Tesla. But what about the el6?
@tani123 tried to get one but not possible before October.
I have a standard range Mach-e 4wd but I never go that low of course. I am lucky to go 170 mi. Tried a long drive across Texas in hot hot hot day. I made it to the next charger. Yea.
@jaymontange8260 thank you for sharing. Happy with your car?
@@ItsOnlyElectric Thank you.
What a great effort made! Well done and thank you very much for arranging this test and let us know how all these cars perform in power capacity.
Great work. Thank you all 5 guys for the effort you put in this test.
Thank you for watching!
Great video. Huge thanks for taking time and effort do do this test. It was very interesting to watch
Thank you!
Nicely done! Great comparative chart of 5 cars.
Me personally The EV6 TOP all rounder
And looks mighty fine ❤
Excellent video man! Fun and informative. If you get the opportunity it would be nice to see a similar type of race in the winter, see how each car manages the cold, loss of battery capacity etc. :)
Thanks! More tests to come. A winter test is a good idea
Wonderful review….one of the best…thanks to all of your team to plan and work this out
Thank you! Takes quite an effort to coordinate and plan. But totally worth it. More will come.
most entertaining range test video i have seen, great work
🙏 glad you enjoyed it
Awesome video, loved the infographics. You should do a long road trip race that involves charging too.
That is a good concept for a later video. Glad you enjoyed it.
That would be crazzzyyy
Thanks a lot for the test! It complements the Norwegian NAF ElPrix tests and brings very good insights 👍As a P2 owner, I can confirm that consumption and range also match mine.
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for watching? Happy eöwith your P2?
I love this type of video, I find it very informative to get a good idea of the max range possible, although in normal use I would try not to get to the limit. I did it once in my Ioniq 38kWh, getting it down to less than 14 miles of range and 5% battery. It was a hairy, but I knew I was close to my destination.
Thanks for sharing.
No it's better not to push it to much. This is more for educational and informational purpose
Absolutely@@ItsOnlyElectric ! Thanks.
I think the skoda enyaq is the best looking car in the line up!
not a big win... they are all ugly. 😒
Good job guys, i like that you are very attentive to the small details, and infographics is great! Keep up the good work!👍
Thank you! Glad you notice the important stuff. 👍
Great real-world test. Best video I've seen on the topic.
Thank you 👍
Great video guys! Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
The updated 2024 Polestar has been shipping for a while now - you can’t buy the older version you tested here new any more.
The ‘24 comes a bigger battery and more efficiency which gives much more range.
Yes, that's correct. But at the day of recording not possible to get hold on the updated version, shipping of the upsödsted version started couple if days after.
Now wait till they try the new Model 3 (with the highland project upgrade). Even better range, sound system, and pretty much everything is upgraded.
The new model 3? Upgrades in range? Kool ! Now before i buy one, what's the range? Is this available in a full size luxury automobile for us guys who prefer a large full size luxury automobile? Will the range be atleast 500 miles which still is beneath the 570 miles of range i get with my Jaguar XJl? Or even better yet, the EV called Zeekr which is 640 miles of range and a large full size luxury automobile? Oh yeah the Zeekr is not available in the United States of America, just like highspeed bullet train technology which is also, (fully electric). If tesla is coming out with a full size luxury automobile with these fine qualities and improvements, then I'm all in! I'll get one tomorrow morning.
Thanks for the Review! It gives us an Idea for the Actual Range of the Actual Vehicles,I will go for Kia EV6 , watching from the Philippines.
Glad I could help.🙂
This was a great no nonsense test drive. No BS, no closed circuit testing, just how it is, period. EVs are getting interesting but charging is still a big headache. For me the range is way too low and really much too inadequate for my needs. The technology is slowly improving and only tomorrow will get us there. Thanks again, really enjoyed the video.
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
I will have to say that this is one of the more fair test I've seen people do on these type videos. Personally I would have liked to see the model y long range instead of the performance but that's just my opinion. Good video guys!
Thanks! It's hard to satisfy everyone with these kinds of tests. Trying to be as objective as possible. More tests like this will come.
Great video, very informative. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Very nice test! liked it. Gross size of the Model Y should be 79 afaik though. Those are the stats of the used LG 5L M50 battery. The 82 figure comes from the Panasonic 3L battery and is only used in the Model from 2021
Great Video !
