PSG have appointed a new manager, Christophe Gaultier, and have announced a new transfer strategy. Gone are the days of “flashy bling-bling”. If this PSG team shape up like previous Gaultier teams, then a different player profile may be needed. So who should PSG bring in?

#PSG #SensibleTransfers - Sport
A well-run PSG side with a clear vision is a scary notion.
You are just referring to Man City’s business model.
@@Pinkugirl Interestingly, I see Manchester as the second best run club in the world. They’ve become profitable, have a good academy, are at least domestically successful and make relatively smart transfer decisions. Even though I’m a dortmund fan, I must place Bayern at the top though
But they're a club without heart hence making it hard for them to achieve that.
@@nilssteinhauer9879 Bayern provides enough Drama over the last years to make Real the best run club.
@@nilssteinhauer9879 While not at the same level in outright numbers, you'd have to put Ajax in the same category for exactly the same reasons
Sensible transfers for PSG now we’re firmly in the realms of fantasy!
🤣🤣 i was literally thinking how sensible is this gonna be ffs
Vitinha and Mukiele are very sensible I think 🤷♂️
Hahaha loved the way you hid Benjamin Mendy in the Monaco line up using waffles.
I never thought I’d see the day where PSG actually do make sensible transfers. Vitinha. Sanches. Mukiele. These, are sensible transfers
Welcome to the Campos Era. So chuffed about what he’s managed to do within a couple months of having the job.
This could only have happened with Leonardo out of the club.
Mukiele with Hakimi as a RB ?
Well, last year was a sensible transfer window: Reinforced the full-backs with experience & youth, improved the defensive with a legend, that had two younger defenders to support him (like Thiago Silva), another legend to make a killer attack, and a hard-working midfielder.
The problem was the execution, both due to the coach and football director.
Mukiele can play as the right CB while Hakimi as RWB. Or hakimi as RM and Mukiele as RB in a 433/4231/442
Never thought I'd see 'sensible' and PSG in the same context
Heheheh
That is exactly what I thought
Lol
🤣🤣
My thought too
Surely the first signing of PSG's new sensible transfer/no bling era must be Ibrahim Sangare.
Alex Stewart’s legacy.
Subtle way of keeping a certain leftback out of the 2017 Monaco side.
Why is that?
Who?
@@ivanvoronov3871 Benjamin mendy
Would love to see Ajax who already sold players and also got some players in but still need some players in key areas (CB, RB).
Ajax, Atletico, Inter Milan will all be interesting ones
Ajax have almost completed their window so I don't know how much Tifo can suggest aside from a RB to replace Mazraoui and a backup defensive midfielder to Alvarez.
"We need a player who makes up for the teams lack of defensive output"
"Our pick is Callum Hudson-Odoi"
He's actually great defensively for a winger. It's the reason Tuchel played him in wingback a lot.
He means the front 3 defensive output. Messi is maybe the worst in the world in this category and Neymar isn't much better either.
@@asterisarabatzis721 Messi somethings does defense work neymar you'll see him pass through half way line mist times mbappe always ready to run so yh we need someone to play over the front 3 position good depth
We've already brought in Hugo Ekitike to fill in that offensive position and with Mukiele coming in to fill the third CB role, all thats left is to get rid of deadwood and bring in a physical midfielder like Sanches.
Lille and Nice under Galtier were scary. Can't imagine what he might be able to do with PSG.
Both Lille and Nice had well balanced squads. Maybe not world-class level players, but still good players and decent alternatives in all areas of the pitch. PSG is many things, but a well balanced squad is not one of them.
@SeanL94 which is why half the fan base is praying we dont renew his contract, he just doesn't fit our system
@@TheNormalJuan that’s why Lille aren’t even in conference league now?he made them balanced
turns out not much (so far)
PSG is going in a different route. Glad to see that
Hopefully we can see them in Sunday league soon. That would be good I think.
"Glad to see that"
Well I'm not
@@danielamselli4980 PSG have been relegated before 🤦🏽♂️ Imagine having all the information in the world and only needing a few seconds to find it, yet you're still wrong.
I'm not. I like seeing them fail.
