I ended up buying the Mach E because it was a 4 month wait here in Canada vs a 2-3 year wait for the EV6. I absolutely love my Mach E, but I agree with the comments about the ride. I joke that sometimes it feels like you’re riding an actual Mustang stallion. 🤣 That being said, the seats are VERY comfortable. After three months of ownership, I would say that my biggest complaint with the Mach E is that it is just too much fun to drive! 😁 On a smooth road, it is so quiet that driving at anything less than 90km/h feels like you’re barely moving at all.

Here in Norway both of them are selling very well and has taken a huge bite of the Tesla market. We went for the ev6. Love this car. The screen floates much better with the dashboard and it is a lot easier to find what you're looking for on the screen and concentrate at the same time, since the screen is on the same level all the way. Like the mercedes. And the 7 year guarantee is really good
Is there a better looking SUV on the market? Hardly, unless you are nerdily focused on streamlines and efficiency. In that case nothing can threaten a Model Y. My brain goes for that, my heart goes for these.
In the AWD extended range form, both the EV6 and Mustang Mach-E are pretty comparable. The Mustang Mach-E has a roomier interior, better infotainment system with full OTA capabilities, and more cargo room. The full glass roof on the Mach-E is amazing for backseat passengers but the EV6 has the ability to open its small sunroof. EV6 rides better, has better acceleration, and the charging speeds make a difference on trips longer than 5 hours.
In a perfect world I would want the Mach-E exterior with the EV6 interior. At least Kia made an attempt to integrate the displays. The massive tacked on afterthought screens is a trend that needs to disappear, along with everything being piano black and fake buttons for basic controls. On the tires, bigger isn't better. I'd prefer 18s on the streets here in VA USA. That would also help with the harshness
Went with the Mach-E for the Frunk, Plug & Charge, styling, Blue-Cruise, and navigation automatically adds charging stops on long trips. Wish it charged faster but from the long trips I've taken it charges fast enough. I don't feel like its taking too long.
@user-cz7fu6st7u still loving it. It's about to get better once we get access to the super charger network. Ford has been pretty good with over the air updates even though they don't come regularly (like on a monthly basis, for example).
Ioniq 5 gives you the backseat space and the bigger near 530l boot. Everyone who sits in the back seat of mine love the space. Love the look of the EV6 but that low boot wasn't going to cut it for carrying my greyhound.

Liked the Mustang but the handling was just a bit twitchy on the rear end on long high speed bends. Also agree with Tish on its power delivery, I nearly rear-ended the car in front in whisper mode and found myself stopping half a car back at lights just to avoid that. Bought the KIA AWD in the end for the 240kW charging plus the HUD. I also am not a CUV fan and prefer the lower ride of the EV6. It's a brilliant tourer, comfortable, quiet and calm and the big mirrors and ADAS lane changing make motorway night driving in rain so relaxed. It's viciously fast away from lights in sport mode, has great handling and more usable space than my SAAB 9-5 estate. I do wish it had the range of the LR Mustangs though, currently getting about 220 miles at 70-73 in the cold weather with rain and headwinds, although I am still learning to use a lesser right foot than is needed with ICE.
Kia is having a design language that is above others these days. Plus the technology package, IMO is second level under Tesla, considering pricing also

Me in my case im stuck between all top 4 Ev’s: Mach E California edition,EV6 and Ioniq 5 or Ioniq 6. The Mach e is edging the other 3 because of the frunk but the other 3 are beating the Mach e because of the fast charging speed.
I have an ‘05 Prius that my daughter will get later this year. I replaced it with a Mach-E GT. It’s a great car for our family and I figured after having the same car for almost 17 years, it was time.
The KIA EV6 is the nicer car inside and out. The Mustang is not bad but that screen in the middle is just horrible but at least they have a screen in front of the driver too unlike Tesla's but it just all looks so messy compared to the neat screen in the Kia.
Afaid I couldn't disagree more. The Kia looks like a Dixons store from the late 80's threw up inside it. And the mustang is alot more comfortable both in the front and back.
Great review. Son has a Mach E, we have the Kia. Yeah, some give and take with both, but the reason we bought the Kia was simple. Faster charging. Not even close. The 800v charging architecture allows us in and out of a DC charger much faster than the Mach E. Recently took a 600 mile trip and at the charging stations, we met Mach E charging as we started and we left the Mach E at the charger when we were done. Could not have convinced my better half to buy a slower charging car. Bought another one for myself for that reason.
Today I had a test drive of both. I really like the smothness in Ev6, but I think they have just gone two much far with using LCD display. I mean they have covered almost half of the front front cabin with LCD. It is not very user-friendly with the software. Mach E however a bit mor expensive in middle class models, it has a sharp driving and gives you the feeling of a SUV; the so called superiority feeling 😅. And yes, it is not as resposive as EV6. I should admit EV6 is really nice in exterior but it looks like a mutant KIA. But I think you get mustang like feeling from Mach e exterior. In conclusion I rather Mach e.

Day 1 i knew i was getting the Mach E got a manufacture buy back one due to camera issues which was fixed by the dealership. The best part is i got a 21 GT with 23k miles and it only cost me roughly 24,000

The claimed 0 - 60 times on Ford's website don't match yours (and are off by quite a bit), so I'm wondering if these are your tests? Or maybe the Euro-spec is different? Ford has: GT: 3.8 seconds GTPE: 3.5 seconds Std Range RWD: 5.8 seconds Std Range AWD: 5.2 seconds Extended Range RWD: 6.1 seconds Extended Range AWD: 4.8 seconds I'm just wondering where your numbers are coming from and if there really is a difference in spec. I'm fairly certain I've done 0-69 faster in my AWD extended range Mach-E on regular road tires (thought I haven't bought a Draggy yet) than the 5.8 you have quoted in the video. Not trying to be a jerk, just providing feedback and seeking clarification. :-) It's a good video!

