Thanks for inviting us to do this comparison, Alex! Next time, we need to redo this video with our Mach E GT Performance and the upcoming EV6 GT ;)
This was really enjoyable! I hope you’ll be doing another one soon, as I learned so much. If the Model Y LR was within a couple grand of these two, which would you pick first, second, etc? Thanks!
I’m bummed the WIND doesn’t have the sunroof and you have to upgrade to GT to get it. Everything else is sweet on EV6.
Yes please!!!! And then the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N when they make one
Hahahahaha, you thinking the Mach E looks better in the front???? It looks like a freaking Ford Eco sport in the front. I know Alex is your friend and that Ford is his, but c'mon man you do reviews for a living. Don't be like CNN and MSNBC feeding people with false information. I know his feelings would be hurt, but honesty is the best policy
Great joint review with two of my favorite auto channels. You both have a great rapport and cover so much information together.
EV6 all day! Kia is killing it
@Anthony Q killing white supremacists
@Anthony Q that's what I want to know killing what I mean it's a sexy ass car but what is a killing
I love it when you two guys collaborate on an episode. Both very professional and genuinely nice folks. Thanks for your opinions and dedication to excellence in Cinematography
Lol cinematography
Coupled with good car like Kia ev 6 etc.
Both cars are cool. I’d go with the Kia though
Looove me ev6!!👍🏿
Your friendship shows. You guys have great on-camera chemistry.
I'd get the Kia. I prefer the more interesting styling, aside from the ducktail rear end, and even that is not terrible. It has plenty of room for four adults, or two and luggage, which is all I need. I don't like unshades panoramic glass roofs, and my partner loves moonroofs that open. But the killer feature for me is the fast charging, as we regularly take road trips. Most are not super long, but would require a few charges, including mid-day ones (like SF to LA would). An 18 minute break for a couple of hundred miles charge is entirely reasonable. We can grab a sandwich, use the restroom, or just stretch our legs. A 40+ minute stopover is much more annoying and would require just waiting around for it to finish.
As long as those 350Kw chargers actually charge close to 350, most reviews I have seen show about 125! That is not good, but overall the EV6 is about the only EV that can pull me away from a Model S or Y in my future so far!
@@msbgone me too. And I bet you the EV6 will be built better.
@@msbgone Just about any car can pull me away from a Tesla - keeping in mind who is the emperor at Tesla! Check out some Rich Rebuild's videos about him and his Tesla cars becoming excommunicated by Musk (plus no free Roadster for heretic like Rich Rebuild! ) LOL
LOVE MY EV6!! ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!😍🤍🥳🥳
Dam. Your right. Buy some food and then charge it for 20 min and eat outside while it’s charging sheeesh I’m getting excited about road trips. I don’t have neither yet. But I can’t wait till I pick one up. Still looking at videos for Everything lmao. I really love the Mach E tho. I love the spacious room and look of the car.
EV6 any day
Wouldn't take Ford even if paid to due to milking "mustang" nameplate on a stupid SUV. Kia at least bothered to come up with original name.
1) EV6 looks better, no question . . . the 'faux Mustang' look is already getting old.
2) F**k the frunk. I'd rather have the room in the back and better efficiency in a smaller vehicle is better than a gimmicky frunk.
3) Love the opening moonroof in the EV6.
4) I prefer the screen set up in the EV6 as well.
Everyone's opinion is different . . . just sayin'.
Agree on all points. The Mach E is trying too hard to be an ugly Tesla.
bu the point in the video is you DON'T get more room in the kia!
the lack of headroom and rear seating space, much smaller cargo and front seating are the exact opposite of what you say.
The EV6 has less room in all seats incl height. I have verified it myself. Also some issues in snow/rain, the side mirror screen(s) popping up in the middle dashboard is just blurry. Perhaps no problem in sunny california but further north - not a usable function. The infotainment in KIA with the icons remind me of my old Mitsubishi Outlander but once you click past them, it looks more modern and fresh. They should have spent som more time there by the software engineers. A fun and good car to drive though but not more fun than Mach E in my opinion.
Why not the frunk Tom, it is super usable !
@@Daniel-xo2on I consider it a gimmick that Tesla started and now it seems that the EV posers have to have that frunk to let everyone know they are driving an EV . . . like in most cases we didn't already know.