Great test!! It´s really nice to see the quality this channel delivers!
It´s interesting that all cars are equally bad (except one that is even worse) at estimating the actual range. I though somehow that they where able to do that better today. You drove the cars in almost optimal conditions, on a flat straight road in an even speed a summer day? And the cars still miss alot compared to wltp!? Repeat the test with even more of “real” daily drive situations in wintertime, will you get half wltp? The results was a little disappointing I must say (from someone who had compared the wltp ranges between electrics).
Thank you for your kind words!
Yes, agree, quite far from stated WLTP. We where expecting 40-50km more range on almost all cars. Really heavy rain hit us after 200km and that killed our chances for longer range, but that's a real life scenario.
Yes, I agree, they should include some rain also when calculating WLTP! 😀@@ItsOnlyElectric
@ViktorVallin 25% of heavy rain as a part of the WLTP..😂
Was AC on for the whole trip? That kills the range a lot.
@DS-pk4eh yes, at 21°C. Not possible without in those Weather conditions
Thank you for the hard work
I hope you enjoyed it. 👍
This is one of the greatest Range tests I have ever seen.
I love the way, you showed all the stats of the Car when you were in them.
I also found it great that all the drives gave an impression of the car.
Great Video, Thank you.
Thanks for your positive feedback! Trying my best. Glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
Hi and thanks for your efforts, guys! very interesting and educational test drive! Kind regards to all the Team Members!
Glad you liked it and thanks for your support 🙏
Should have taken a model Y LR to make the comparison fair, looking at 0-60 times, the performance is overkill.
Yes, and thats a big plus to the Tesla. Performance/efficiency ratio is a big win for the Tesla. Hands down the most efficient perform car on the market. Polestar P2 is the quickest version, skoda and Ford also the quickest versions.
@@ItsOnlyElectrici think you put this reply in the wrong place. Great video!
@@EwanM11 you are totally right! Thanks for noticing.
@@ItsOnlyElectricso you would get quickest version of Fiat and Ferrari and compare them? Names are marketing, real performance is important, not what is name or what top model they have. So Model Y LR should be in test, or at last to be next to Performance version.
@@ItsOnlyElectric- incorrect, the quickest version of the Polestar 2 is the Performance, which you didn’t use in this video. [P2 LR DM]
Very nice test, thanks a lot for your effort, guys. After more than 2 years and 53k Kilometers I still love my Model 3 LR, but I'm looking for a car with more trunk space. And I really don't like the still missing Matrix LED lights. That's the reason, why I didn't order a Model Y yet. As an ex Volvo driver (S80, XC70) I'm waiting for the next Volvos, I guess I will sell the Tesla in some time. Sad, that they still don't offer the Matrix light, Radar, Parking sensors anymore. Otherwise I would save order a Model Y.
Thanks! The Y actually have matrix lights but don't use the features of the Matrix yet. But still good headlights.
But get your point, some convenient features are missing.
You need more space than a Y LR has? Goodness me... do you have 5 kids and 3 dogs? 😂 I have wife, one adult daughter and a big hunting dog and we do absolutely fine with even the Model 3 LR
after rereading your comment I see i totally got it wrong but to be fair, i keep the comment of mine in 😂🤣

I drive a KIA EV 6 RWD Long range and I can say it is an awesome electric car with not really anything to complain about! It's worth a test drive for sure for newbies to the electric car scene and for those who want to change to another brand! KIA did a wonderful job on its first electric vehicle!
Totally agree 👍
Kia and Hyundai seem to be the cars to beat now.
And while the Kia and Hyundai are still about 40% too expensive, i can see them dropping prices as tech evolved and battery prices drop significantly.
BYD if they do start selling in Europe will corner a big part of the market as long as they partner with someone who has the infrastructure in place for servicing and repairs, all depends on reliability and price too.
Mercedes and BMW still need to get serious about electric cars, they are slowly getting there, but the next 3 years will hopefully produce some impressive cars from them.
Ford Toyota Nissan VW are the ones to watch, they still have not gotten serious about electric cars but will be forced to compete very soon as in the next 3 years, I have big hopes from them.
Then there are the hundreds of new manufacturers. With electric cars so much easier to manufacture we could see the big 5 become less relevant for a while, but there are a lot of money manufacturing cars, and they will not want to lose their slice of the profits even if that slice is less than they have enjoyed for 100 years.
