TCW pretty much ignored those two droids, and those were some of their most powerful artillery droids, so it really makes no sense that they weren't in TCW, most especially since the Homing Spider Droid moves about as slowly as those Octuptarra Tri-Droids, that were in The Clone Wars: the movie, and in TCW S7, so the Homing Spider Droid couldn't have been *that* hard to animate.

My guess is not wanting to have both the Octupara and Homing Spider droids occupying the same niche, especially when the former is pretty much a cooler version of the latter.
The lack of the Hailfires is pretty unforgivable though. They're badass!

No plotarmor needed to deal with them. 3rd the republic couldve easily mastered a huge army consisted of recruited citicens or bolster up its planetary defense forces, but Sidious wanted the military to be under his absolute controll. Put one clone against 50 B1. I am definetly betting my Money on the B1s. They in fact were outnumbered by that much. And even worse: In space combat they were outnumbered too and clones had little to no advantage while flying. To the third point. No they could not just mastered a huge army. They wanted that but money and some politicians were a big issue in that process. Besides the fact, that armies like planetary forces need decades to grow. Yeah they could have just builded a droid army but close to all fabricants who build battle droids were building them against the Republic. So they would have needed to build their own factories and they would be forced to design new droids. And while they do that the Cis doubled their droid capacity. I really really like the prequel era and I‘m a big fan of the republic at that time but there is simply no way they would have won that war if george didnt wrote it the way he did.

    There's three that you missed:
The commando droid diplomat basically served as an advanced version of the B1 security droid, guarding important military and political figures.
There's also the flying version of the Octuptarra droid that was introduced in TCW season 7, which otherwise seem to function identically to its grounded cousin.
Lastly there's the OOM series Battle Droids, which are the one's I'm most surprised you missed. They're the visually similar predecessors to the B1s, and unlike the B1s which operated independently were controlled entirely by a single command ship. The droids involved in the Siege of Naboo were all OOMs, not B1s as implied by the video.

It's not perfect, but it had a lot of potential that was squandered by Disney trying to have this show come out while the Sequels were still being made, so had no clear end goal, and then aired it on Sundays at 10pm with a target demographic of 7 year olds. So yeah, while it's the worst Star Wars animated outing since the 80s, I think the deck was stacked against it from the start, so I'm much more lenient in my criticism.

@@tylercat4746 Without a doubt, but say that Resistance came out in place of Bad Batch, they would at least have all three movies to work with, and actually formulate a plan and do more of the work the Sequels never did in making that era more coherent. It's a hard sell, I'm not much of a fan of The Force Awakens' start to the Trilogy, The Last Jedi feels like more of a natural continuation off that but is still stuck in this weird world that was set up from before, and Rise of Skywalker takes everything off the rails, but at least with the broader picture, it's possible a team of writers could make a corresponding show that weaves through them all and makes better sense of what's happening. Season 1 of Resistance does this by starting 6 months before TFA, and we get to see the state of the Galaxy, and some of the First Order's tactics to gain support and power. Hosnian Prime's destruction also carries more weight. Season 2 explores the Galaxy even more and what's at stake, why people would support The First Order while others oppose it, allegiances with the show's cast and other people in the Galaxy that could one day unite to take down the First Order together, not just the Resistance. It seemed like perhaps we would even meet up with the main cast of the Sequels pretty soon, but then it kind of just ended. It had a satisfying Season Finale, but not really a Series Finale. We never got to spend a whole year's time between TLJ and TROS, and having Resistance's finale end at Exegol would actually be pretty neat.
Again, it's not perfect, TROS really throws a wrench in a lot of things, but perhaps there could be some better setup to it in the show had they been able to plan the show after the three movies had come out. A lot of people praise Clone Wars for exploring the politics more than the movies could and recontextualizes a lot of the stuff that wasn't as clear in, or even just cut from the movies to be very narratively satisfying. That could have still been the case with the Sequels in Resistance.

Very great video! I love clear cut videos like this, which mention every specific unit in easily defined sections. Its very neat & tidy. A few things I want to mention:
The unknown vulture droid variant mentioned at 9:23 personally I refer to that type of vulture droid as a “Hunter vulture droid”, since it appears adept at stalking and tracking targets, much in the same way a Hunter tracks their prey.
The dwarf spider droid also can also be equipped with a flamethrower, and a heavier blaster cannon than standard.
Lastly, there are some droids you didn’t mention, such as the LIN demolition mech, imperial infiltrator droid, and the ID-10 seeker droid. Additionally there’s a bunch of in combat support droids that I can think of, such as the PK series working droid & FX series medical assistant droid. However those units are unarmed, and as such shouldn’t be included. They only provide support in battle.

The game also introduced us to the gigantic Loader Droid which was armed with two swinging arms and a flat head that could be used as a batter ram. Also in the Expanded Universe the Empire employed two droid starfighter variants, one being the fully automated TIE Fighter known as the TIE Droid and the other being dubbed and the other being the Shadow Droid which employed surgically implanted organic brains (usually that of grievously wounded, dead or incapacitated TIE pilot aces) rather than an AI CPU. Only thing I have to add is that I think you forgot to mention the B1 also had a sniper variant.

The best Droids in Star Wars (Military):
1- IG-100 Magnaguard, the jedi killer deserves top 1, i mean, a droid that can duel with a jedi, normal troopers couldn't defeat one of them.
2- BX Commando Droid, i don't have a lot to say, they was able to defeat multiple troopers, and in Jedi Survivor, we can see they're really stronger than Purge Troopers in meele combat.
3- DT Sentry Droid, this walking tank is just overpowered, a single unit can handle a battle for a lot of time.
4- Droideka, only granades could take those monsters down.
5- Dark Trooper, those guys are really strong, able to fly and can tank blasters.
6- B2 Super Battle Droid, we all know them.
7- Super Tactical Droid, they was skilled in combat but mainly used for strategy and tactics, deserves a place in the tier list.
8- B1 Battle Droid, they are underrated, they was effective against regular troopers, most because of their numbers.
9- Vulture Droid, well, a ship.
10- KX Security Droid, this imperial droid was really strong, not like a DT but effective as a guard.

This video is missing the Droideka MKII, which was a massive upgrade to the original, with stronger blaster cannons, thicker armor for protection while rolling AND ion cannons. It was produced too late play a role in the Clone Wars. One of their factories was discovered by criminal elements during the civil war and re-enabled, though.
Also, the Phase II Dark Trooper showcased in Empire at War is my favourite imperial droid. It's just a massive stormtrooper triple the size of a man, holding a massive laser cannon usually only seen on tanks and heavy fighters.

There is another BX series commando droid that wasn't seen much or even put into comic issues, the BX2 super commando droid was also produced late in the clone wars, even though 40 units were ready to deploy not much were used before the clone wars end and after the clone wars most of them were put into storage by the empire and some were taken by pirates or smugglers.

For the record, battle droids were really effective. Sure, they are dead meat if near a Jedi, but they almost massacred the Gungans on Naboo. Their versatility made them a good model of droid for numerous reasons, one is that they compose most of the CIS' army. The reason the CIS lost was because of Darth Sidious pulling the strings.
