I hope you found this video helpful. Like and sub!
Why didn't you show how to put it back together? That's the hardest part.
Literally my current situation! I'm ready to throw my carpet cleaner in the yard
Idk how to put the red filter back in :(
for the love of god how do you properly replace the sprayer????
I am not sure
nevermind I got it ha
This video was so helpful! Our dog is very old and has accidents fairly frequently, so our carpet cleaner gets a lot of use. It has been very smelly (like, as soon as you turn it on, you want to run and hide), but I watched this video and took the machine apart and cleaned parts that I didn't even realize were dirty! I used the cleaner tonight and there was no smell! I wish there was a way to clean the tank, but cleaning the rest made a huge difference. Thank you!
Thanks so much
Hi, cleaning the tank is pretty simple; just open the drain tab and immerse in hot soapy water. Shake it all around so all compartments inside the tank are reached, then rinse and let air-dry.
Have a hoover power dash, had been running horribly! Watched the video, cleaned the little red filter I did not know was there, and my cleaner is like new! THANK YOU!!!
Your so welcome
Your video was so helpful, thorough and the step by step instruction was perfect. I love how this machine cleans the carpet, but cleaning the machine after every shampoo is a major pain!!đ
Yea many carpet cleaners are hard to clean. Thanks so much I'm glad you found the video helpful
I just put it in an inch of water in the bathtub and turn it on so it sucks ip all the clean water quickly. It clears out any crap stuck
@@NicolesMinnesotaOrganics good idea!
â@@NicolesMinnesotaOrganics how without getting motor wet?
Thanks for the vid I was about to throw out the vacuum, because it wasn't working properly! đ
Thank you. It's hard to believe Hoover didn't make dirty water tank so it can be disassembled for easy cleaning inside, those nudniks! But I love how this little machine makes my carpets look!
Yea. It cleans well but is hard to clean itself. I would try the Bissell TurboClean PowerBrush Pet next time.
Wow đł|âąthank & Ă ppreciate thiis video...
That little spot where the rubber door opens is recessed, so you can't get that last bit out. It's driving me nuts. Short drive as my husband says.
Why didn't I watch this before I tried cleaning it. I removed the plastic part that u washed in the sink and now that i tried putting it back together I can't get the removable plastic part, the one that attaches to the black drain won't stay on.
It's been years since I needed to use my machine and I have since gotten a water softener system. Needless to say my machine needs some cleaning out! I was going to buy brand new...but now will give deep cleaning a try first! Thank you so much for this video!!
Thanks! It works perfectly now. I appreciate that you got right down to the nitty gritty and just showed us what to do. I get frustrated with the videos that go on forever instead of just getting to the point. You rock!
I can't stand videos that go on forever either so I'm glad you enjoyed it
I've been racking my brain trying everything I knew to do but it still won't suction !! So I decided to look online and I clicked your video and I'm definitely going to try it out. So, thanks đ
Glad I could help!
how do i put the black rubber nozzle back on for the front
Yes! I also have problems trying to clean my dirty water tank too!! Whoever designed this little machine SURE WAS NOT THINKIN ON HIS PART!! It is a Pain!! But I do love the little thingđ€·ââïžđ Just wish it came apart easier!! Thank you so the videođ
Your welcome. I stopped using mine because how difficult it is to maintain and clean
The team that designed it was undoubtedly the sex that hardly ever has to clean anything.
Get rid of that worthless water-dribbler strip, and pre-spray carpet spots with hot solution using a pump-up garden sprayer. Much more targeting, and you could even use a professional encapsulating cleaning concentrate. @@VacMaster1991
Very informative & thorough! Thank you!!
Your welcome
How do you get the red filter cup back into the machine? We took ours out to clean it, but can't get it back in with the rubber gasket. :(
The rubber gasket sticks out a bit. That's normal. It simply drops down in place
Thank you!! Do you think you could help me? Inside my dirty water tank, the tube somehow became loose and shakes around inside the tank. Of course I can not open the tank but do you think itâs possible to fix or should I just replace the tank. Thank you kindly!!