@andrewbrown6578 Kia/Hyundai still producing too low volume and needs to increase the capacity to be able to compete with tesla and Chinese brands like BYD. Really good cars!
Thx for the test , i love it and now odder test with 5 new cars
Yes, will come
Great Video. The real range is one of the most important information.
Yes, real range helps you understand the use cases of your car better. Glad you liked it. 👍
I’ve rented multiple Polestar 2’s and felt the car was small inside because of the massive console. My legs felt cramped.
Same experience as for me.
Same here. Shame on it. But I feel it's not only the massive console. The arm rest in the driver's door is too short for a driver over 1.90 m who who has to push the seat all the way back.
Right now, the only electric cars with true range in the US are a Teslas; as they are the only ones with a tight, reliable charging network. This will change in 2025, when the Tesla NACS standard becomes the standard. Then actual range will start to matter here.
Great video, thank you.
Comparison was cool to watch and helped me to make my choice. I ended up ordering an skoda envyaq RS 85x 4x4.
I've tested tesla this weekend and i went to see one of the new Skoda Enyaq and i swear for god, its impressive the quality that Skoda has over tesla.
Here where i live, Tesla MYP with all features costs me 69430 and LR long range goes for 65630 meanwhile the new enyaq comes for the price of 62549. So i think its pretty braindead why i did what i did 😂
Hope you help way more people with this videos. Keep going. Your doing an great work!
Nice that I could help you out. The updated Enyaq seems to bring great value, good choice!
MYLR is more powerful and quicker then most other cars in this test. And has better efficiency and comfort on 19" wheels then MYP.
Some of these guys cannot use EV's properly (specially Tesla one)!
@fielasta3211 all drivers drove all cars so not sure what you are referring to?
Great video. Short question. Is everyone driving on cruise control? set on 120? Maybe I missed that somewhere. I like that you took the MYP in the test. Its still a great all performer with that big HP difference to the others without loosing practicality. Even if people got a bit bored of seeing alot of model Y's, the MYP still looks stunning in white (with the black accents and spoiler). But thats personal.
Parts of the trip was with cruise control. I wrote some more specifics in the description.
Glad that you liked it. Agree regarding the Y also love it in white especially with ylthe Überturbines
The speed remark is a good one. You got some results that are, let's say, so-so OK, but what would be the result with real life highway speeds that people drive in the rest of Europe? Having cruise control on 140km/h where there is 130 max speed is quite common. Germany with much higher speeds, I guess, would bring aweful results. You can say, that most people do not drive that fast, but when comparing top models of each brand, you can expect the drivers to use the potential of these cars.
@gulfgt täyes, expect a lot worse results in speeds over 130km/h. 😂
@@gulfgt Highest legal highway speed in Sweden is 120kmh and that is only in very few parts of the country. The vast majority of highways in Sweden have a top speed of 110kmh. For obvious reasons it wouldn't be a good idea to film themselves doing higher than legal speeds for this test.
Thanks for sharing this nice test. I wish you beautiful Week
Thanks for watching! 🙂
Thank you !
Lotta factors involved. Depends on speed your driving, weather, tires, the mode your Dricing in, if you have ac turned on, electronic usage like charging your phone, and the type of car you have. Great test
Yes, a complex equation. Glad you liked it.
Great video and comparison. And liked that you controlled the variables as much as possible. My only comment: there’s no way any average drive would push the Tesla past 0% the way you did, so it kind of skewed the end of the test. Could the Skoda and Polestar have been pushed further? Most likely not, but Perhaps. In any case, the Polestar, Skoda, Tesla, and Kia had similar ranges for 98% of usage periods. Cool test. Thanks!
Glad you liked it. 👍
Variables not controlled as much as possible if the emergency battery packs were not switched between vehicles when driver changes took place. Looks like it was a handycap for the model Y.
One more thought - a Model Y Long Range would have probably fit this group better as it would probably still perform as well if not better than all except Mach-e GT in this group, while range is officially longer by just over 8% compare to Model Y Performance.
Comparing Y performance to Kia GT line is like comparing a bmw M3 to 330i
As a Polestar 2 LE owner, I'm happy that we weren't eliminated first 😅
I have driven Tesla & the Ford Mach E & I pick Polestar due to performance on track/autocross. Plus where I live you rarely see them, so people always ask what car it is & how nice it looks.
