Everton have appointed Marcel Brands as Director of Football, an astute appointment that should go some way to restore confidence in what had been a haphazard approach that yielded good signings like Idrissa Gueye, Jordan Pickford, and Michael Keane, alongside less astute buys like Sandro Ramirez, Davy Klaassen, Cenk Tosun, and Nikola VlaĆĄiÄ- not necessarily bad players, but players who havenât settled or fitted in at the club. Having said that, Andre Gomesâ purchase has raised some eyebrows due to the fee, and while Digne, Richarlison, and Bernard have been successful, Everton still need work in certain areas.
Weâve looked for players under 27 who have racked up more than 800 minutes, so that thereâs a reasonable data set and each player is either entering their peak or is still a prospect.

Been saying it for years, idrissa gueye has to be the most underrated defensive midfielder. Looking at PL defensive stats from the past few seasons he's clearly the best bar Kante.

Finally someone mentions Joakim MĂŠhle! I feel like players in the Belgian and other lower European leagues go under the radar far too often if they havenât made a move to a top 5 league by 21 or so to a club that they can further develop at such as Dortmund, Leipzig, Monaco, Benfica, and clubs of the like.
Spread the word mate. On football Manager the Jupiler Pro League is one of the first I scout every transfer window, there are so many good players in that League, especially in the big teams like Genk or Anderlecht. The same goes for a lot of bigger clubs in smaller Leagues in Europe, look at the talent Dynamo Zagreb is producing and still nobody cares for the club.

I do agree with most picks, but Weiser as a Backup is just silly. Coleman is really consistent and still good enough, Weiser would be expensive and has allready declined offers from Bayern Munich to be Backup. He isnÂŽt interested in playing Backup for GermanyÂŽs biggest Club, he surely wonÂŽt be interested in playing backup for Everton (sry everton supporters).
Also this would be colossal waste of potential, Weiser is talented enough to be first choice for most premier league clubs.

Tim Memmo he played Centre Back for most of season, so he may be the replacement for Zouma, or could fill both roles

@@michaelmccomb2594 That Centre half experience is why i want him because both Mina and Keane like to bring the ball out and he can drop in to the position they vacate meaning we are exposed to the counter as badly. And he's capable of shifting positions in case of injury or red card.

It's quite crazy that you don't see CB and RW as positions that need improving as they lost Zouma who was key to their defense last season and Walcott and Mirallas are their only proper RWs (and no Bernard doesn't play there and Richarlison isn't his best playing as the RW). Not to mention that Coleman is definitely good enough to keep on playing in right back and isn't an area that needs investing in outside of a backup, which Weiser definitely isn't as he didn't even like being a backup in Bayern.
But the RW isnt really a RW at EFC, they come inside and let the RB overlap, so all those players you mention, can play their in this system
@@michaeladamson8109 You are right about having the system with a RW that can cut inside in Everton and given that Silva is looking to sign a left-footed RW that can do it, but Bernard and Richarlison are both right footed LWs and they aren't really at their best playing on the right and aren't the greatest at coming inside from the right, whilst Walcott and Mirallas are just dross.

@@fpldraftden Yes, we have won more Europa League titles than any other team but we are still pretty small in terms of international renown and budget (the most expensive signing of our history was just over 20MâŹ).

Hey lads, big fan of both your videos and your podcast. While itâs certainly interesting to know the raw numbers behind each playerâs performance, you guys donât offer any indication of whether or not those numbers are actually any good, or offer the numbers of players currently at the club for comparison. E.g. Maehleâs 2.26 deep passes or crosses per 90 might be really high or really low but we have no way of knowing without doing research of our own. Other than that really enjoying this series, keep up the good work

I love these videos but you guys should consider more the fact that numbers are not comparable if related to different leagues: IE scoring 14 goals in Ligue 1, premier league, Serie A and Swiss super league is definetely not the same. Taking a guy who scored 14 goals in switzerland and putting him in a premier league team is a little too optimistic.
Very good to know new talents, but realistically I would look to other players to improve a premier league team.

Still beyond me why no one signs Ziyech though. 25m buyout clause and essentially Mahrez all over again, which would be useful.

I still find the fact that Bayern let go of Weiser weird. While he wouldn't fit in today, he was very clearly a very good prospect, the type to go for 60-100 mil in today's inflated market if coached correctly. Can't believe he's still 25 though, I swear he's been a youngster for like a decade now.

Get yourself a Backup Left Back, Cull some of the oldies and build up Fabio Silva as much as possible. Honestly, Porto has a well balanced Team in most areas allready, Fabio Silva has the potential to be the player that can challenge Benfica in the long run.