Ok I will try it and see. Thanks for responding also!
I finally know for sure how to remove the spray portion of the cleaner. Thanks so mch
Your so welcome
I have one of these it works and does its job but motor witt rev up and then kinda go normal repeatedly. i cleaned everything and greased the brush bar. i cant figure out how to get to the motor i have no idea how they expect someone to replace parts aside from the ones seen taken off today
Sounds like an electrical fault. I would contact hoover. If that gets no where see if you can return it.
Is there a way to clean the water sprayer without taking it apart? I've cleaned everything else and mine seems to not let out as much water as it did before
It unfortunately requires taking it apart to get in to the water sprayer
Ya limpie la vacum y no trabaja la conexto y no que sera gracias por contestar
Does anyone know how to get the dirty water tank apart to clean it? I don't see a way to open it and I don't want to break it, it's frail as hell on the back.
It doesn't come apart at all.
Mine is overheating is there any solution for that?
THANK YOU for this video.
I was able to repair my machine â€ïž
I'm so glad the video helped
Should I not hose off the bottom of my hoover after every use? Is it better to wait for the hoover to dry and wipe it down with a cloth and some cleaner?
Nevermind I just passed the part where he said "Do not pour water over here, that's the motor, you WILL destroy it" đđ
Crap, I destroyed my hoover. It still suctions it just makes a noise like there's rocks being mixed around inside the motor compartment.
Can you show how to put the filter back in? I canât put the mesh/filter back! Help please
It just sticks back in. Nothing else to it
Thank you for the complete breakdown
Your welcome
Not complete
Thanks for posting! My belt needs to be changed and I had no idea how to do it!
Glad I could help!
Thank you very much turns out when I followed your instructions I found out my belt broke, thank you very much I was confused
Glad it helped
Thank you so much đ this was exactly what I was looking for today.
Glad you liked it
I would love to see you put it back together because I'm stuck now. Frustrating. Thank you.
Which part?
@@VacMaster1991 Thank you for your quick response. After 45 minutes, I was finally able to get all the parts back together, but the worse part was the tough clear suction strip that had to be firmly tugged on just to get out to clean. As hard as it was to get out, it was equally as difficult to put back in. Hoover we even have a better product if cleaning the machine was easier. With two dogs...You can just imagine the amount of hair that came out of my area rug even after I vacuumed twice with my Dyson before using the Hoover.
How do you put the water sprayer back in..canât seem to get it back in
At 4:23 you remove the plastic part but how do you put it back in? I'm having problem putting it back in. Thank you.
It's very tricky. You can wiggle and push until it goes back in.
Would it be alright to just flip it under the sink like you did and just rinse it with soap and water instead of taking it all apart? Seems like a pain to remove everything
I would recommend taking it apart
This is one of the best how to videos I have seen and itâs how to clean a vacuum. Lol. But seriously, great job!
Thanks so very much. I try to make them great. I have many maintenance videos out there.
Love the video but I was watching and hoping you would show how you put it back together. I'm having trouble with the 2 clear plastic pieces where the soap goes through.
Me too! Specifically where you hook the water hose back up to that clear piece that runs along the front of the head of the shampooer and then snaps into each side of the head. Literally been stuck at that part for 2 days trying to get it put back together
Spring came out in power pedal, what can I do to continue to power it on?? Pls help
The only thing you can do is completely disassemble the machine and put the spring back in
Can you do a step by step video on how to replace the red filter on the back under the water tank. I tried to get assistance from hoover but they didn't help, only said that piece is not supposed to come out and they may have to just send me a new unit
Watch at 1:02 it's super easy just pull up on it
Im having the same problem i went to clean it out but it say its not to remove it but how do i get it back in do i wait for it to cool down and then put it back on
How do you put the main nozzle back on...mine wnt snap back in
Push more. It can sometimes be really difficult
Mine wonât turn on and I think itâs because the tank you put the soap in is not sealed properly. Idk how to fix it.