Awesome video btw !!! You got yourself a new subscriber 👏👏
Congrats to a nice car, good choice! 💪 thanks for subscribing 🙂
Good effort! Well done!
Thank you!
That WLTP rating is a joke. I think they are making a disservice to EVs by setting up those unrealistic expectations.
Yes, improvements needed.
The WLTP îs representative for a 90 km/h constant speed în ideal temperature conditions, no rain. If you make a range test in this conditions you will tick the number .
WLTP = Way Less Than Predicted
It is the same for ICE cars, my old ICE should be able to drive 21 km/ltr diesel, I managed to do that once, 80 km/h tailwind for an hour or so. Normally it would be 17 km/ltr.
The range would then be 1260 km but I normally didn't exceed 1000
Im a teslaguy but Kia is the second best you can get in my opinion. The kia software is much behind tesla
Agree in both aspects.
But Kia has another probelm too. They don´t make enough of them, almost that one could think that they don´t want to sell EV6 at all actually.
17000 sold in Europe first half of 2023 (2600 in Sweden) - that´s almost compliance level of sales I think. Hope Kia (and Hyundai) do better the secand half of 2023.
@fredrikbarthlen5222 yes, still very limited production capacity.
Exactly. I test drove it, it was Tesla level but software. When I asked about software, I was told to use Android Auto 😉.
Wait for polestar 4
Great video! Where did you put the batteries? They're quite heavy
Thanks 🙏. In the Tesla. 40kg in total. That's also the car I pushed the most so probably even Steven.
Awesome video!
Fun to see the gang hitting the road and try all these cool cars!
Hit me up next race! 🏆
Next time it's your turn to join. 🙂
As a Tesla model 3 owner, my choice would be between Model Y, EV6 or Enyaq... hard choice, would need to drive the 3 in the same day with the same mood to decide 😅
The delta Max helped you to go the last 200m
Bet it would have got that small distance if not carrying that weight for all that driving time👍🇳🇴
Kul o se vilka bra filmer du lägger upp!
Tack 🙂
You and your team deserve this ❤
Thank you! 🙂
Thank you for the comparison test and the display of the results. They show me that the current battery technology is still two, three generations away for proper long-distance driving. On the German Autobahn, that is, with higher average speeds. I wonder how many years it will last until electric cars are on par with ICE cars for that specific profile.
Please continue with your good work, and present us the technological advancements in electric cars regularly in the future. Your channel deserves more subscribers.
Thanks for your heartwarming words. Spread the word for me. 👍
Will take time to bring cars with the same range as a diesel engine. But we together need to see the other aspects where electric cars actually autoperform combustion cars like: instant torque, silence, no exhausts etc. 🙂
I have to partially disagree with you. I think that every car in this test has enough range to satisfy most drivers. Personally, I never need to drive 400km in one day without stopping. If I did need to go that distance, I would plan my route so that I could stop at a a fast charge station about halfway and fully recharge, use a washroom and have a meal.
@@michaelgoble8200 yes, agree. In theory everyone need 600km of range but very few needs it in real life.
I see you've got a 2.5mi/kwh efficiency for the MachE. You guys were riding that thing pretty heavy to get so low. On my MachE according to the trip counter for the past 20,000 miles I have an efficiency of 3.4mi/kwh (mine is not a GT).
"mine is not a GT" is the key here. I tested the GT for a week and had a hardxtime getting it under 20kwh/100km and thats even when trying to drive efficient.
@@ItsOnlyElectric Interesting. You say the GT efficiency is a lot worse than the non GT versions? I'm glad I didn't buy the GT then lol!!!
@EngelUniverse yes, very big difference.
Two things, the Mach E uses more energy plus this was all highway driving versus your vehicle in city/highway total stats
Tesla model Y LR with 19" wheels gives a smoother ride and longer range. I had model Y performance for a test drive (21" wheels), it was too rough for me.
Thank you for your effort and professionalism. I want to tell you my opinion: it doesn't matter that much if one car goes 413 Km and another goes 423 km . Other things matter: how you feel in the car, the quality of manufacturing and materials, how the car behaves in various situations, the reliability of the car and the battery, the price, etc. Maximum success!
I agree, my main objective is to do deep reviews. Purpose is to address exactly what you are saying.