. . . I like the CUV format for a EV; give me room in the back, maybe a small frunk for cables and plugs, and I am good!
Yeah, the frunk is a just a piss weak novelty feature for nerds to use as a one-upper when they’re getting outdone in other areas.
Alex and Sofyan in one video, this is the crossover of car-review world we need to see more often. :)
I totally love it
It’s really cool to see them comparing two similar cars together. I like the contrasting views and opinions.
Agreed more comparison collabs
Wonder if Doug would join (crash?) the party…
Great to see two of my favourite reviewers, together! Awesome😁
I believe that the EV6 has a heat pump.... a big plus in cold winter weather climates.
Unfortunately only on AWD models for US market.
For me the Kia would win as I love heated/ventilated seats. Lots of great information as usual from my two favorite presenters.
For the record - the KIA GT is lacking vented and electrically controlled seats, all manual. Preserve weight I was told by the supplier when I asked why not.
@@Daniel-xo2on LOOOOVE MY EV6!! Just got it! Fully controlled seats!🤗🥳🥳
I love the partnership of these two professionals.
Really enjoy the 'dual reviewers' format of this video (like the previous video with Sofyan Bey). Besides the additional interest/novelty, the 2 of you can push out more information in a short period of time.
Excellent review. As others have pointed out, I really like how you both brought great insights to the two cars. Your preferences being different in some cases but you agreed on the specs. Loved it.
Definitely one of my favorite head to head comparisons so far in terms of style and presentation as well as the vehicles. I’d love to see something similar with the EV6 vs. the Ioniq 5.
Just thought the same. The Ioniq 5 would probably be the best choice. Especially since the new 2023 (end of 2022) model is ready to order.
I agree. I think they should have talked about efficiency of each vehicle as well as the warranty differences.
Another great comparison would be Jaguar i-Pace vs Polestar 2, Mach E GT & Xpeng P7..
Great video! I love when you guys collaborate, brings something special to the vid. 😊
Kia for the win! I love the design inside and out, it's quick and sporty, and full of features!!
Great camaraderie in your review, guys! It’s great to see truly modern vehicles to replace the ancient internal combustion engines!
Excellent the video. Sofyan and Alex, you are both amazing together. Excellent presentation. Great comparison and great discussion. Do more videos together please. Thanks
I like your banter style and commenting. You guys work well together in providing smart insights. Nice job.
Awesome video you guys!! You have great interaction. As a Mach E owner this is a prime cross shop car. Excited to see the full GT.
You two have been my favorite reviewers for years and you are good together here - very professional.
i really love the two of yall together! i hope to see more teamups in the future!
You are my two favorite car CZcamsrs and I love when we can have both perspectives in the same video. Great chemistry!
Thank you for making this video, I thoroughly enjoyed watching the conversation you both had.
I would pick Kia EV6. They are focused on making their range better along with their speeds. But overall, Mach E is cool too. Test trove it before and it's fast. I am waiting for Kia to bring out their GT EV6.
This is one of the best reviews I've ever seen. Love the convo guys!
I had an escape back in the day with the keypad entry. It was easily one of the best features on the car. I used it often from leaving my keys in the car to when just running out from the house real quick to grab something out of it. It’s a nice feature on fords. For those who actually use it, for those that leverage it, it’s really quite nice.
Agree. Had an Escape and a Fusion. Used it on both.
I'd use the keypad on my Mariner hybrid but I bought it used and didn't want to pay the dealer $75 to get the code.
Thanks for inviting us to do this comparison, Alex!
This was great! The two best car reviewers on CZcams really getting a chance to share some opinions and bounce off each other.
Thanks, guys! Please consider doing more of these.
love love the collab between my two fav reviewers! Keep it up :)
So cool to see two of my favorite reviewers!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Great review! The two of you work well together for reviews.
Both great contenders. I've tested the Mach E and shortlisted one. Just can't find any AWD models in stock anywhere near where I live. I'll definitely check out the EV6 when it's available for a test drive, and honestly, am favoring it over the Mach E after everything I've seen on it.
How about comparing the charging planning for long drives? That's a big convenience feature. The biggest factors for me, as a potential EV buyer in order of importance are charging speed, charging convenience/consistency, interior space and then cool features like vehicle to load. I could take or leave a big frunk.
