I imagine these hibernating drones would be even cooler if they came a few to a POD that included motion sensor-ish systems. Then have a larger drone drop off these pods near enemy supply routes. When a few trucks or tanks rolled near the motion sensors would active the POD. It would open up and a few of these drones would take off and identify the target. Either communicate back to an operator or using AI and object profiles, decide to attack themselves. Maybe the POD has the AI and comm unit and the drones only talk locally to the POD. Maybe the POD's AI identifies first and makes the decision to attack assigning different drones to different targets or recalling them if the targets are not valid. Then if all POD drones are used, it will then use a full power communication back to HQ to inform the missions success and then detonate. Drop a few of these off behind enemy lines or even have a few of these securely located near your lines so if you have to retreat, the invading enemy has a few surprises for it.
Maybe that's what the Russians are up to next. You know that drones are constantly being improved, and that every next model is somehow better than the previous model? Weapons as weapons are constantly evolving, so why not drones, which are used for military purposes?

The capture was not announced. So even UAVs should self destruct when required.
Operators should have wired controlls from remotecontrol to wireless antena in a building that is away from operators ,personel....
so if signal gets detected, it will show the location of antena, not operators

Some electronic processing unit has low-power modes. This tech is not completely new. This drone probably has two communication devices, one for FPV mode and one for wake-up triggers. To make this possible the secondary communication device must consume very little power while waiting for the wake-up instruction. The device will remain in low power and wait for wake-up instruction which is why they said the drone can remain idle for a month. A month is how long the battery can last during low-power mode.