@@danielamselli4980 the club has been around for like 40 years
I don't understand why PSG should recruit CHO when they have already bought Ekitike and in friendly games they are playing more 3412 with a 9 and false 9 than with wingers. Also in the midfield, they need a more defensive player / box to box with high workrate like Seko Fofana, Brozovic or Höjbjerg. Finally the most important for PSG is the central defenders position : Ramos is injury prone, Danilo isn't a natural defender, Diallo and Kehrer might leave, so they need 1 or 2 central defenders with good notion of playing at 3 in the back and with really good passing abilities to fit in the team, players like Saliba, Skriniar or Gvardiol should be mention. These are the real sensible transfers for PSG.
As a Chelsea fan I think it would be better if CHO does leave and go to PSG. I wouldn't mind it. I really want to see him showcase his talent
Brighton next PLEASE!!! 9th in the prem last season, who are looking to improve that this coming season. Recruitment has been good if not a little underwhelming. Left back cover and defensive midfield are areas of concern.
i think you can find on the athletic
PSG needs sensible tranfer more than any other club in existence today
Barca
Man utd!!
naw chelsea and man u are in there
Everton
I presume Hugo Ekitike will be playing in goal then if Hudson-Odoi is first sub in attack
Our second line of attackers this year will be Ekitike, Kalimuendo or Icardi, and then probably Sarabia
@@ethanparker324 That's weak hope moneycardi get a little goal scoring form
Seeing sensible and PSG in the same video title is crazy.
I love these videos so much, chiefly because Calum Hudson-Odoi would actually be a very sensible transfer for all parties involved, yet no one is talking about it
What about sensible transfer on MILAN? ❤️🖤
So, PSG need a defender, but we recommend a midfielder, Vitinha, who they already signed, and then we move to fowards, where they have the one of the best front 3 (at least individually)
Please do an Ajax sensible transfers. They’re linked with many departures but I’m curious to see what players they can bring in.
Hugo ekitike analysis would have been great if you have had that in the video
Been waiting for this one.
Ima stop you right there. As someone who watches every minute of every chelsea game, CHO having "a tremendous amount of pace" is a flat out lie or massive scouting misjudgment. He is quick but honestly lacks quite a bit of top end speed. His tidy ball control, agile movement, and initial burst can make it seem like he's faster than he actually is. In a full sprint on the break though, he's below average for Prem wingers.
The lad's had a terrible injury recently, when he's fully fit he's explosive
@@hb3393 him being explosive doesn’t necessarily mean he has pace. Like I said, his tidy ball control, agility, and initial burst can all account for explosiveness. But even prior to his multiple achilles tendon injuries he was never really fast
82 pace?
"Fast" doesn't just mean high top speed, especially in football.
Thank you for including CHO. Made me lol.
God I love this series. Cheers boys!
Olise has also represented France at a youth level and apparently speaks good French.
We already got Ekitike
I really enjoy this series
Funny how Hudson-Odoi might be an option in an attack featuring Messi, Mbappe and Neymar, yet might be surplus to one featuring Werner, Pulisic and Sterling...
Look at PSG attacking depth. How did Di Maria who was injured a few times last season played over 2000 minutes
@@polo4064 I am not saying Tifo is wrong for recommending him for PSG. On paper it just doesn't make sense
Everton next please!!!
I see that cheeky way to block the left back position when talking about 2017 Monaco... Very creative.
It's important to note that in Paris metropole live between 500k and 1M Portuguese and decedents and portuguese players brings more merchandise income than players from others backgrounds.
They already had 2, Danilo who is a capable CB too and Nuno Mendes, and this summer came Vitinha and Renato Sanches to the middle of the park.
I would actually love for CHO to go to PSG because I think he's a really great player with a lot of talent and I wish he would get game time at Chelsea but if it means he has to switch clubs then I think he should.
Pellistri could be a good option for PSG, maybe him and another forward or if they keep Icardi. He can play off both wings and is a great dribbler. He wants to play regular football and PSG will use him with so many competitions.
Thank youu TIFO
Sensible and PSG don’t belong in the same sentence 😂
Olise has a £35 million release clause, he'll thrive in a more attacking team. The issue with Palace is having him, Eze, Zaha & Mateta in the same starting 11 and all aren't the greatest at tracking back (Zaha has got a lot better to be fair)
Thank you so much!!!
