Absolute perfection. I love it inside and out. Subaru did such a great job with the interior, the dash and the central console look serious, tough, the steering wheel looks fantastic, the car has such an old-school vibe, it's awesome. Beautiful color and design.

Fun fact: BRZ and GR86 aren't all the same inside. BRZ has aluminum suspension knuckles, where 86 has a thicker, stiffer anti roll bars.
the brz no longer has aluminum knuckles in the TS form with brembos, back to steel.
Not as thick or as stiff as me. ❤

I drive an sti with a stiff racing clutch, I broke my my left ankle in 2013 and I'm fine. It does get sore every now and then. I just bought a 2022 brz and the clutch is effortless

Good review my dude. I've liked the BRZ since it's first introduction in the Subaru line up and this 2024 BRZ TS is gorgeous. The BRZ has less HP/TRQ in comparison to the '24 WRX but the BRZ weighs in at 2846lbs and the '24 WRX weighs in at 3430lbs. So that weight difference of almost 600lbs should make up for the difference in HP/TRQ. I might have to copp one of these Subaru BRZ TS models to add to my collection.
I feel that they could made it a little bit more tasty with BBS Exclusive wheels for the TS, at least. But good color 👌 I hope the next gen they don’t ruined with electric motors.

The Toyota GR86 version of this is the "Trueno Edition." Looking forward to a comparison between the tS and that, since Subaru dropped that lighter weight aluminum suspension component, and Trueno has yet a different suspension upgrade than the tS. Both share the same Brembo brakes if I'm not mistaken. All that said, for me it comes down to the Trueno Edition paint option better with that black stripes on white package. Very striking, makes it look almost like a Cayman and it works particularly well with Toyota's more aggressive front end.

Don’t forget the trueno has a more custom interior. Those door panel inserts and the seats are totally different whereas the ts just has a blue accent rather than the normal red/grey. Those seats in the 86 are what really sold it for me

The gold brembos are nice . I was lucky to pick up a 2022 BrZ premium for $29,000 brand new last year. It was nice but I switched to a Supra GR 3.0 and never looked back

All the TS stuff is nice ok, but where is my more power, drop a turbo on that thing and then we talk. Great video Joe you're the best in this business.

If you people want fast get a used Mustang GT or if you like something new an Ecoboost for similar price for BRZ/GR86. Stop trying to turn this car into something else. Its fine the way it is.
Not everyone is obssessed with speed or wants to race. You can tell because these things are still flying off the shelves with or without markups, MT or AT it doesnt matter people are buying these. I never see one last more than a week in the dealership.
If this car goes any faster somehow the price will go up then it has to compete with more cars in that class and price range. So far the only thing competing with the twins and what it should only be compared to is the Miata. Maybe a used Porsche at that price range.
Mr. Rati, has Subaru made any changes that addresses the oil starvation issues from prior year models? New oil pan? Less RTV? Thank you!

This brz in blue is beautiful. I want one as a summer car.
I'm sure the tS trim is great but the only way to get one is to order brand new which takes forever and has a bunch of extra fees associated. You'll probably end up paying nearly $40k for a tS after fees. Better off buying a used limited trim BRZ with low miles for $29k and just upgrade the brakes and suspension on your own. Definitely go BRZ over the GR86 entirely because Toyota dealerships are upcharging anywhere from $4k to $6k over the BRZ. Which is enough to cover your brakes and suspension upgrade on a Limited BRZ. I would definitely get at least a Limited trim because the $2.5K difference is definitely worth the upgrades from the Premium trim.

I don't see myself trading in my '22 BRZ Limited for a tS edition. While I like the Brembo's, they went back to the old iron knuckles to fit them. I'd rather get a kit that fits my aluminum knuckles.
I will admit I'm jealous of the blue stitching, but I have a red one, so the red stitching matches well. Give me a power bump or forced induction and I'll be willing to call this a good tS edition.

If you track it, go with a 30 weight oil to mitigate the oil pressure drops on long rights. I really with Subaru/Toyota made a warranty covered baffle or sump to fix that engine flaw.
This brz has the 350 z body. The older brz was the same as Toyota scion boxer engine. Looks nice af.

I just bought a brand new 2023 in red. It looks the exact same as mine so maybe I'm not upset I didn't wait for a 2024 lol either way I couldn't wait to have a new car lol my g35 was done for and had no air conditioning lol

Definitely. Though I put an after market exhaust, (Less weight) and put the K&N intake on it and it makes up some of the lack of power. Not all of it but better. some people are putting a small turbo in it and it pushes around 320hp. plenty to have real fun with!

Those rear seats are perfect side my 2 Yorkies. The safety harness system would work perfectly for them and plenty of leg room for them

I just bought my brz 1 year ago. And I got to say after a year of modding the only thing I wish I got was the brembos though not really because I’ve upgraded to AP Racing calipers so it really would have just saved me some money. One thing I do wonder is the stiffened the rear sway bar.

Thanks for the great review Joe! Can’t wait to see you get on throttle with the tS. I have one on order set for February delivery. I plan on doing a Borla ATAK catback, Takeda intake, and Ecutek tune among some factory STI and aftermarket aero upgrades. I don’t plan on making any more than an additional 15 to 20 hp with those additions, but as you know this car is not about absurd power. I am blown away that we still have access to a rear wheel drive, naturally aspirated, manual transmission at 2800 pounds! It will be an incredibly fun secondary vehicle to keep in my garage.
P.S… The Trueno gets the Sachs dampers. The tS gets the Hitachi setup. I can’t wait to feel how dialed in this STI tuned suspension is! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

It’s not just calipers it’s larger pads and rotors as well. Also the dampers are NOT SACHS, they are Hitachi. The Trueno 86 will have Sachs dampers, the brz Ts will have hitachi dampers

The only question is how much will it be (in Canada) and what interest rate and it better not have dealer markups. Any of that is too high, they can keep it no matter how good it is.
The more I looked into switching cars to something newer, the more I realized I have to wait for a price crash. Looks like it's already happening in the US; Canada is usually a bit behind the US trends.
I'm not going to give them money I don't feel belongs to them at all, the OEMs and sales people. I'll keep my 500 hp C7 A6 with Bilstein B16s (makes the car amazing). I've been fixing and improving that instead and it's so much cheaper. I'll just wait until prices crash back to normal. Clearly that's likely where it's heading.
The only thing I hate with Subaru is that they almost never put extra power in special editions, or even generations, they took away the STI, the hatch in NA, added awful CVTs to most models, they added all the plastic and the plastic diaper to the WRX, and all sorts of other things that feel anti car enthusiasts.
I used to have a 13 WRX STI I modded quite a bit. Then sold it when they showed the new WRX concept back then, and it looked amazing. Then it came out and looked like a mid Toyota. Only the new one looks a bit like that if you squint hard, at dusk, from far away.
I would love to see a BRZ spec with turbo and AWD. 😊
Then it becomes $45K and no one buys it.

@@ruturaj47 I guess since it's Subaru I thought having another trim spec with more power and AWD would appeal to certain people. I'm all for RWD and NA while keeping weight as light and understand those traits make the BRZ/GR86 great and help define it's character. 😊