I love the collaboration! Two great channels! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Great presentation from both of you. I think you work well together, and I would like to see more.
Thank you both for this collaboration. I’ve watched all the content on both channels and feel good about my Mach-E selection! Alex, what is the brand name of the glass roof sun shade? I’ll be needing one of these.
I wish there was an option to have NO sun/panoramic roof, that's one of the worst trends, honestly - so much complication and a huge compromise for structure/rigidity that for some reason has now to be in EVERY car...
I hate panoramic moonroofs. Enough to avoid cars which require them.
Totally agree, greenhouse effect very bad in summer
Panoramic roof eats up precious headroom.
I ordered a Mach-e GTPE with a steel roof. Unfortunately, that also meant I couldn’t get it with Blue Cruise/360 cameras, but I’m ok with that.
@@10tenman10 I do like them but I hate not being able to have a sun shade. ID4 got this right, they have a non openable panoramic sunroof but a sunshade rolls out and can cover the entire thing. Tesla drivers go through great lengths to deal with the heat in SoCal that comes from the unshadeable pano roof.
Side note...it drives me absolutely nuts to see anyone with a "Luxury" vehicle in Southern California that can't afford or chooses not to tint the windows!!! Tint makes the car look so much better and good window tint will turn even a tin can into a comfy ride in the heat.
It’s interesting you say you never use the ford key code, for me, it’s probably the single thing that keeps me ford loyal!
Oh yeah? You use it that much? Gotta say I am jealous every time I see a ford with the code. I don't surf anymore but man that would have been handy all those years at the beach.
Two people I like and respect as auto reviewers providing two perspectives in one video... sign me up for more.
Watching you guys back and fourth, was like watching a wrestling match. Except I believe you guys did not rehearse but rather went with the flow which worked so well. I like both cars but my model 3 sr+, brings the Tesla supercharger network, reputation, upgrades etc. it’s just an amazing car.
Excellent video as always guys! I love how you guys admit when you don't know something "I'm not sure, I'll call it Mustang red" :)
The dynamic duo. I like it, good job guys. Do it again!
Good to see these two guys together. Great review
Great review guys! This really helped me out. Thanks.
*YOU GUYS ARE GREAT AT EXPLANING EVERY DETAIL. YOU DEFINITELY HAVE A GIFT. I HAVE A TESLA MODEL 3 SO I'M GENUINELY CURIOUS ON OTHER EV OFFERINGS.*
This is the comparison I have been looking for! Thank you!
I really love seeing CZcamsrs share the screen. The next time you guys are at an event I hope we can see more of this, and maybe get a little bit of Sarah-N-tuned in on it too 😎
@@dubiousmike well maybe it won't happen but at the very least I hope the next time the guys are at an event we can see more of this
I love these double team videos. Thanks to Alex and Sofyan.
Like storage on Ford, like interior/features/performance of Kia. Kia for the win.
Absolutely super video. Both of you are great. THANK YOU.
Loved this collab, nice comparison.
Did anyone notice the huge spider in the rear door when they were showing how to open it? lol 11:13
Alex and Sofian head to head
like the super bowl of car reviews! :-P
Great review as always guys! I like how EV is etched out on the brake pedal of the EV6
Both amazing machines
Your intro sounds like the beginning of an educational video that you would watch in like first or second grade and I love it.
Enjoyed seeing the both of you together
MY TWO FAVORITE REVIEWERS TOGETHER!!!! this si amazing! I'll never buy a car without watching Sofyan and/or Alex. PERIOD!
I agree that you 2 guys do a great job together. Great comparison presentation.
Great to see you both in one comparo. I really enjoyed it and you brought up so many informative details that I hadn’t heard or read elsewhere. One question: if you added the Model Y LR to the group, which would you want to drive every day, assuming the Y had similar pricing (within a couple grand of the others )?
Nice comparison and love your videos. Wish Kia makes touring ev - perhaps the Stinger EV, love the sedan like style with a lift back... Crossover are good but suffer more in aerodynamics which start to matter above 35mph.
What a coincidence, I’ve narrowed down my options to the Mach E & EV6. Thanks
Since you commented 1 year ago, I'm interested to hear which one you went with!
