Disgusting, and he just gets worse and worse with her family. He would be DUMPED if he ever spoke to my family that way. Typical emotional abuser, isolating Heidi from everyone

Forced upon them by production but pop off.
The pain in Heidi’s mom is so hard to see, she looks absolutely heartbroken.
As a mom, that scene with Heidi and her mom is heartbreaking. She sees her daughter going down a bad path and she’s completely powerless.
More like she is being dragged down a bad path and is too scared to turn back and Spencer is blocking all other exists and his way is the only way out so shes letting him drag her further because he made her think thats the only option.

Strange, I've read that scene a bit different. Her mother is so overbearing and it's the first time Heidi ever pushed back and did what she thought was right without asking for approval and that's hard for her mom

I admire the way Darlene handled herself, such poise, but strength, while an absolute ass-hat disrespects her in front of so many. Remember in season 1 how Heidi responded to Jordan talking to her in a disrespecting tone?? The way Spencer talked to women in general on this show was appalling.

So according to Stephanie on the podcast she used to be on. She asked Lauren if it was okay to go on a date with doug, because MTV wouldn’t pay her if she wasn’t in the episode and Lauren said it was fine. And Doug only wanted to be on camera too. It was said that producers were forcing the relationship of Doug as well. Also, paris Hilton broke up with doug because she felt like Doug was being with her to be famous. Lauren Conrad also wrote this storyline in her LA candy series as well, if you want more proof.

The way Spencer was smiling creepily at Darlene was because he knew then that Heidi would never leave him, no matter what he did or said to her or anyone else. He knew he had her after Las Vegas. That was her 1 chance to escape him but he charmed her back. Her life could have been so different.
It’s the classic Heidi switcharoo. She said similar things to Lauren, “you think I don’t miss you as a friend?!” “You don’t think it’s hard for me to not tell you.” She’s manipulating the conversation, taking zero responsibility.
She’s copying Spencer’s methods but she can’t see it’s really obvious to everyone else 🙈

Let this be a cautionary tale, ladies: Never let a man come between you and your mama! If a man ever tries to isolate you from those who really care about you, run fast and run far. There’s never a legitimate reason to cut ties with good people, especially family, who aren’t causing you any harm. Heidi’s mother only showed concern, as did her sister. If your family is showing concern, try to be patient and listen. They might see things you can’t or don’t see (yet) and want to protect you. Any man who steps between you and your friends or family just wants you to prioritize, centralize, and worship him and him alone. It’s not worth it. Please. This happens every day to so many women, and families are torn up because of it. I’ve met men like Spencer before and they’re scary. They’re abusive, plain and simple.

I find Brody too aggressive with women, the way he confronted Stephanie was uncalled for, just chill dude. And he's still like that now. In New Beginnings he's rude to Heidie and Audrina when they hit him up for controlling his "16 year old" girlfriend's drinking, and then "they" end up apologizing to him? Yeah, that's the definition of gaslighting imo. Brody has issues, he had them then, and he still has them now.

If the point for the audience was to watch a video and feel nothing or have absolutely no response to it, would there be a point? The comments are real people watching this who just like Whit & Tim have opinions and of course are going to feel a way when they see what looks like 2 people sometimes defending or ignoring the actions of someone like Spencer who was emotionally abusive to Heidi throughout their relationship. If the point of their reactions is to ‘react’ but they have usually little to nothing to say/ react to that kind of behaviour, it can look like condoning. Just like Whit&Tim, they have opinions, and the comment section is open for a reason right?
Honestly Whitney is the one that's winning. She gets her bag from The Hills, stays out of the drams and just lives her life.

Steph already spoke about “dating” Doug on her podcast a few years ago basically producers told her to go on a date with Doug or she wouldn’t be on the episode (and wouldn’t get paid) and Lauren was aware of it. It was all for the show. Stephanie was the only cast member Lauren stayed in contact with after the hills (they lost touch after 2016) their friendship was real ppl

I don't see how Heidi can watch her mom cry and not cry, she just says "you're being silly" to her mom. It sounds just like something Spencer would say, like when Steph was crying and he said your making yourself cry. She's changed so much, from the girl who was always there for LC in the first season, to seeming heartless like Spencer. It's sad.

