No Jones hasn’t messed up. It’s the number 1 franchise in sports. Mission accomplished. Dominating the coverage and hasn’t won the Super Bowl since the 90s. If he was serious about that trophy cabinet he would have let Jimmy Johnson carry on until he fell off like Belicheck even if he couldn’t stand him. That team would have won more Aikman said and he was right and I’m not a cowboys fan neither.

John Elway was one of the greatest QB's of all time. Period. But for the first decade plus, he had Dan Reeves as his head coach and GM. Dan Marino, never had that supporting cast after the first 2 years of his career. Having 7 or 8 pro bowlers on the team is all well and good, but you need the rest of the supporting cast. Jerry gathers players, Bill B built "Teams" around his QB.
The question that needs to be asked is, why does everyone keep talking about the Cowboys? They haven't been relevant for decades. Why does the media keep talking about them?
Jerry may have been a HoF Owner in his 35 year tenure; however, he would have EASILY been fired as an NFL GM at least 6 times in that same period of time. This is based on his performance, objective evidence of his performance.

Jerry had a conversation with his head coach when their season ran aground. I heard that when Jerry not very nicely asked him how much more talent the man required to win him a championship that the coach took it personally. By that i mean he found his voice and told jerry squarely he had the team he needed to do the job. Im hearing Dak backed his head coach and that it was known right then and there that should the team finish with anything less than a championship that they should both be free to test free agency. It made its way through the rank and file as a all or nothing gentlemens agreement and that forces were already positioned to jettison the core of the team at that time. Didnt hear it myself. But the amount of people it requires to run a stadium that supports an NFL team is in the hundreds. From groundskeepers to electricians, drivers, security, maintenance and food and beverage.. not all charged conversations take place in the privacy of an office. When powerful men are mad, they want you to know it. JJ and the other JJ were notorious for testing stadium accoustics. Sometimes drunk at 3a. Imagine having a stadium.. what a pompous @$$ you'd be.lol.
