  • A fight broke out in the Georgian parliament during a debate over the controversial "foreign agents” bill. Georgian lawmakers pushed and shoved each other as the debate heated up. Lawmaker Dimitri Samkharadze from the ruling Georgian Dream party charged at Levan Khabeishvili of the United National Movement. This was after Khabeishvili accused him of orchestrating attacks on opposition supporters. The Georgian parliament voted 84 to 30 to pass the bill, which critics see as a danger to democratic freedoms, in its third and final reading. The legislation now faces a likely veto by Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili, which parliament can override by holding an additional vote on the bill.

America was the first with this law since almost a 100 years ago and it’s even adapted it recently to be harsher. We have similar laws in Western European countries, so why can’t other countries ask for transparency? Isn’t transparency one of the tenets of democracy?

EU countries for now are united, but this will eventually change as the interests of each individual countries change because what is in the interests of a certain country in question might not be in its best interests tomorrow or in year from now. The 'west', namely the US, through its National Endowment for Democracy (look it up), found a playdoll in Georgia long ago. Georgia didn't decide to on a war with Russia on their own. The NED have been heavily involved in all the color revolutions in the former USSR countries. It's not conspiracy. The NED was created to basically be the civilian arm of the CIA. It's how the US sows unrest in countries it wants to see destabilized. Ever heard of Radio Free Europe? That was funded by the CIA and something like a precusor to the NED. This response was really just me taking an opportunity to offer a line of investigation for those curious about the behind-the-scenes of US hegemony. Anyway, from up Canada, have a great day, eh!

It is not shameful, but it is proud to do the same work with such funding, which serves the Georgian national cause along with foreign noble interest. In such a case, the organization proudly declares that, for example, with European funding, it carries out the European interest in Georgia, which at the same time is a Georgian, national affair! It's not the law itself but how it would be politically applied. In Russia, they kept expanding the list of foreign agents to include human rights and healthcare organizations and politically activist such as Aleksei Navalny and his anti-corruption foundation (FBK). We all know what happened to Navalny. On December 25, 2020, Lyubov Sobol, a lawyer for the FBK, was detained and a criminal case was brought against her for trespassing "with the use of violence or a threat to use it", after she rang the doorbell of an agent who was recorded in a conversation with Navalny on how they put a Novichok poison agent into his underwear. Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Current Time (a Russian language network) and television networks and radio stations are also on the list. I may be wrong, but I haven't heard of the U.S. government closing down television and radio stations or poisoning the opposition, let alone shooting them and throwing them out of windows.
