I have so many questions
Come again?

A quick summary of the series story: Katie and Christie's grandmother was part of a cult that worships the Toby demon and she (their grandmother) sold their first born son in their bloodline to Toby in exchange for wealth. Which is why they can all afford to live in such nice ass houses. She also "married" Christie to the demon (which is why she is dressing Christie up in the veil and says "doesn't she make such a nice bride?") - so when Christie has her first born son, the first son in their bloodline, the baby Hunter, the baby technically belongs to Toby. And this is when the strange ghost stuff starts happening in their house. The maid says the demon can be "passed" to a blood family member - aka Katie, and this is when the events of the first movie take place. But the demon still needs to collect on the pact, which is why possessed Katie breaks in to kidnap the baby. Sometime after that, Katie is apprehended? And because baby Hunter has no parents, he was put up for adoption and ended up with the family from the fourth movie. The blond kid (Odd Robbie) is a different kid Katie kidnapped from a DIFFERENT family off screen. That kid is Hunter, and the fourth film is all about Katie coming to get him back to bring to Toby to fulfill the demon's pack because he is the blood related son

@@loisie1248 it's faster than watching 4 films or watching a 30 minute recap video explaining all of that. most people go into way more detail and that's the fastest way I could think to explain it
Explain how the Mexican family is part of this timeline- it was the fifth movie. Is it just a cash grab or is there actual sense up to the 6th?
@@D44RK_Iced_Yogs as far as I know, the Mexican family fits in because someone in their apartment complex was also part of that cult that the Grandma was a part of. There's a section in the movie where they spy into the next apartment and one day it's an old, wrinkled grandma, and the next day, it's a gorgeous, hot woman - she was sacrificing young virgins to gain back a youthful body. And the teens with their camera went to investigate the crime scene and they took an object from the apartment and accidentally took the curse with them, and they accidentally opened a portal to the older films, because the Toby demon was sacrificing their souls to give the cult power - the last scene of the film is Katy consuming their flesh because Toby guided them through a portal so she could consume their flesh for power
And I believe the film is called "The Marked Ones" because the woman who lived in their apartment complex marked them as targets for sacrifice
They found a way to make being an alcoholic a job props to them

The first one is actually very interesting in terms of how it became a huge hit. Was made for $15,000, was picked up by Paramount and then ended up making $193 million worldwide, making it the most profitable film of all time. I've not seen the sequels but I respect the hell out of the first one for that reason alone.
To be fair, it's a very cool idea. Found footage is automatically spooky because of the more "realistic" aspect, and the effect could be recreated with very little investment. The execution was mediocre, but I feel people go into it expecting it to be shitty because the sequels were, thus bringing it down rather than viewing it objectively as a really neat, if cheesy, indie horror film with a remarkable success story.
it was also filmed in the directors own home so imagine living there.
I miss Micha. Best character in the history of the planet
This is an extremely debatable topic. If you look at it as a ratio of cost of production to its box office turnover then yh paranormal and Blair witch are extremely “profitable” in terms of initial investment but it’s numbers are completely dwarfed by films like ‘Avatar’, ‘avengers’, ‘titanic’

Our cities were built for cars and now cities don’t have the funds or motivation to take on a massive project like this. Many of us live far from our jobs as well so it’s not just public transport IN the city, we need it BETWEEN cities. Love you George

I did not realize ice makers were mainly an American thing. They are a separate section of the freezer, which you connect to the water mains in your house and it just constantly makes ice. They can get very noisy when they empty the ice from the tray. They are mainly used in fridges that have a water dispenser in the door, so it can also dispense ice whenever you want some. They normally also come with a setting to crush the ice upon dispensing. The shapes and sizes of the ice created can vary quite a lot between models as well.
Very informative 👍

