rest of her life! 😊
Abby, you have received the best education from Jay. You two work so well together. The house is coming together so beautifully. I've enjoyed watching each and every change you both have made!! Keep up the great work!!
Agreed! When you finish your house, I hope you will start on your addition. I watched your interview and Jay said he’s ready to do another one so I believe he’ll be ready to start another project with you!
My, you have a great teacher, don't you??? I just love watching your house coming together. So fun to watch every week.
I have been watching from the beginning and I’m amazed at what you and Jay have accomplished.
YOU SHOULD DO A PRESSURE TEST ON THE WATER LINES BEFORE YOU FINISH THE DRY WALL
Being flexible about adjusting your plans as you go seems to have paid off. In particular, putting a bathroom upstairs. Great progress.
Just wondering, I don't remember any comments on pressure testing the water lines before the Sheetrock goes up. I hope you are.
At 19:50 you answered my question. Putting the Sheetrock up before pressure testing pex fittings is not good workmanship.
During the winters my brother would put his dryer hose in a special bucket that has water in it. The heat helped heat part of the basement and the water in the bucket would catch the lint and add humidity to the whole house. Weird, I know...
Also my son is a plumber and suggested to wait for drywall in case you have leaks. Im sure you're already done by the time you posted this so the suggestion is nil lol😅
It would be good if Jay could give a “play by play” of what he was doing. He is a man of few words.
Such a great team you and Mr. Jay. He's a wonderful teacher when you have questions. 💝🙏💝 What a wonderful home you are making! Cheering you on.
Great progress on the laundry room, Abby!!! You looked tired today--YOU’VE GOT THIS, GIRL!!! 🥰❤️🏡❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
There are certain things in life that are more important than others. TP holders are toward the top of the list. 😂
You’ve come a long way baby!
I absolutely agree! 👍💞
Loooking good👍 Don’t hesitate to cut out some drywall and ad reinforcing for where you want the toilet paper holder. Right now I think you will look in the bathroom right at the toilet paper holder?? Does that go with your design vision? Jay seems to be getting younger every video. He has saved you so much researching and learning time with his experience and knowledge, as well as physical labour😂 I wish I had a “Jay” for all the DIY Reno’s I have done. You both have benefitted from this project.
Looking great. Once you get to painting you will be in the home run.
Abby, step aside because this compliment is for Jay. Please tell your wife to forgive me but I have a crush on you! 😂 I just turned 70 and you inspire me to stay active! My father always said that idle hands are the work of the devil and lord your hands are never idle! Thank You 🙏❤️. I love Google 😂 and I LOVE the upstairs bathroom! 👍
Karen, you naughty girl!😅. I think there are others that share your admiration of Jay. I think women would be lining up to take a number if he was eligible but he made a point of informing everyone that he is indeed married during Abby’s question and answer session. It is always nice to be complimented though. I know from reading your comments that you are a feisty one…same here.❤
@@dianewilliams9729 😂 I have a sister named Diane and she would have called me out on this too! 💞🙏
That's why Jay said he's married, he wants cat ladies to leave him alone.
@@karengossett1475 I truly suspect you were teasing as I am doing with you and not a true cat lady!😇
@@dianewilliams9729 I am teasing and thank you for seeing the humor in this. 🙏☺️
We have one vent on the black water pipes, and it goes up to above the roof so you don't get smells in your house. If all waste water goes to the same place only one is needed.
It's getting there, every little bit helps toward the process. I, personally would have insulated the walls between the laundry and the bathroom. Would assist with sound and since you're in a cold climate, seems it would keep the interior more cozy and bath water warmer for longer, just my opinion.
REQUEST PLEASE - Since you're getting into purchasing facets, shower pans, etc., all the fun, pretty stuff. It would be nice if you linked the products, where to purchase & cost. Some viewers may be in need of similar items for renovations in their homes, always good to share information. I will be renovating my bathroom later this summer; taking out the tub and installing a walk-in-shower. TY
It would be nice to see a bathroom get finished, at least a working toilet and maybe a sink. That's a lot of time working on this house without that convenience, time to reward yourself and Jay!