These wouldn’t be sensible.. PSG have Kalimuendo & Ekitike as attacking options. Would be looking to add a midfielder or CB not any attackers. They have a plethora. Even Sarabia is decent also.
Not sure why Mendy was removed from the graphic for Monaco. He was still in the team despite everything he's done
Hes a nonce
These people are complete neurotics when it comes to signaling. As if showing Mendy would have been some sort of endorsement or tolerance of his behavior
100 cement
The very premise of this video made me chuckle
No. Sensible transfers and PSG can't exist in the same sentence
Beautifully subtle use of a pie on a plate to block a certain uncouth player
The only problem with these is the length. Seriously, I would love to see Joe, JJ, jonh discussing these transfers.
0:55 the plate placement was perfect to cover-up that problematic left back
These guys really think anyone outside England would commit the blind mistake of buying an english player
The change in direction is an interesting one, but it’s not simple to cut the glitter when the players are on such high salaries.
They don't have to be paid less to change their mindset, they need a manager with a plan
Okay sirs I have to take off what I said, thanks for finally making this vid after years
Do Napoli. Great video❤️
Waiting for Sensible Transfers: FC Barcelona. (Gonna be the last one of the series I'm guessing)
I’d love a video like the Liverpool one but for inter. Since we’ve completed most of our transfers imo
2:13 just to make it clear, the players that have to leave in the right order : Herrera, Wijnaldum, Gueye and perhaps Paredes.
Paredes to Juve, Gini to Roma, Gueye to Istanbul
@@seyamrahman6722 it would be amazing to be honest
I feel rangers are a good shout for a video like this. Rangers made it to a europa league final with the most expensive player costing them 7 million. This season they have made some excellent signings this season but could still need a few more to boost squad depth.
Would love to see the relegates sides?? Watford for example. Be nice too see how you think the relegated sides will cope and how too cope
IMO with a back 3 they’ll use Hakimi to his full potential. If I was to buy someone I think Diogo Jota is a profile that might suite them.
It does feel a bit like you forgot Ekitike signing
This is the one episode where I expected the great Ibrahim Sangare to make his 2022 appearance but oh well
Verrati, vitinha, lobotka was needed to rotate that 2 cm role
i think u should make a sensible transfer on the full back or defence positions for barca with all their new attacking acquisitions i am worried about upgrade of same stature in their defence
They'll activate more levers lmaoo
Chelsea don’t want Hudson-Odoi for a reason
Exactly. He has lost any explosive power and struggles to beat a man. Washed up player with terrible attitude
You really need to make one for Napoli!!
Thank you finally
Why not just go for Theo Hernandez, A world class DM, and Frenkie De Jong? Theo would side up that LWB position. Put DJ in the center of a back 3 with the freedom to move forward and break the lines, as he is also a competent defender. And Ndidi would sure up the midfield. A 3-4-3 with those players added could be terrifying
Ndidi would be great yes. I was thinking Kante but Ndidi has many years ahead of him. Is he good enough on the ball though? Maybe SMS can play there, or even Rice.
@@sukhdevr3489 Verratti alongside Ndidi with FDJ in the center of that back 3 would give the center of the pitch plenty of control and defensive solidity. Plus you’d have world class overlapping wingbacks and then Neymar and Messi who could drift centrally and free roam and combine. It would be a terrifying team
@@jordanpowell6194 That would add balance and sense to an already mad team.
I wanted VITINHA at Liverpool. Such a great player
Been waiting for this one, thank you Tifo and Ici C’est Paris
Ici c'est Paris !
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
So with PSG & Barca shedding players atm, will that potentially make 2/3rd tier teams more competitive? I mean other top tier teams won't be in for these players.
To afford even reduced wage demands they would maybe have to shed players themselves, so could we see a small snowball effect for a handful of teams?
Before anyone makes jokes about United & FDJ - we aren't a top tier team anymore, revenue aside, and apart from rumours there was no competition for his signature so it kind of proves my point - although maybe the first round of transfers is wealthier 2/3rd tier, but each player out will probably be taking a wage hit & the club a sales hit, so after a few rounds there could be clubs with players they couldn't normally afford
How do these players elevate their team? CHO and Olise? They need a proper DM.