Not that it literally matters but the frog "diffuser" in that kid's room is a humidifier. I reckon they don't have them in the UK because it rains so much there, but there are a lot of states in the US that are too dry for it to be healthy, and so people put out humidifiers to increase the humidity (and people put them in kids rooms to help them when they get sick).
We have dehumidifiers because it's so wet all the time here 😅
the uk have humidifiers and diffusers idk how u thought of that
No, we have them as well. Some parts of the UK are quite dry and even in parts that arent, the inside of a decent house will be dry in winter due to a combination of the freezing temperature sucking the water out of the air and the central heating.
My brother had bad breathing problems as a kid and needed a humidifier to keep his throat and lungs from drying out.
I would keep the house quite toasty in winter, so my ex would wake up to a nose bleed it'd be so dry. Got him a humidifier and he had no problems after.
Had a large aquarium and a few smaller in a studio, mold started growing behind them due to humidity making the floors literally wet with puddles around them and shit, got a dehumidifier and that fixed the issue.
Random, but just got reminded of it
@@madisonwillis9591you should just have swapped the air in the 2 places instead of getting both a humidifier and a dehumidifier.

I reckon you should binge watch all of the Madagascar movies with James. Reckon it would be hilarious!!
I once heard something like jumpscares are objectively the worst type of horror because it isn't true horror. Jumpscares are nothing more than a natural response to a sudden loud sound or image. you can't necessarily fight it, unless you have nerves of steel. True horror is something that follows you, that stays with you. In that regard, Paranormal Activity is quite literally the worst horror film series.
technically yeah, but they can be utilised well with build ups to them and such, they should just be used within reason unlike these movies lmao
Yeah. I mean, Jumpscares can be used very well in the tension-release cycle of horror, where you build up and up, then allow a scare which then releases the tension so you can build up again. It's to avoid repetition, you see- people get numb to constant horror so you gotta switch it up, and in that Jumpscares definitely have their place.
But it's like how a fart joke can be part of a good comedy. It should not be the majority of what you have to offer.
yea, by many, jumpscares are considered as a cheap way of getting scares out of audiences through no actual artform - same thing goes with gore and the saw franchise. all creativity was lost when they discovered that they could make coin out of repeatedly tacky gory scares. that's actually one of the reasons why horror films don't get nominated for academy awards - they try too hard to be scary. thats why more people would describe "psychological horrors/thrillers" to be the real form of horror. for example, silence of the lambs, which is utterly terrifying, yet doesn't have a single jumpscare as it focusses on the psychosis of characters (and is also the only horror movie to win the big 5 oscars at the academy awards).
how do i get nerves of steel jump scares do stick with me-

I watched this in the cinema when it first came out as a youngster. After getting off the bus and walking home I was shitting myself at every corner. Thank you George, for just being here for me, when I’m stressed or at my limit, I just watch some George and friends and instantly my stress melts away
I feel he should've watched Paranormal Activity The Marked Ones, it's one of the best I've seen. Lots of action
Exactly
that’s my favorite they NEED to watch it
Exactly! I always seeing some possessed people getting blown away by a shotgun
Is that the one with the Mexican people shooting a the old people
@@MaKo_CRAZ yeah
I have 2 suggestions for We Watch:
Alpha and Omega. There are like 8 films and they’re all awful. It is about badly animated wolves who do various things
Velocipastor. If a shitpost was a full movie it is genuinely amazing it’s so funny
I literally only thought there was one, and as I was watching it I didn't think it was a legitimate thing.
She fine
Wait, there is more than one Alpha and Omega? That was my younger sister’s favorite movie at one time, I had to watch it multiple times on DVD in the back of our minivan on road trips. I’ve only ever seen the first one, I think it had decent animation, I’ve definitely seen worse. Now that you mentioned it though, I do have a memory deep in my brain of seeing a preview for a second movie.
I quite enjoyed the first alpha and omega but the rest were terrible
The first one should've been one movie, ending with them breaking up and Humprhy (shit name) leaving to do whatever the fuck with some crackhead fox terrier who would've been their bodyguard forced into the story to keep it different from being a shitty Romeo and Juliet rip off.
