  • Finland’s willingness to join NATO has left Vladimir Putin’s Russia fuming. A Russian lawmaker warned that joining NATO would mean “destruction of their country”. Recently Kremlin warned that Russia would “rebalance the situation” with its own actions if Finland and Sweden join NATO. Opinion polls in Finland reportedly show that the public in the Nordic country now favour joining the alliance.

      The Ukraine war should prove to those near Russia that Russia has done compromising on their security so if they push and Russia attacks they will also be like Ukraine, having to defend themselves while their cities gets destroyed while those who promised to help just give you weapons, its safer being neutral than against, idk why politicians find that hard to understand unless someone is promising something that makes the risk worth it

    neutrality was forced upon Finland by the Russians, that's a well known fact.
    The same goes with Austria, I myself am Austrian.
    The Soviets demanded that Austria becomes neutral to gain independence.
    Neutrality was maybe a good thing decades ago.
    But to ensure our security in Europe, neutrality must be abandoned by all neutral countries that are part of the EU.
    NATO membership and a European army are the next logical steps.
    Europe is a cluster of small countries, alone we're unable to defend ourselves, but together we're heavily equipped.

    So many experts have complained that the U.S. and its allies are to blame for Russia invading Ukraine because the West wanted to add more countries adjacent to Russia to NATO. Those experts need to review history: the Berlin Wall, the subjugation of Eastern Europe, the invasion of Hungary 1956, the invasion of Czechoslovakia 1968, the invasion of Chechnya, the invasion of Crimea, and now the invasion of Ukraine. Countries join NATO to keep belligerent, bullying Russia from rolling tanks into their homelands. The threat to Finland re-emphasizes Russia's brutishness.

The problem is, Russia stated clearly that further NATO expansion would cross their redline, even to the point of brandishing their nuclear arsenals. Putin likely does not have the ground troops to spare right now for a ground invasion, so I think that is unlikely. However, I don't doubt for a second that they wouldn't hesitate to launch a nuclear weapon or several at Finland to make their point. That's what the destruction of country statement is referring to. At some point, Russia will have to start using nuclear weapons, either the big giant ones or the smaller city busting ones, because their threats will not carry any weight otherwise. I don't know if they'd just launch one, or just wipe a country such as Finland off the map by hitting every city. Sadly, I'm almost totally convinced now that one or many European countries will face the devastation of nuclear weapons. If they attempt to counter-strike, Putin could stop that quickly by threatening to launch everything in his arsenel. Yes, I believe he is that insane.

So they could have just dropped out of the war or not fought the germans and been the first nuclear power they were the third because the russians had a high level spy in the american project. Anyway the russians actually dont know what weapons the west has , no one knew about nerve agents the germans invented the Germans assumed the British had them too but we didn't , for all we know we have some secret anti ICBM weapon . no one knew about enigma in fact that only came out publicly in the 1970s

      @MASARU Hamamoto a few years ago, Putin met with a Niinistö and said if he joins nato, arms will be brought to the border and nato will fight till the last finn. During the Northern War, Finland had a strong defensive line. A lot of Russians died fighting on this line. but when they crossed it, they only took the part of the territory they needed. If they had gone further, there would have been fewer soviet losses and many more finns. Do Finns now put themselves in the shoes of Ukrainians? Do they really want to fight?

    • @Aimodesign
      @Aimodesign Před 2 lety +1

      @MASARU Hamamoto Don’t regret our loss, because we don’t regret it. And for the finns, this war has become a tragedy and they don’t like to talk about it. We do not think they are enemies. But the best guarantee of security for Finland is neutrality. Joining NATO, giving up sovereignty, that’s stupid. Comparing yourself to ukrainians is idiotic. Their territory will be occupied by the troops of other states. As in Germany. Who was the biggest protester against the North Stream? The germans, although it is most advantageous to them. Is it their choice? No, they don’t have own opinion. And yes, at least Russia has a military alliance with Belarus. The population of the Soviet Union in 1939 was 170 million. Russian population now 140 million, Belarus 9 million. Plus DPR and LPR about 3 mln. Plus 1.4 million chechens and other nations that you can’t classify as soviet in this context, because at that time they didn’t want to fight on our side, but now they want to. And soon it will be possible to add to this the population of Ukraine. 😃

    • @Aimodesign
      @Aimodesign Před 2 lety +3

      @MASARU Hamamoto If the small country Finlandia thinks it has beat the soviets, why would it call for NATO’s help to defend itself against russians? Well, in Ukraine, russian army is working slowly, trying to protect civilians, because they are ours. But in Finland, it’s different. Sometimes some Ukrainians say that Russians are not Slavs, but Finno-Ugric. 😄 we don't think so 😄

There is an aggressor and an attacked, hence a lot of solidarity with the attacked (I agree with all Americans) and sanctions against the aggressor. But the sanctions affect only Europe because America is independent as energy, Ukrainian civilians on the run are pouring into Europe as it should be seen that they cannot cross the ocean to get to America and few risks on nuclear power seen. that america is far from the war. Unbelievable a Russian official has the gall to tell an independent sovereign nation HOW to decide on how to govern their country with the threat of 'destruction of their country'. No one country has the right to tell another how they should choose to live their lives, how to decide their direction of politics.
    And, Russia says if Finland chooses NATO, what does 'rebalance the situation' exactly mean?? Like they are doing in Ukraine???