It turns on without the tank. Try multiple outlets. Check the cord for damage
Do you have a video for fixing this cleaner if it stopped working completely?? I plug it in and nothing happens when I turn it on. I don't have the money to fix or replace!!!
If you were using it a while it may have overheated. Check if the cord is damaged. If it still doesn't work. Then I would contact Hoover.
My brush roll itself wonât spin. Any fixes or just replace it? (Or switch to the other machine you recommend as I hate cleaning this thing.)
Try replacing the belt
My vax is Excatly same as this but Iv took it apart like u said and the brush is still not spinning and feels hard to spin by hand too is this the motor thatâs the issue now x
One of the sealed bearing in the end of the roller is rusting and needs to be cleaned and greased. I just finished regreasing one of mind. First, you need to hammer out the axle with a punch. The rubber seal on the bad bearing can be peeled off, and using WD-40, work in into the bearing by turning it back and forth and get it to move. Once it is freed up and rotates freely, spinning it awhile and then clean it as best you can and then pack good grease into it. Yes, it is a small bearing. Push the seal back on. Then you will need to hammer the roller back together. It should now spin freely and can be reinstalled.
i got no power. Nothing. RED step 'POWER' switch depresses but does not turn 'ON'... worked the last time i used it. 6-7mos ago...?
Oh nice. Contact Hoover for warranty.
Helllp, so my vacuum is spinning fine. It has suction but it is not spraying. I cleaned out the parts you showed for the sprayer. Iâm hoping itâs not something more internal
There is a black cap on the bottom of the clean water tank. Press the small button inside. Water should come out
Thank you! great video đđđ
So, my cleaner isn't sucking up the dirty water. Do you know what the problem could be? Thanks!
A lose tank lid. Tank not seated properly. Nozzle not in place correctly. Nozzle clogged. Other stuff
What if the motor just completely stops working? What do I do then?
Contact hoover support.
Mine won't spray the clean water and it's like new but used . Is there a way fix this issue?
Not sure. Sounds like you got a lemon or a damaged one
Any videos on how to change the belt can't find one anywhere this machine is frustrating
It's in this video
How can I get it to suction Iâve done everything have done in this video itâs just not suctioning the water
Make sure all the tanks and nozzles are locked in place correctly. Check if the little red filter is clogged
My problem was the little red vent thing it caught so much dog hair it was like entirely full which concerns me because I vacuum everytime before I use this đ€
Carpet cleaners will find dirt vacuums miss. I recommend vacuuming like crazy before carpet cleaning.
Thank you! This is just what I needed. đđŸ
Glad I could help
01:57 Is there a hose or some other part that runs from the dispensing tank to sprayer that could be clogged and preventing my machine from dispensing? I have gone though the troubleshooting guide and thoroughly cleaned the machine as you demonstrated. Every time I turn it on to test sprayer it is dirty again under the plastic cover and behind the brush. Looks like the same pet hair and dirt that I originally cleaned outđ„Č
Are you running it on carpet? If so I would thoroughly vacuum the area your running it in. If not you will just be getting the machine full of hair again
I took the plastic cover where the brush sits how do I get that back on?
You mean the clear piece that covers the brush. If so. That is not supposed to come off.
@@VacMaster1991 oh.....oopsđ
Thank you for this! Do you think you could do a video on how to fix a stuck power button?
I would try prying it up gently with a screwdriver.
Is there a video of how to put the Hoover power dash pet carpet cleaner back together?
Search and find one if you can.
Also do you have video putting it together again?
How to put it back together
When I tried to pull the tiny red filter out, the rubber black part came off. I cannot for the life of me figure out how it goes back on, to fit back in the hole đ
I'm not sure either. It should have a groove which fits in the plastic socket
Can you tell me how to remove gunk buildup out of the emptying tank????
