Let Berube try to mend fences with Robertson.
Robertson's frustration was with Keefe now that he is gone give Berube a chance to work with the player as it is a clean slate.
If after trying & things don't get better than deal him.
But not after letting Berube find him suitable line combos & more playing time.
Players need to know defined roles that they play & Berube is a clear no nonsense communicator.
I believe in Robertson & I want him to succeed as a Leaf.
Time will tell but the organization owes it to themselves to not just give up on him bc as proven with other young players they bc stars elsewhere & the Leafs are left with nothing from it usually.
I like Roberston and he should get a fair shot at making the team...But...
Nick replacing Tyler isn't going to happen.

Nick isn't guite ready to be a two way player needs to be better defensely, he's an offensive player if he can't be that needs to evolve somewhere else

Nick Robertson has asked to be traded and claimed that he will not sign his RFA qualifying offer. His options are slim if he maintains that position but the team also has limited options. The Leafs can essentially end his NHL career, or at the very least put it on hold ...or they can trade him for something useful.
Robertson relenting from his untenable position, or any trade that returns an NHL capable player, are the only two viable options for both player and team.
The reality is the Leafs two star centers combined couldn't hold a candle to many top centers in the league playmaking-wise. Score goals? Sure they can. But playmaking? Not really. If I were Nick Robertson, I'd rather play on a team that had at least one center with an assist/60 rater as good as Kerfoot's.
Think Lanny McDonald and others. Lanny was a late bloomer.
Whoever is advising Robertson is seriously dense.
I think the young man shows skill and speed and should not be given up on too early.
I have always felt that once a player demands a trade, no matter who he is, you trade him - but only on your terms. They should never play for your team again, and never see the inside of your dressing room again. You should never reacquire the player in the future either. Felt that way about Gilmour. When they got him back, I was pissed. Then in his first game back, the hockey Gods agreed with me - career ending injury. Karma.
This works well if you think like a child. This doesn't work so well in the world of men

Never liked Gilmore, Babs career died and ppl think Gilmore is a legend, he is a creep, got traded from St. louis over him creeping on a 13 yr old babysitter. Got so bad the team traded him.

I don’t get the Robertson hate. He never was given a proper chance. He could be a stud. Leafs might’ve fumbled his development.

You guys don't understand! Robertson wants out! He's made that clear. He wants to go to a team where he can play and be on a contender and not a perrenial loser. Berube is over hyped like Babcock was. The 2024 -25 Leaf team is no better (maybe worse) than last year and Treliving is another flake.

I agree this team doesn't have the players to compete for the cup ,looking at the bottom 6 man it's bad and no improvement so far it stays the same long season ahead, maybe they will be fighting for a wild card position

Give him a shot again . He had 13 or 14 goals in the season and he did not play as many games as Bert did. And he o it had 20 or 21 in his 80 games or so.
Covid shut him down,injuries shut him down and the high end forwards got in his way.He needs a real shot.
Tell me who doesn’t suffer from playing consistent. Nick played well when he was allowed to play. Sheldon Keefe was the problem always sending Nick down to play with the Marlies. No wonder he wants to get traded. He’s watching his brother play full time hockey and Nick gets benched. He can’t score goals if he doesn’t play.