As a FIDM grad: the reason they all have the FIDM tote bag is because every student gets one. We have a lot of awkward supplies & books so they're super helpful for the long classes & labs.

Absolutely. MIC is the only reality show I’ve watched all the way through. At first I just loved listening to their accents but then I got hooked. Many MIC characters are quite witty too and I think these guys would love it.

I used to own the hills dvds and there were special commentary bits and deleted scenes. In one scene Lauren told Lo that Doug also had a massive photo of his mum in his room and they were laughing about it!

Steph and Doug did date in real life. Everyone in the Perez Hilton days remembers the blowout because it happened only a week after Lauren and Doug broke up after dating for months. @@nymphacissa I agree and Lauren had known Doug for so long too so it's not so much about LC still liking Doug during this episode but I wouldn't be happy if a friend of mine went behind my back and went on a date with a guy I had known and hooked up with for years, even if we were never official like come on that's not cool haha it's weird. And 100000% Doug was NOT interested in Steph, he definitely just did it to be on the show and maybe make Lauren jealous. He was clearly upset when LC ended things with him. 14:40 Whitney is completely right. Gaslighting is when the perpetrator redefines the conflict and shifts the blame to the victim, furthering the victim's trauma. So a kidnapper might say to the victim "this is the gratitude I get for housing and feeding you." Spencer gaslights a lot - "Consider the sex tape a test of your relationship w/ LC and she failed." Or "I'm not the one who's breaking up your family. It's you, you're the one denying Heidi what she wants." It's a type of deflection.

Whitney, I had a boyfriend 3 years older than me when I was 15 and he was a bit like spencer but was cheating ontop of being a jerk and I believed he wasn't but my mother didn't and she did go over the kitchen table at him when he said he loved me. My father had to grab her. And I was just there in shock.

I mean, IMO if we think you are being biased in a negative way towards Lauren as loyal viewers we should be able to express it without getting a snarky reaction or being made fun of for writing an "essay". It doesn't mean we don't enjoy the videos, it just means many of us are noticing the same thing happening multiple times when it comes to her. I've watched and enjoyed these reactions from day one, but the Lauren thing has always been an issue for me. I'm sure the stans will not like me saying this, but do mimic Whitney's words "I don't care" lol As for this episode, it actually spoke way more about Heidi's character that she allowed Spencer to treat her family so terribly than it did that he had the nerve to do it to begin with.
It’s unfair that people will say ‘it’s just their opinion’ and ‘it’s okay for them to have a different opinion’, but when viewers who for the most part do enjoy W&T’s commentary have an opinion that doesn’t agree with W&T you are automatically labelled as haters or negative. If you ‘don’t care’ about the comments of your viewers unless they praise you, just say that? Or people will say ‘don’t watch them then’, I don’t want to stop watching because I do enjoy them guys 95% of the time, are we not allowed to express if we think something is unfair? Have you ever had a friend who you think did something uncool to you or someone else? Do you just drop them or are you allowed to say hey I didn’t think this was nice of you? What’s going on here?

Heidi stated a few years ago In an interview that she was at one point ‘losing herself in the role she was playing in The Hills’ - i think this episodes marks the time she is taking it too far and loosing touch with her ‘old’ life and family
Yeah that makes sense, Someone said Spencer was also becoming the bad guy, and people harassed him and he became his character that he had a breakdown, and that was season 6.

It looks like hyperpigmentation from the sun, not hair. Harder to get rid of
I know someone whose upper lip sometimes looks similar in pictures...never in person though. I always thought that it was because she gets it waxed and it's how the makeup settles in while in between waxing and somehow it seems to be picked up in photos for whatever reason. I luckily have never had any issues with hair growth there, but I have heard that if there is unwanted or excessive hair there (for women), it is better to bleach it than to wax it.
