  • Niger's PM Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine stated in a Washington Post interview that the military junta cut ties with the US because it threatened sanctions. Niger announced in mid-March that it was ending military cooperation with the US shortly after a delegation left the country
    Niger has been a key base for counter-terrorism operations in West Africa, with a major US drone base near Agadez city. PM Zeine said that Assistant Secretary of State Molly Phee had threatened sanctions if Niger sold its uranium to Iran.

    It's all about USA interests. They were there in Niger to control resources no to fight terrorists. To fight terrorism is the oldest trick in the USA military history.

      Control Resources & Fight Off Terrorists go hand in hand.
      The Resource is Uranium and security and control in necessary.
      China & Russia in Africa is all about their interests. Having Interests and protecting them is no a sinister thing.

      @joemosely9383 Those two things go together if you are a reliable partner but for US they are only interested in what is in our soil so they create and sponsor terrorist in order to loot resources for free.

      @joemosely9383 The differences are that the USA wants to take those resources and if you dessagre the USA will blackmail and sanctions you. It's the USAs way or the hard way. We all know that.

    • @Mbafoula
      @Mbafoula Před 13 dny

      The difference is that the USA arms and finances those terrorists groups indirectly . it creates the terrorism to justify its military presence . If lybia had not been destroyed there wouldn't have been terrorists threats to Niger. Nato is supposed to be about North Atlantic countries so why did they intervene in lybia .
      The USA's interest was never in accordance with that of Niger . the USA invited itself without being called .@@joemosely9383

      Niger uranium is some of the most expensive in the world to extract. Now their only customer, France is free from their contracts and buy much cheaper uranium on the world market.
      ruZZians and Wagnerites will take the bulk of the gold from gold mines minus the cut for the junta leader.
      And no one will help them develop their oil reserves. Especially now. It's not in ruZZian interest. By the way. ruZZian expertise in the oil business is greatly lacking. Thus the reason ruZZia is/was so dependent on western countries.

    I initially supported US in Africa, but we have never left our colonial behavior and that right there is a fundamental flaw in our foreign policies
    We need a complete overhaul in our attitude towards what America should present to the world
    We say one thing and do a 180 on actions and that is the signal of hypocritical, disingenuous behaviors!
    Clean out the state department, they are not functioning for the benefit of our country!

      America has nothing to offer other than building military 🪖 bases.... policing the world. No business or development model. Build a base in your country with a top secret agenda. The only benefit they offer is IMF loans..... they have been on this same shit for over 80 years, from their bases they influenced election to install puppet president for absolute control of resources.
