- The Netherlands announced plans to send a Patriot air defence unit to Lithuania, a NATO* ally. The deployment is part of a summer joint air defence exercise, the Dutch Defence Ministry announced. In a press release, the Dutch military said that the exercise, spanning several weeks, aims to bolster air defences along the eastern flank. The goal is to evaluate NATO troops' ability to swiftly transport and deploy air defence systems within a designated area, as per the press release. The heading is misleading, because moving an Air Defense System to Lithuania that has been a NATO member since 2004 (20 years ago) does not mean the country is moving closer to Russia.
This was not the agreement after the fall of the Berlin wall. NATO was not to moved eastward. They destroyed every fibre of the agreement multiple times 😂

NATO weapons are 10 times more expensive and 3times better than Russian weapons but in a war the Russian weapons outlast the nato weapons simply because the Russian weapons are cheaper to maintain and repair than the nato weapons.

on the issue with Finland, the Fins joining NATO ist anyhow not final. As a matter of fact, joining NATO will limit their sovereignity, it has to pass a 2/3 majority in their parliament, which is far from sure. Lets wait for the final decisioin.

NATO is approaching Russia?😂 But that's stupid. Lithuania has been in NATO since 2004, so NATO got closer to Russia 20 years ago. And where will PATRIOT be deployed? On the border with Kaliningrad, which is 227 km long, because Lithuania has a longer border with Belarus, where Vilnius is closer to their border. Patriot cannot shoot down Kinzhal missiles after a 700 km long flight even in Ukraine. What will they shoot at? Against drones? 🤣 So they don't run out of Patriot missiles.

Patriot missile battery is just a missile platform that houses and launches missiles, it's very easy to replace and modify these platforms into a surface to surface missile platform.
