Dallas is my second favourite team, and Jani was great and fun to watch. I hope he plays with the Leafs, but i dont really see it happening. It was bad
Hopefully Hakanpaa can play he’s a pre solid d man who brings some extra physicality. Also I don’t believe everything Simmons reports…if Elliot or Chris haven’t said anything It makes me doubt his report even more.
What makes insiders like Chris so credible? He said Marner would not be coming back after the playoffs, and yet he's still on the roster. Simmons is a reporter at the end of the day. It's also interesting that Dallas didn't re-sign him. So there's something to this story.
Simmons is a valid reporter. He doesn't play politics with the leafs like sports net and tsn. His reporting reflects that. Its a valid journalistic perspective

I think Tre didn't get bites on a lot of his offers. A lot of people don't want to play in To. This left him scrambling a bit so he took a gamble. Their defense is better but Bert walked. They are better defensively with a new coach and no draft picks for TD. No cup next year.

Whose going to score? Matthew's, marner Tavares and Nylander score 140ish goals annually. That's about 1.7 goals a game. Average is around 3.25 goals to win a game. Whose scoring the other 140-160 goals annually? Complaining about the core four not scoring playoffs games, however what are you winning with 1.7 goals average.

treliving himself quite literally said he signed hakanpää, and simmons has a long track record of either over-exaggerating issues or just flat out making them up to get clicks. he's very open about it.
could it be true? maybe. but it's *also* true that friedman, CJ, seravalli and lebrun said that he signed, and treliving came out and stated he was signed. they all go against what simmons says, and they all have far more legitimacy than simmons does.
Worst case scenario, if the knee is fixable, then fix it & LTIR him for the recovery. The Leafs can afford to wait. If the knee requires replacement, then do that & off to Robidas Island. The player will appreciate it & they have enough depth to cover the loss. He had to have passed a medical assessment at year end according to Burke, so I'm not blaming Tree at this point.
If the Leafs don't care about money why do we have Wes Clark director of amateur scouting what has any of these people really done in the NHL? How about Hayley Wickenheiser??