Great and interesting video. I'm a EV6 owner myself (I just think it has a much more interesting exterior and interior design than the Tesla which was my alternative when looking for my first EV) but I'm also a big fan of the Tesla and the Ford.
Det vore intressant att göra range-test mellan (typ) 80-20% som är mer vad man använder i verkligheten.
Skulle också vara kul med en full review av EV6an då det inte finns så många (bra) svenska tester.
Fullt test av en EV6 GT kommer. Bilen bokad.

Thank you. Glad it comes in handy. It's hard to go wrong with a Tesla. 👍
Great test, many thanks for all the work. I have the MY, Kia would’ve been my next pick
Two good picks!
Thank you for watching
Interesting to se the small differences in the end. Could you pls clarify, during the drive there was values for average consumption reported by the drivers but another value in the summary. Why the difference? Is the summary with charging loss? And to be correct shouldnt all cars be driven either to it stopped or 0%, the MY had 0% at 416km but gained 7km more until it died. So maybe the difference had been even smaller if all were driven until they died. Thumbs up that everyone took their time to do this video.
During the trip we reported what the car reported. When everything was over we calculated the real consumption by taking the real traveled distance and the available net battery capacity instead of looking at the cars own stated consumption. Some cars over report distance and some cars under report, and therefore not a 100% comparable without doing the finsl calculation.
Great video. The Tesla Model Y Performance is the the car to beat, which is why it's the number 1 selling EV in the world.

Thank you for this. There is much Tesla hate regarding range.

What car was loaded with the emergency batterie packs? Those have additional weights too and would count towards the consumption.

Nice video. Definitely will subscribe. I’m in the market for an ev for commuting in my region. I was about to pull the trigger on a polestar2 but figure I wait, because I just purchased a new suv and own another project car. a smaller car with a bigger battery maybe? id3, or mg4 (with the big battery)?

Thank you! Every car has it's own goodies that's the fantastic thing, there's is models suitable for all of us. ,🙂
Hopefully ID7 will be possible to test soon.
Not really a fair comparison. The EV6 was a "GT-line". Not the actual GT model. The Model Y was the actual performance model. Model Y LR would've been more efficient, and a better match for the EV6 in this edition.
@@JeroennemanMaybe LR would win, but to be honest Tesla Y is now missing radar and parking sensor and the Tesla Vision is not working properly = therefore by my opinion it is not safe proper SUV car :-)
@Jeroenneman I know. But tried to get cars with similar range on paper for a more interesting outcome. The EV6 gt has a lot lower WLTP range and far from the other cars in the teat.
Testing the EV6 GT soon though.
Range is not that important as a number. Range is a resultant value of what is important.
Efficiency, aka kw/100km is what matters the most.
An efficient vehicle can use a smaller battery pack.
A smaller battery pack is lighter and faster and easier to recharge without needing some idiotic high voltage architecture infrastructure for high speed charging and also at home with the AC charging speeds it can be done faster.
Real range is what we test, as you say it's not the number on paper that's important.
thank you for displaying both metric and non metric units for efficiency !
No problem. 🙂
I love these test! wonderfull job.
So for daily range between 80 and 10% we only have to do range x70% to be safe and no hurt the battery
Exaktly! Glad you liked it.
Dahn recommends NMC811 (>70% Ni) 45-70% (4.06v) to stop degradation.

I’m more interested in the battery pack he brought along. That would help with range anxiety
There’s diesel powered cars that’ll do 70+ mpg your range anxiety will be cured forever. They’re the future!
Yes, but a expensive way of travelling. There's is enough chargers in most places for avoiding a full stop. Otherwise road assistance can take you to the closest charger. I have been driving EVs since 2017 and haven't been close to a stop.
@@ItsOnlyElectric how much money have you spent in the evs since 2017? Purchase price and all? I haven’t had a car payment in 10 years and don’t see me making a purchase in another five years. It just doesn’t make financial sense to me to spend 60k for no apparent reason other than it’s cool 😎?
@@TheMuddatrucker Unless you travel further than 400 km, they are worse in all aspect and more expensive. Travelling more than 400km is really not commun, but we expect people to have commun sense and see for themselves if it fits their life style. More options is always better

Excellent work guys! It’s clear that WLTP range is a better metric for comparing EVs than EPA range.
WTF 😅EPA is more better !
@noassruncis3963 yes EPA is thougher than WLTP.
