    I was born in 1974. 40 minutes from his home. So ya i was like 8 when Oilers were on top. Wayne was my idol then. Now as an adult of 50, i still have nothing but love in my heart for the amount of people he manages to inspire. He is all ❤. Thx Wayne 99 Gretzky.😊

    Is it harder to win The Stanley Cup in 1979 or 2024?

    • @thebigpicture2032
      @thebigpicture2032 Před 13 dny

      One extra series these days so harder to win today. Of course, in 79 you would be wearing less protective padding and facing brutal teams like the Flyers (also known as the Broad Street Bullies) and you would have the Canadiens Dynasty to go through so it’s a close call.
      If you’re asking whether a team from 2024 would win in 79, then yes as the game has evolved for 45 years. Better training, diet, nutrition, sleep monitoring has made for better athletes plus modern equipment is light years ahead. In those days, goalies came out covered in bruises after a game.

    • @September2004
      @September2004 Před měsícem +1

      I don’t think that’s fair because you don’t know for sure he would really scored in that missing game. He probably would’ve have but you can’t give trophies due to ‘probably.’
      Also, what if Marcel Dionne had missed one game and it was a game that he didn’t get any points in anyway?
      I personally think what they should do is get rid of a need for tiebreakers in that situation.
      Some situations you need tie-breakers, like if two teams have the same number of points and are tied for the last playoff spot.
      I just don’t think you need it for Art Ross. Why can’t they be co-winners?
