Stock Exhaust Manifolds with 2.5 inch crossover pipe into a Flowmaster Super 40 muffler
4 barrel Edelbrock, performer 390 intake.
My last cold start before I pull the engine to convert it to a 390 and install headers

I saw in other comments you switched to glass packs. Nothing wrong with that but the reason seems to be the super 40s wasn’t aggressive enough? Well your right. The ORIGINAL 40s are the original kick ass flowmaster sound. If you had those you may not have switched. Just remember next time the original 40s are the good ones. In my experience they are also more aggressive than the super 44 too although flowmaster says they aren’t. The super 40 and 44 both have delta flow technology which quiets them down. The original 40 does not. So when you ask for flowmaster 40 series at a muffler shop be sure to specify which one. Years ago they put delta flow 40s on my 69 Chevy and I was pissed. They said you asked for 40 series and I said yes but I wanted the real ones lol. The delta flow 40 wasn’t even close to the original 40

Did you like this setup? I want to put supet 40s on my truck to replace the glasspacks. Its all new exhaust after installing the glasspacks i regret it. I have 2 1/4 inch pipes and true duals i hope mine sounds this good when i put them on soon. I already have them
I liked it, I switched to dual cherrybomb glass packs. It wasn't that loud, but I also only had stock manifolds
@@willfrancone3908 i have thrush glasspacks, they sound perfect on my 70 f100 302 and on my 66 dodge coronet 318 but they just sound odd on my 71 360. I have a set of flowmaster super 40s i want to use to switch them. My truck is all original besides dual exhaust.

God i hate flowmaster mufflers
I had a super 40 on it for a while, before the rebuild. It wasn't bad just wasn't very loud. The glass packs give it an old school feel.