I would love PSG to get Ridle Baku, he can play anywhere and has great workrate
We're getting Mukiele from Leipzig and Hakimi already occupies the right while Ebimbe can also play there
When will you make the video for Barce?
What about Sensible Transfers on Rangers as their looking for a Left Back and a Central Midfield
The most sensible transfers from PSG at this point have been the staff acquisitions of Gaultier and Campos. Let's see what happens.
Imma need that Leicester video, the only team in the prem to not make a single signing
Olise is a shout n a half, cracking player
Ithink Pablo Sarabia might be what Di Maria was before, but then again he can't play on the left side of the attack, one man who could do a job there is Marcus Thuram
First time seeing sensible and PSG in the same sentence
Herera and Paredes should leave. Idrissa is a beast in the midfield
PSG need a true 6, physical but still technically gifted. They won Mbappe but lost Tchouameni. I think Declan Rice could be an option tho expensive. Höjbjerg would work but isnt that physical. A great 6 like Casemiro or Rodri is rare so shooting at a Prospect is risky
I have been a huge fan of Tifo since before the Athletic took over the team, and I always loved that you didn't shy away from controversial topics and opinions. As a big follower of Russian football, I would love if you could investigate and give us some insight into what is going on at UEFA and CAS concerning the (what I would consider) unfair ability of players to stop their contracts.
i.e. CSKA, the club I support, paid a significant €11 million for Ejuke, signed him to a 4 year deal and now a year of the contract is just off the balance sheets straight into losses as he stopped his contract to join Hertha Berlin (which is coached by former Dynamo Moscow coach Schwartz).
Can you rejuvenate my belief in fair play or is it just politics that are embedded in football and no sportsmanship is left in those who control the sport? Thank you, much love
Can you make sensible transfers for Olympique of Marseille and Lyon
Sarabia will be the player that they will have. He's an international and pre world cup he can value in price even in the bench
My suggestion for PSG would be to buy some players who defend rather than just stand waiting for the ball in the opposition's box for 90 mins.
"a fanbase used to stars are unlikely to be satiated with unknown players that generate little excitement"? Keep in mind we're talking about a fanbase that strongly protested a team full of stars because they were clearly not generating any excitement either. Gana Gueye, one of the least star-status players in the squad, was actually among the few players that received positive feedback as he worked hard and was part of the more exciting aspects of PSG's season. I'm pretty sure those fans are already tired of all the big name stars that arrive to the club just to enjoy some of the Paris fashion and glamour lifestyle and not really putting the effort, and would rather have more "unknown" hungry players looking to prove themselves and compete. That being said, I honestly doubt the "bling bling" era is over. They might do a couple of more "sensible" signings to calm the fans down a bit, but it's still PSG. They'll need those big name stars to sell shirts in USA and China.
PSG has a lot of deadwood to dispose. Players that no longer fit the formation and style of play. Especially when considering the front three of Messi Mbappe Neymar
If their front 3 will contribute nothing to the press or defense, then the remaining 7 outfielders need to be the hardest working players on the planet
Olise is a long shot. Callum-Hudson Odoi wouldn't even make it at Fulham, forget PSG. Worst suggestion ever.
Their new era started when they finally decided to fire Leonardo, terrible sporting director
What luis campos is developing is scary
You should do a 'who should sensibly be transferred out of PSG' instead of this
Arsenal next 🤞🏾. Probably gonna just be tielemans
tifo forgot to mention about defensive players and said that position needs most change bruhh😶
How about a sensible transfer for AC Milan?
PSG : " don't write ANY of this down "
very tactical pastry at 0:54
Do a sensible transfers with Barcelona
I was wondering why the Monaco left back was hidden 🤣
A sensible transfer for Marseille and Ajax would be great
Everton next please?
Good video Tifo, just make sure to run it by Mbappe first
PSG will get rid of Wijnaldum and hopefully kehrer danilo and more , Mukiele is coming and vitinha is very sensible sarabia is a good sub option i dont think they need any more players
