Audrina used to be my least favorite and now she's my favorite as I rewatch this as an adult. You can tell she's just so sweet and really doesn't overdramatize things, even when she's on a reality show.
Yeah I used to think she was just vacant and timid but I see her differently now. She just went at her own pace and never got herself involved in other people's crap (outside of what producers set her up for). I still think the JB thing (from what I've read) was fabricated for the show.
She's always been my favorite. When I first watched in high school I thought she looked like Tiffani Thiessen from Saved By The Bell but watching back now Audrina is wayy prettier.
Yep her and Whitney seem to be the most authentic when rewatching as an adult

I never realized how boring Heidi and Spencer's storyline was after Lauren stopped hanging out with her. Spencer barely leaves the house lmfao
same, I feel like I was somewhat entertained by it at the time, but this watch has made me realize how boring and stupid it is lol.

It was such a fake storyline that I don't think even at that time (before reality TV was really a thing) it wasn't hitting.
I applaud Audrina for having a backbone and standing up for herself. She wasn't desperate to have Lo as a friend. Lo didn't seem genuine when approaching Audrina anyway, because from the beginning, she didn't even want Audrina to move in with her and Lauren in the first place. She kept giving Audrina the side eye, didn't participate in her party, talked behind her back and was very territorial over Lauren. That's not a friendship worth pursuing! Lo seems to be the perfect definition of "nice nasty". Lol

I used to think lo was such a pill, but now I have more sympathy for her. She isn't the hard drinking drug snorting loud music kinda girl, and didn't feel comfortable around that scene. She was being true to herself in that instant. She could have been more gracious about her rowdy houseguests- but its not like she kicked them out. She just wasn't into it.

well, whitney was a pothead so she probably was one of the most open-minded of the bunch.
I've been rewatching Laguna Beach as well and Lo has always been passive aggressive, rude, and stuck up. I think that if I knew her in real life I wouldn't feel comfortable around her. I feel really bad for Audrina, but am proud of her for sticking up for herself. I think for a personality like hers that wasn't the easiest thing to do!

Audrinas friends seem so cool and fun! I can’t believe some people were snobby about them. I don’t care if my friend invited an entire circus worth of clowns to her party, I would have THE BEST TIME because it’s my friends party and I’d want her to have a good time and be happy.
Her friends are lit! I love how everyone expressed themselves either from their hairstyle and/or clothing and the piercings and tattoos. And just them being them.

When she is with Spencer, she either seems to be ignoring him and relaxed- or talking to him in a sarcastic angry tone of voice. Or crying.
She strikes me as a very angry and anxious person - not a happy one.
And how did everyone describe her before Spencer? Carefree, fun to be around, life of the party, bright light, free-spirited...

you can only defend yourself and your relationship for so long before it starts to get old.
Even the new Hills show she seems unhappy. I don't know. I think she really regrets a whole lot of things especially her plastic surgery. She still to this day just sits back and watches as Spencer is exceptionally rude to people. Not ever a peep from Heidi. It seems like a very disordered relationship. I'm not convinced they won't divorce at some point in the future but who knows. No one thought they would last this long. I can see them on a housewives of ... show.
@@kkittycatkat1990 I'm really surprised there haven't been any cheating scandals yet. He seems like the kinda guy who likes attention and seeks it out. Heidi does do a lot to stay attractive and cater to his whims, so maybe she is enough for him- for now. But what will happen when she doesn't look like a Barbie doll anymore?
Lo: I’ve been in the kitchen all day slaving over the hot stove for this birthday party for audrina.

Yes! I remember being so annoyed at Spencer because of this. And the fact that he was so mad that she stayed with them for the weekend. Who doesn’t let their significant other’s sibling stay with them while they are visiting?! But I mean Spencer is just terrible in general, so I shouldn’t have been too surprised 🤦♀️

That was an epic slap down from Audrina. Lo has never, never ever been decent to Audrina. She's always been so rude and dismissive. She got Lo good and it actually looked like Lo was going to cry at first. She was definitely shocked. Yeah Lo, not everyone is going to kiss your butt and want to be friends while being treated like garbage. Love that moment! Low key annoyed with Lauren for seeing how Lo treated Audrina and letting it happen.
Spoil your friend on her birthday not make it about you. Even if her friends are different than you. I would've been having fun with them.

She was fine with audina up until she started hanging out with justin again. Doug stuff- I found him so unappealing and DRY when Lauren dated him. Then I found a new Doug appreciation when he gave Brody shit for making Stefanie cry in Vegas. Heidi has said that the the riff with her family was very real. Spencer was so rude to them imo. It may have been hyped up by producers but I don’t feel like they were just hitting story beats I think that they didn’t like that he isolated her from all her friends and wasnt the most welcoming to them. His attitude was so terrible and he definitely likes to play it up for the cameras. MTV even takes them off most of the episodes towards the end of the show because they were both taking it too far. IE: spencers physical fights, mental, breakdown etc. As far as Lo and Audrina I always admired how calm and collected Audrina was about lo’s bitchiness.
Lo was straight up intimidated by Audrina, she felt less pretty and more privileged so tried to act superior

I’ve always respected Audrina for standing up for herself to Lo because Lo comes off as cold & a little mean girlish towards her & I’ve never thought it was okay. Granted some of it could be the producers doing but the awkwardness between them & how they look uncomfortable around each other at times seems too genuine to be fake.
I’ve said this numerous times…..Lo has this nice nasty disposition about her that I can’t really rock with I would have my guard up around her all the time which is not good bc you wanna be yourself but you can’t bc anything with her can pop up at any given time

Agreed, the uncomfortableness seems too genuine to be fake. Watching this now as I'm older, I didn't realize lo was such a mean girl. Just so many unnecessary backhanded comments towards audrina. Lo is single handedly creating a toxic environment.

Of course, a lot of the show is scripted, but sprinkled in among all of the produced drama, you can definitely see some real moments with real emotions, and I think this was definitely one of them. I actually think that the breakdown of Lauren's and Audrina's friendship was one of the few real plot lines of the show. I think Lo wanted to be Lauren's main #1 friend on the show, and was trying to push Audrina out of the picture, which is sad because they could have all been friends. Yeah, Lauren and Lo clearly have a friendship history, and probably had more in common with each other than with Audrina, but there was absolutely no reason for Lo to be such a b to Audrina. I also think that Lauren genuinely wanted to repair her friendship with Audrina, and the infamous black mascara tear moment, I think that emotion was real too.
I just saw the interview Lo did addressing that she didn’t want to do the reboot because of the way she was portrayed in the original and she is so unaware of how terrible she is lol
thats sad cause the reboot would give her a chance to mend bridges & deal with it in a mature way with benefit of hindsight. Seems she still doesnt wanna make much effort. These girls are very young on the show so the jealousy & rivalry is understandable. Nothing they couldnt all look back on & find forgiveness. And laugh about. Shame Lo didnt grasp the opportunity. Then again Lauren isnt on it so Im not sure Lo was even asked to be in the reboot.
Ya Lo is consistently rude to every girl but Lauren if you pay close attention - even back to laguna beach.

Also I saw some recent interview with Heidi where she mentioned being portrayed poorly in the original Hills show and Lauren asked her if she was worried about that and she said "I'm on TV!!!! They can portray me however they want!!" And she pretty much confirmed everything we all think about her in that very moment.

Yeah I wonder where Kimberly fit into the picture (aspiring actress?). Because a lot of faces on this show fall into that spectrum, and either really worked the job or were fakes to fabricate a storyline. Even that first assistant at Bolthouse in S1 (Langdon?) went on to do reality TV.