Good review, would like to point out a minor mistake on the ev6 and something worth noting on the mach-e: 1. EV6 AWD has 605nm peak torque, not 450nm as said in the video. (GT version has 740nm). 2. the Mach-E has it's performances electronically limited after 62mph; i.e. it becomes a tractor after that. while it has a 0-60 speed of 3.7s, it's 0-124mph speed is 62.2s, in comparison, the EV6 gt-line (mid range awd) does 0-115mph(elec.limited) in a fraction over 20s. So if you want power, you would want to go with either an EV6 GT-line or EV6 GT rather than any of the mach-e models. On the 1/4 mile the EV6 GT-line is only a fraction slower than the Mach-e GT, even though it has 155bhp less, and 235nm less torque. but hopefully you want more out of a car than just power, in which case the choise might not be as easy :)
The Kia does not come with mobile charging cables..they are 700 or 800$ extra..Mustangs are free..Also the Kia does not have a rear Wiper..Anyone that has driven an SUV in rain or snow knows the wiper is a necessity...Other than those things the EV6 is nice..I still like my Mach E better..

There both great cars and they both have good and not so good points it’s all down to personal choice. I went with the Mach E AWD Extended range. LOVE IT ❤ However changed my wheels to 20” 245 45 20 far better grip and I’ll keep the 19”s for winter. Also the 0 - 60 is 4.8 not 5.8
I would rather see offerings like a Dacia Spring, Skoda Citigo EV, Renault Twingo ev, Microlino or Tata Tiago EV. Something along those dimensions and price of electric car. Not profit hogs. Kia/Hyundai have gone far too upmarket, the original Ioniq was the first proper Goldilocks ev.
The Kia GT only has a range of a little over 200 miles fully charged..The Mustang GT Performance has a Range of 260 miles fully charged..Mach E wins again
Great comprehensive review; EV6 wins for me! However, I think some of it’s ‘compromises’ could be ironed-out by simply just buying a 3 or 4 spec Niro, and saving maybe £7-10k? That’s what I think I would do.

increasing ground clearance on an urban, electric car is about as stupid as pouring mayonnaise on breakfast cereal. sleek, and lower vehicles are safer for the driver, the occupants, other drivers, and most importantly, pedestrians.
An electric Mustang SUV hatchback ? What was Ford thinking? Muscular? It looks like every other car on the market. Whoever slapped a mustang emblem on this should be fired. Do not buy any EV at this time. VW and Mercedes are developing solid-state batteries. They have stopped developing existing batteries for EV's. Solid-state batteries will multiply the range - by up to x10.
Do you want the quiet AWD soulless whirring heavyweight car, or the... erm... other one? Does it even make a difference? Compare either with a real Mustang, or a Kia Stinger GT, that's a proper choice, not this detached electric uniformity.
I ordered a Mach-E GT at the beginning of 2022 and got it at the end of July. Very happy with my purchase. I wanted the space and utility offered by the Mach-E. I like the looks of the Mach-E better, too. The EV6 looks kind of smooshed to my eye. Good review!
Unfortunately unaffordable for most folks I'd love to know who can fork out the prices they charge certainly not working class people who have all on paying the utility bills. Nice cars though if you're wealthy

Not at all. You have a tun of leg room up front still. My guy is 6’4 and has no issue. The whole car is more hallowed out. That makes it feel bigger in the inside than it is on the outside. The EV6 is very roomie. For reference, I have the 2024 EV6 GTL.
IF YOU WANT A CAR NAME TO MEAN SOMETHING don't go for the Mach e. Car makers have to learn you can't put every sports car name on an SUV and expect the public to be oky with it. When I see a Mach e I think "SELL OUT"

I’m with you! I put 18s with winter tires on my MME GT. They are lighter and offer better ride compliance.

I test drove both and bought an EV6 earlier this year. I love it but right now it no longer gets the $7500 credit in the USA so I guess I lucked out.
If I had to have one of those, I’d have the EV6.

Just over a month ago I drove my 2023 Mustang mach-E home. I received my new insurance premium $250. a month. Very clean record for 60 years.

A coworker has an AWD Mach-E and loves it. I'm still rolling the 2007 Prius base model under 5000mi/year. Not worth buying something new.

Do not buy any EV at this time. VW and Mercedes are developing solid-state batteries. They have stopped developing existing batteries for EV's. Solid-state batteries will multiply the range - by up to x10.
Do you want the quiet AWD soulless whirring heavyweight car, or the... erm... other one? Does it even make a difference? Compare either with a real Mustang, or a Kia Stinger GT, that's a proper choice, not this detached electric uniformity.

I ordered a Mach-E GT at the beginning of 2022 and got it at the end of July. Very happy with my purchase. I wanted the space and utility offered by the Mach-E. I like the looks of the Mach-E better, too. The EV6 looks kind of smooshed to my eye. Good review!
Unfortunately unaffordable for most folks I'd love to know who can fork out the prices they charge certainly not working class people who have all on paying the utility bills. Nice cars though if you're wealthy

@@bigdi77 At one time, our company had a fleet of Kia's. They didn't last very long. Now we have zero in the fleet. Never again. For gas cars, the Hondas CRV are doing well. For the Nissan Cubes, almost all had transmission problems. They are all on the lot waiting to be scrapped. 😠😠😠

Not at all. You have a tun of leg room up front still. My guy is 6’4 and has no issue. The whole car is more hallowed out. That makes it feel bigger in the inside than it is on the outside. The EV6 is very roomie. For reference, I have the 2024 EV6 GTL.