EPA range is closer to real world, but it's less consistent than WLTP. So if you're car shopping, WLTP is more useful than EPA. Once you have the car, EPA is better, but many cars have Guess-o-Meters anyway.
thank you
interesting video. Battery size efficiency is underrated
Yea, results are as expected. Tesla and Kia are constantly the top picks. The rest are a bit irrelevant to most people. The base Model Y is much faster than the Skoda so I would actually pick that. I see no reason for anyone to ever buy the Skoda or the ID4. Overpriced and underperforming. Kia & Tesla all the way!
I own skoda enyaq coupe ecosuite and believe me its fantastic its more better looking than tesla or kia ❤️
But just because you "see no reason" to buy the Skoda or the ID4, doesn't necessarily mean others do not. Try not to assume your choices must be the benchmark. Others have different priorities, taste, and views...... I walked away from a new Tesla Model 3 purchase pre-pandemic, because I felt the example I looked at lacked practicality (no hatchback) and had shoddy build quality. The comments from Tesla owners on Tesla forums at that time, didn't inspire confidence either. I chose a Kia instead, and would not even consider a Tesla until they have at least another 10 to 15 years of *consistent* mass production quality......
The reason is that Škoda looks head and shoulders better than Kia or Tesla. The VW tech is not up to par though, that's true.
@@angelangel302 For looks, interior and exterior, I fully agree. The Enyaq is absolutely gorgeous!! Once the inconveniences are fixed, I think it will steal away a lot of sales from Tesla and Kia. If performance is also fixed, I would most likely go with the Enyaq too actually!
I wonder what would be the difference with Model Y long range, wish you guys tested that same drive on the Model Y long range to see what you get. Technically it’s still a performance car with such good numbers anyways.
Tesla is still king in my opinion, especially knowing the new update would make it even better.
Probably would add 30-40km
@@ItsOnlyElectric so still @80% of claimed range...
Yes, maybe closer to 85%
Wheels makes a difference too, not the most efficient ones on the Tesla in this test. Also the Kia EV6 is a lower car compared to the Model Y, advantage in aerodynamic
@@ItsOnlyElectric my experience is that the LR adds roughly 15 % more range than the MYP, but that is on the Gemini wheels with aerocaps on. If the MYLR has Induction wheels it is only like 8 % more
I bought my Tesla model Y LR, it’s an amazing car
Glad you enjoy it! 👍
Thanks for that great review! Why didn't you just push the Tesla to the Allego charger 3 metres away instead of charging it up from the ecoflow?
Very good question! Free supercharging and wanted to test the battery. The plan was not to kill the battery at that spot
I get nearly double the range in my Toyota ICE car, and fill up in about 4 minutes🙃
We all did, but things change. 99% of the time you never stop to charge, you charge at home over night, like a phone. But I get your point.
@@ItsOnlyElectricthank you. I swear people think we stop to charge as much as they stop to fill up. I literally plug my car in at night, charge while I sleep and have a “full tank” every morning. This all runs me about $30-50 per month on my electric bill.
Exactly my point ☝️ thanks
@@ItsOnlyElectricwhat was your point exactly?... ICE cars cost at least 5 times as much to run!! I am saving thousands every year!
Me too. Did you read my post wrong? We are on the same side here. 😉
But the Tesla got to carry those extra 2 big battery emergency packs?
Haha... yes! 40kg of extra load. But the mass is not a key driver on long trips, since there is very few start and stops.
@@ItsOnlyElectric first thank you for your effort. But, how about moving those extra weights to EV6? That would be 80 kg of difference in the test (Tesla -40, Kia +40).
And are you kidding about the weight not making much of a difference? I wonder what would Monroe say about this comment.
Without the extra batteries, Tesla would win in the range, for sure.
Problem with weight is to set it in movement. It's the rule of mass and energy. If you drive a route with constant start and stop that would effect the efficiency a lot more. But that's not the case. The battery pack of 40kg has a negligible effect on the car in this case.
Try it yourself: drive s long highway trip in the same conditions twice. Once alone and the second time with a passager. Will you see any difference in consumption and range?
@@ItsOnlyElectric it's not just "start and stop" - it is mostly acceleration and deceleration, I agree... And there is no way in the world that you drove such distances with constant speed - traffic congestions, change of lanes, traffic lights, traffic stop signs, a even simple turns etc. And every time you change the speed, you encounter losses. You have a huge error in your judgement, due to such erroneous assumption.
