love Barbra and so much of her is cute, she goes for almost all singing. voice incredible i believe the best. i believe God did bless her throat! agapa, from sherrie
Kind of funny that the theme song of the tone deaf is often performed by singers of the highest level, allowing us to imagine for a nanosecond that we are same kind of human. Barbra is a legend, and I'm so glad to see renewed attention on Mama Cass.

Thank you, thank you and thank you very much for posting these Barbra TV specials. You do not know the joy it gives me to be able to see them again and on the other hand in very good definition. I love all the Barbra eras, but the 70s maybe because in that year I heard her for the first time I LOVE them !!! Thanks. I'm happy. (A pity that CZcams removes some of these tracks. Perhaps due to copyright. But it is a pity not to be able to appreciate the specials in their full form of the art of such a star.
One of my favorite recordings by Barbra Streisand Superman was released in the 70s. Her voice has never sounded so powerful. From rock pop and even a little country Barbra has never sounded so In control of her gift. It was followed by Songbird that has the beautiful Honey. Can I put on your clothes?
She was PHENOMENAL here too bad her fans don’t get when she’s really GENIUS I guess they like gowns posing and California David foster schlock ...this is a MASTERPIECE
From what I've learned this is the 2nd version of Sing since its 1st on Sesame Street in 1971 done sometime around 1972, but still earlier than The Carpenters in 1973. If I'm incorrect about this please someone correct me. It's lie the OG version but with a swing rhythm and in A flat Major instead of B flat Major.
Sorry but Karen’s vocals were ALWAYS layered to give her voice a fuller sound but Karen lacked Barbra’s range, vibrato, control, and support. Her brother did a damn good job producing her songs which were never sung LIVE according to Richard Carpenter.

I don’t believe she was ever better than in this TV Special. Her voice was in it’s prime and her beauty was unique.
Totally agree the duet with Ray Charles was amazing!!!
One of my favorite versions and arrangements of "Sing" and "Make your own...".
That was prime Barbra. Can't get enough
Babs ends on the major 7th and I approve.

She was at her peak in this classic special. Star of stars.
Sing, sing a song
Sing out loud; sing out strong
Sing of good things not bad
Sing of happy not sad
Sing, sing a song
Make it simple to last your whole life long
Don't worry that it's not good enough
For anyone else to hear
Just sing, sing a song
La, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la...
Nobody can tell you
There's only one song worth singing
They may try and sell ya
Cause it hangs 'em up
To see someone like you
You've gotta make your own kind of music
Sing your own special song
Make your own kind of music
Even if nobody else sings along
La, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la...
Sing, sing a song

Excellent….her voice she could just sing any song and her control and performance 🙌❤️❤️❤️❤️
BTW... that is NOT a saw really playing that part of the song. It's a theremin.
Outstanding!
What a magnificent artist!! How musical!
Just AWESOME ❤👍
Love it always have - great special way ahead of its time and underrated
Wow I love this from Barbara

Nonsense. Her fans are the ones who have always known she's genius.
Thank you for this! This is one of my all time favorite TV specials. I just wish I could watch the entire special. 💕🥰💕
Love her talent, makes my soul bright!
Extraordinary 🌟❤️👏🔥
Barbra also sang this on her live Concert at the Forum.
Perfect 😂

Worked on it at ATV Elstree.
Karen Carpenter and Mama Cass 🤭🤩☺️
Cool
♥️‼️
4:09 Was waiting for Fozy Bear to pop out of the tuba.
Even I love Barbra, I do preffer Karen Carpenter's perfomance.

Mama Cass was better at her song.
Yeah... she didn't go up on the "sing you own special song" line... kind of makes the song fall flat.
Mama was overproduced and even then her voice was very average. She was a better eater though.
Can‘t compare them. They have very different styles.
she has beautiful hands.