Looking great. You’ve put the planning time in on your project and now you and Jay are bringing it to fruition! A beautiful thing. ❤❤❤
I like it..."This is real life." Abby, you're the best!!
.............G;day Abby,
progress continues apace.
Cheers,
Malcolm.
Great video guys.
Abbey you and Jay nailed it again.😊
Making great progress so happy for you 😊
Love the window in the shower!!!!!
It is so exciting to see how far you have come in your remodel. Progress
ABBY,
The house is coming along very nicely Hello, Jay
Abby you and Jay are truly a fantastic team! I loved the video! All the light pouring into the laundry room is awesome! That view from the shower is beautiful! I am always looking forward to your next video.
So happy for you. Everything is coming together nicely.
A great idea with the shelving in the laundry room!!
I’m so excited for you. So glad you went with the upstairs bathroom. It’s going to look amazing and showering with that view, just awesome!
You and Jay are doing an amazing job 🎉 You should put a message 🗞️along with a few keepsake items into a bottle or box in one of the walls before you close everything up …a time capsule for a future homeowner to discover.
Enjoyed it. Happy to see your ok form the earthquakes.
Coming along, great job Abby and Jay. God bless you both.
I remember when you first started tearing down walls and the upstairs ceiling was a disaster and I couldn’t visualize how it would turn out. I am loving your charming home so much. I can’t wait to see more. One day it will be finished and furnished and you’re gonna do an amazing job of that too. So proud of you. And Jay is the best teacher. Maybe in the end you’ll throw a housewarming party where you and Jay can enjoy the fruits of your labor, toasting in celebration with your family and friends. ❤
That is a great design you and Jay came up with for that wall between the laundry room and bathroom. It is so much better than having super deep shelves that would be impossible to use. The upstairs bathroom is a great use of the space.
You and Jay have come a long way with some ends in sight. You plan is coming into view and looking good!
Wow , it look great on every video you show . I wish I had a good man like Jay around where I live . I need some work done on my little home ,too . I had a guy come over a week ago an said he chargeds $30.00 an hour . I just abot fell over . No way am I going to be able to afored that . But, great job Jay and Abby .
Congratulations Abby. It looks great. Thank you for sharing.
This home is going to be beautiful inside, I love all your design ideas Abby.
Definitely Feeling out! 😂 It's so beautiful ❤️😍 ❤️!
Wow , This team is bringing it together. So happy your dream house is taking shape so quickly Abby , Jay is such a great person to have working for you . One of a kind on patience and such a great person to just be around. His wife sure has a great companion , they are blessed . Wish this could be everyone's story . I have been blessed just to watch . 💛💚💙💜
My favorite show is on. Yay!
It is all coming together just fine!
Dear Abby 😁 I'm going to start addressing you this way from now on! I hope you know the pun meaning behind this...if you don't..ask Mom. Anyway..I have done house flips and designing in my day..but the skills you have are unique with much thought to maximize every inch in each space. I can't wait to see your excitement when your home is finished as I'm loving every episode of yours & Jays journey. btw..Nothing is ever boring!
You need to keep the house neater it makes for a safer work place
Abby you & Jay have done such a good job on everything. Looking forward to each step. I enjoy watching you learn the different skills. Yes, they may not be fun, but at least you are doing it.😊
Getting done a little at a time, love it
Looking really good Abby. You should be very proud of yourself. I wish you were able to test the water lines before closing the walls up lets hope they are fine?
You are making great design choices.
Your house is going to be soooo gorgeous!
Good thinking about the toilet paper holder. I am having that issue with the paper towel holder.😅. I used a stud finder but suspect my stud finder forgets how to find one (bet Karen could find a stud for me 😉). Upstairs bathroom looks great and that view is so pretty.
Making Plumbing Great Again.....guess the kitchen and BR will be next. lov from south alabama
Oh wow 🤩 loving that bathroom upstairs ❤😊the laundry room is going to be great😊this is so exciting ❤😊
I like the ledge in the bathroom!!
That’s great you got the shower done!
If you put the stain on with a cloth it gives a more even cover and no brush marks.