@@HowToBeABusinessAnalyst the narrowed list changed unfortunately. Got the ID.5 😁
@@berdugosocials9854 Great! I knew about the ID4 and forthcoming ID7 but I didn't even know about the 5. How do you like it? I ended up buying the Hyundai Ioniq 6 Limited last week and I absolutely love it! Hyundai also had a great deal in January.
We use the front boot (trunk) for walking boots etc. It's actually really handy for grubby kit.
Two of my favorite reviewers together - cool!
Great comparison video! Both cars look like good choices with excellent styling. I decided to take the plunge and buy my first EV last summer. I am very satisfied with my choice. I'd been driving a Prius for many years, and it seemed like a sensible next step. The variety of new models coming out look to be very well designed.
what did you end up going with if you dont mind me asking? im leaning strongly toward going EV for my next car
Love the Collaboration!!!
Great collaboration, Nice Video
love these collaboration reviews!
EV6 by FARRRRRRRRR
Electric vehicle. Maybe yes. But look wise and other factors. Mach e . Both are great tho. Can’t wait to see which one I get. I wouldn’t be mad if I got the ev6 or the Mach e
Great job, both of you! I ordered a Mach e back in September and can’t wait to get it. I’m an older guy and like to buy American. I know it’s made in Mexico. Still lots of support people work in the US.
Love the duo... this is getting popular to have 2 reviewers to bring out different perspectives... motormouth Canada and Throttle house do this well these days. Great job on the comparison!
I got to see both of these cars at the Cincinnati auto show yesterday. I was surprised at how cramped and small the EV6 was. I was expecting it to be more like the Mach E which isn't to bad. I haven't been in a Model Y yet but out of all the Ev's so far the ID4 is the most comfortable for what I'm used to.
I'm just spoiled from driving a Ford C-max for so many years. I feel claustrophobic in cars with a low roof height now. EV tech changes so fast, the Mach E is already obsolete do to slow charging time. I hope they update it someday as it would be my choice to buy still.
Good information and good job guys.
Thanks Sir Nice to see Sofiyan Bey with You .
Great video guys
I love the feel of Tesla's one pedal driving. It works so flawlessly that using the standard brake is silly outside of emergency stops. Chevy Volt and Cmax Energi blended braking is total junk. There is no way to stop truly smoothly in either of those platforms.
The Kia Niro EV has excellent one pedal driving. It's strong and will bring the car to a stop in just the right amount of time at any given speed. They really tuned it properly. Also has plenty of adjustment via paddles and you can hold a paddle for even extra regenerative braking which really works well at times...like coming off a freeway ramp at really high speeds and you need a little extra braking oomph to go to regen.
I have no doubt the EV 6 one pedal driving will be amazing as well.
The ID4s greatest flaw to me is the lack of one pedal driving. What in the hell where they thinking?
@@JonMoralesLA I have an EV6 - great one pedal mode at the touch of the paddle
EV6 all the way.
Excellent comparison. Kia is going to sell every EV6 they can build. Enjoyed the collaboration you guys. Great job.
One year later the government decided who's the winner by stripping Kia from the list of approved EV rebates. I was really in the market for an EV6 but price wise it didn't make sense without the big tax credit.
It still a lot cheaper and better featured over the Mach-e. I see EV6 GT in the low 50k. While the lower end Mach-e are mid 50ks.
These collab of two amazing guys makes my day!…they are the best car reviews and hoping for more to come!…I choose EV6 in this comparison….
I can't believe how amazing this review is.
EV6 Of course honey 💋👍
Great video guys that is a cool feature that the ev6 has the thing where you can plug in something
Ha! You guys fixed the Mach-E vs. EV6 diagram. I saw you used an ID.4 for the EV6 previously :)
Damn. 2 of my channel I love to watch every time. Exciting reviews
Very helpful/informative video as we look to buy either the Mach-E or EV6.
I really wanted to like the EV6 but it’s starting to look cramped inside. I do prefer the in-dash infotainment system to the tablet style. And it looks like EV6 has a better charging experience. Planning to go test drive soon
Did you get your test drive?
I'm sure the Ford has more interior space. I didn't get to test drive it, but drove the EV6. I'm 6'4" and the EV6 is definitely more of a "wrap around" vehicle. But honestly, I liked the feel. Everything was right at hand, it has a more sporty feel without sacrificing comfort. I didn't feel cramped; just nicely "hugged".