Nevertheless, thank you for your work.
Thank you for an interesting video
Thank you! Hope you enjoyed it
Model Y Performance is not optimized for efficiency, you should have used the Y Long Range AWD instead. The 18'' wheels are allowing for a much better range, while the worst for efficiency are the 20'' on the Performance. I'm just pointing out that this was not the best range test for the Tesla.
Yes, but I didn't pick cars with the longest range. And the real difference between the MYP and the MYLR is very small if driven on same size of wheels.
@@ItsOnlyElectric
So you are saying you drove the performance on 18" wheels?
Because every time you see wheels in the video it sure looks like the 20" performance wheels...
Looking at 0-60 times it seems a bit unfair to take the Tesla performance, since the LR is faster than everyone with the available boost option and without only the polestar is 0,1 faster.
The other cars were not the performance versions, even if they were not the longest ranges, both the MY LR and SR would be more efficient, you picked the worst one out of the 3 possible options.
@timmos184 no, running on Überturbines 21" wheels. Skoda also running on 21", ford on 20".
@@timmos184 Yeah, you are absolutely right. I bet he decided against the MY LR because then the outcome of the test would be a no brainer. Even more impressive that the MYP still managed to be 2nd in range and 1st in picking.
@sarahkonig the Tesla made a great job, with that horsepower and wheel size it's really impressive.
If you look at the cars, I tried to get hold of the performance versions of all cars. And price in the same ball park. Then it shows that some manufacturers don't have versions that's on par with the MYP.
Should add my Kia EV6 AWD to the list with 16,8 kWh since May 2022. Was on Anneau du Rhin racetrack summer 2022 and drove against Alfa-Romeo Stelvio Quadrofoglio Verde with 600 Nm and 510 PS. This car has about the same weight. The Kia brings however 608 Nm and 333 PS and is not slower. Thanks to Albert Biermann the former BMW M Sports division boss for 30 years who was responsible for the Kia drivetrain, mechanical-adaptive suspension etc. only available on Maserati and some AMG models. On a narrow track therefore it would also outperform the others😂
I went 6000 miles across America Tesla model Y no problems charging very simple compared to some other chargers I won't mention yet, simplicity simplicity simplicity
That's the biggest perk of owning a tesla
Tesla bäst. Sen kommer väl koreanskt. 💪
Inte illa gissat.
Wow! Seeing these higher priced EVs struggle to get 400km of range is making me feel really good about my more affordable Chevy Bolt purchase😂.
I'm getting 480km in summer range with probably 64kW net capacity. And I've been on a 410km road trip from Toronto to Montreal and made it. But, much smaller car with single motor.
A lot of rain killed the range a bit. Ams ob tip of that performance leaning cars with AWD and 299hp and above.
I agree. It’s not only about having the biggest battery. The Mustang had the largest battery but still didn’t go very far. Personally I’m a big fan of the Bolt, efficiency takes the trophy. I think next they should do mid-price, average EVs and see how far they go
That's a good test! Maybe small hatch class rear wheel drive. Like MG4, Id3, Megane etc
410 km toronto - Montreal and the rest you gonna walk? Total 550km
@heldermartins1981 haha
Kul video hur som helst. Tack.
Tack själv. 🙂
Great video! Let me know if you want to include a ID.4 GTX in a feature comparing test. I live in Stockholm area and would be happy to provide my car / help driving 😉
Great that you are reaching out. The more the merrier! More tests will come. I let you know in advance. 🙂
EV6 has 7 years warranty, and it has real buttons for your muscle memory to get used to. Latest Tesla doesn't even have a stalk on the steering column.
Yes, the Kia is a fantastic car!
This is where it is so important to have a variety of choices which we are now getting. It drives me crazy now to get behind the wheel of something has buttons and knobs everywhere but totally respect those that choose differently and am glad to see other good EV's coming on the market.
@@ralphpetry1745 be careful what you wish for. Tesla may soon remove buttons in the steering wheel. To turn left [menu -> lighting -> turn signal -> left] 😂
@StuartJ 😂
10 years ago no cars had a large centre console now every car has one. Give it a couple of years and no cars will have indicator stalks. The minimalist get rid of Buttons interior has been going on for years. My 2010 Jaguar XF even had the vents rotate out of the way to not spoil the clean lines.