The tank doesn't come apart. Try pouring water and dish soap in there until it's clean
I took mine apart exactly the way you showed on this video however now I can't turn it on. Red on button is not springing the way it did. What do I do?
Did you remove the red button
I'm having same issue,pls help
Great video, very informative. The only reason that I can come up with, that hoover would design their machine like this, is that they intend for it to be disposable, very disappointing, because it does a decent job, is light weight and economical
Yea. I hate how hard it is to clean. Equivalent Bissells are easier
Mines wonât start belt is okay everything is good just clicks no power at all
I took it apart and cleaned it like you did but after I put it back together and turned it on it's loud. How do I fix that?
It's not loud. I would make sure the belt is on properly
Very nice and thorough! Thanks đđŒ
Glad it was helpful!
I took the little orang filter out to clean but can not figure out how to fit back in with gasket? Looked closely at yours still not getting it right? Help
Not sure why it won't go back in.
@@VacMaster1991 I canât figure out which way the black rubber goes back on it. Lol. I have suction at nozzle but no water coming into tank. Iâve cleaned all parts. I think itâs this orange filter not being in properly đź
@@DaRkHoRsE-_- it clicks in place. Try pressing try pressing it in.
Okay but, the manual shows that you only add a small amount of soap. I find that I run out of soap really quickly and the rest is just water.
An easy way of cleaning the brush roller area and the bottom is by using a can of compressed air. Spray the air into the brush roller area and it'll be clean in no time.
Yea. A lot of dirt goes on wet so it requires water and soap to clean
Iâve taken my machine apart and tried to clean it. Some thing is wrong because the water intake spout will not snap back on
It takes a lot of force to put back on.
I am thankful for this video because it wasnât sucking up the water. But Iâm gonna try this out
Ok great hope it works

my powerdash will not dispense water. How do I troubleshoot that?
Make sure the little valve at the bottom of the clean water tank isn't stuck. I would contact hoover. They will know best
How do you snap the piece of plastic back on where the water flows through correctly?đ
It clicks in place. Hard though

It took me hours to take it apart and clean it n it put back together! After doing that I was sore as heck

Mine went out after a couple months. All of a sudden it got loud and I smelt a burning smell. The BELT IS NOT THE PROBLEM. I have took the whole
Thing apart and cleaned and checked everything . The motor it must be
I would recommend getting a Bissell.
Itâs impossible to get the plastic covering over the brush back on
It's difficult but you should be able to get it
My carpet cleaner was just spraying but wouldn't suck up the water. I took it apart after watching your video and now it's scrubbing really well but it's still not sucking the water. So now I have a clean carpet soaked with water and no way to get it up. I hope it doesn't do any damage. I am using fans and open windows to dry it. This is only my 2nd time using this carpet cleaner.
I have the same issue. I already cleaned it before even watching the video so idk what the issue is. Will have to keep searching.
@@momentsformoms9467 Mine was working well, great suction but now not great. I always clean it well after using so Im thinking it is the black rubber hosing around the red mesh plug or the hosing where the suction nozzle attaches to the machine.
How do I put the red filter back in?
It just pushes back in
Great video! Is there a way to remove the clear, top roller cover? Cleaning is a major pain and removing that would make cleaning easier.
No. It doesn't come off. I stopped using mine because of how hard it is to clean

Sadly I'm not sure how it goes back on
@@VacMaster1991 appreciate the quick reply. This has to be the worst vac I have ever had to repair. Works great when there isn't any problems however. It seems as if the gasket just needs finessed back over the intake, however doing so is definitley quite the challenge. Appreciate your time!
@@ashlands1423 How long have you had it. Where did you buy it?
@@VacMaster1991 around 8 months. Got it from Kohls I do believe. I ordered the seal off of eBay for a couple of bucks. I however did just get the gasket back on.