It will depend on the exact body proportions though. I have an average length torso with long legs, but some people have much of their height in their torso and so sit higher. A person with a really long torso might find their head too close to the roof, even if they aren't even particularly tall. (I'm going to assume that the truly tall among us, e.g. 6'6" and up, are just going to find the EV6 way too small.)
Good review, BUT surprised by your comments on the center console on the EV6. My wife really liked the space underneath for her handbag. Keep in mind possible utility for guys and gals when reviewing please.
Excellent! Thank you for this.
I looked at both extensively, and the Ford has just a little bit more in areas that were important to me and our lifestyle. Both are very solid options
Sofyan and Alex on one Video 😍😍😍 I love them. My two favorite reviewers.
Sofyan, I had strong opinions about the things you said! But it'll suffice me to say that I preferred the EV6 in basically every way, except maybe the concept of dealer markups which I cannot abide. Anyway.
I've got to say, I really like the idea of a front trunk. For small grocery runs, lucky front facing parking opportunities, and road trips too, that would be nice. I like the idea of a heavier battery and putting the battery on the bottom of the car. It would add extra stability when driving on windy roads. I frequently drive a freeway that is windy enough to blow a Camry around.
I use the frunk in my Model S all the time. I do like it. But it's not a big enough deal for me to choose a car based on having one. Indeed, I wound up ordering an EV6, in spite of the tiny frunk (my LEAF, R.I.P., didn't have _any_ storage up front, and that too wasn't that big of a deal).
Great Collab guys, I've always loved both of your channels.
For a shorter person around 5'3", which seats best support good posture? I often feel like seats push me into a slouched position. It's uncomfortable.
You guys really nailed the differences in the two cars thank you. There can be deal breakers for both vehicles depending on the person but based on my test drives I would and likely will choose the EV6. I just did not enjoy my test drive of the Mach-e though it was the lower spec with 266 hp or so. That slight hesitation in acceleration which is eliminated in most EV's is a deal breaker for me. I also found the Mustang to be a bit uncomfortable with too soft bottom seat and a bit bouncy suspension. Just not pleasant to be in for me. On the plus side it is a great looking car especially in the Space White and Space grey interior though not a fan of the too big looking UI screen.
What the deal maker on the Kia is for me is the many levels of regen at your fingertips without hunting for them and you guys didn't even mention the auto regen function that can still be adjusted as well. I found driving with regen off to be a revelation as the car coasts like having a regular vehicle in neutral and then you can tap a paddle like downshifting an old sports car when needed. Now wishing Kia would add just an extra inch to the roofline and give us wireless Android and it would be perfect. Would love the GT version that is coming out but you can't even find the lower trims around the USA right now with long waiting lists and high markups.
Good to see the EV market providing more options for the consumers.
Yes
Great review. As others have said, really like the two viewpoints here! One more vote for the GT Performance vs. the EV6 GT showdown. Although, when you're already talking sub-5 second 0-60 times, how much more do REGULAR drivers really need? We'll start needing mandatory performance driving school for regular folks. (Not that it's a bad idea ...)
Possibly one of the quickest measures to extend average life expectancy in our country.....but you know how _certain_ people will complain about our freeDuMbs being violated...
They didn’t overstep there boundaries and talk to over each I love it 😍
A plus for the Mach E is the large battery buffers that Ford can dial back in the future to give the owners instant more range. They are probably just getting more metrics for a year or so, not sure what they set for the battery pack warranty.
8 years
I've said it before and I'm going to comment every time Sofyan shares the stage: his presence is a detriment. He has a lot of opinions about everything without one ounce of factual basis. He also is a lot more impressed with himself that I've ever been. So, I'll down vote ever episode he's on.
Nice comparison. I liked the EV6 but it was just too cramped for my 6'4" frame. The Ionic 5 was much more roomy. I ended up purchasing a Mach-e. Thanks for your comparison.
My husband 6’4”. The Mach E is comfortable for you? I’m trying to talk him into going ev for his next car when his lease runs out in January.
@@katiecannon8186 I'm that size with long legs. Yes, it is very comfortable. I've now got 20,000 miles on it, with no issues.