Abby I just got a ad on my phone for a sheetrock sander! Bauer 9" Variable Speed Pole Sander!!!! It looks like it would make sanding on the taping a lot easier! As always I enjoy watching the progress ❤!!!
Abbey my husband I have been Watching you an Jay from
The very beginning. But
You are planning
Those rooms as
Your vision comes. What you
Are doing is not
Easy. Continue
On your fabulous
Journey.😊
Enjoy all your videos, soooo much! Don't feel bad, even in the south it got very cold again for a couple of days. Take care and have fun on your fixer-upper!
Thanks for sharing more progress...
Everything is looking great 😘👍🏻💕🙏🏻🙏🏻
It's coming together!!!!😻
Looks great!❤️
Good Job Abby!
Hi Abby, I made it back, commenting B4 I watch, looking forward to catching up. Good to hear your voice and see your shining face again. Ps; skip was cracking me up so much, ah ha, , I need to go back and listen to your Dad again as he was explaining the lines and such, with Duke Earl and Baron. (I see your sanding looks great, I always enjoy that smoothened pre-primer look.) 😊
"Don't freak out but we are making some serious progress here.". Ah ha, I love that statement. 😊. I need to go back and watch again to see some details I missed. One thing I did...notice is you using your toe on the drywall square, also you can hang it on the stored sheet behind the pc your working on, so the square does not tumble over..I guess my bosses beat that in my head which is a good thing, they were picky which I appreciate, because I can cut corners now, but I can always go back to the way I was taught which is good.. Anyways..., you and Jay like mental telepathy, working so much together, you read each other so well, neat to see that. Nice work. Thank you.., your starting to get more experience than your viewers. Ah ha, Carry on. (I have some catching up to do, hello to All, clearing some serious ice this Spring over a foot thick! Snowbanks still 6 foot tall but they are starting to faid, then we get some more, but I enjoy the seasons including Winter in the land of the Midnight Sun.
Take Care. With Love.
"I See," Said the Blind Man.
Hello from Brunswick, Maine, US....Saturday, April 6th, 2024.
I'm jealous 😢
Keep up the good work
So nice to see you standing in a house with walls. For a moment I wasn't sure where you were. LOL
This was great! You are really moving along with some fun progress!! I love it!! This is going to be a beautiful house!!! 💕😊
Great job and I loved the video 😘👍🏻💕🙏🏻🙏🏻
Abby it looks great
Looks lovely
I shouldn't feel like this however when you said " oh crap", I felt better.
Good move using the schluder system. Used it in both my bathrooms when I built 12 yrs ago and has withstood two splashing grandkids with absolutely no leaks. And for the piece of mind the cost was not bad.
Love how the house is looking. You go girl 👍
Painting can’t be too far off 🤞
Happy day! New vid!
It is exciting seeing the progress. I was hoping you were going to do your bathroom next. Beautiful.
Vents should run out the roof or have a one way valve so gases don't excape!
There wasn't a valve on sink or washer vent. It will smell like sewer.
Great job
It's looking great.😊
Awesome..❤
I am so excited for you!
For some reason all at once I quit getting your yt !! I wondered what had happened to you when I realized after awhile I wasn't getting you!! Now,all at once you come up today!!
Miss Abby, in the future, are you planning to install a wood burning furnace outdoors and have a greenhouse, too.
Also not wiring the dryer before the Sheetrock goes up makes no sense either. The rough in is always done first.
All wiring and plumbing should be done before Sheetrock. Pressure testing the plumbing should be done so that if there is a leak, it's fixed before everything is closed in. I'm from NJ and have done multiple jobs like this. I have watched your's and your dad's from the beginning and try not to comment because I learned a lot the hard way. So sorry if I misspoke but trying to save you some work
🎉yay.
Love it❤
Abby, did you Feel the Earthquake?!?!
it's really getting their
Are you going to put one of those trays under your washer to catch water in case of a leak...did you feel that earthquake up there
Abby, the weather, everywhere in New York except the Rochester area. We seem to get a coating on the lawn and then it melts in the morning. Been very cold but we are extremely lucky here. No power Outages here either. Plenty east and north of Albany
We just had a snow storm the other day. 3" wet and heavy. And cold here in New England.
❤❤❤
