The question was does Tua "deserve" to be the highest paid QB. The answer is NO! Just like all the guys before him who shouldn't have been the highest paid, including Rodgers, they will still probably acquiesce and get close. It all started with Watson and the madness continues. Its not hard as the standard is Mahomes right now and then you work your way down from there!
THE ACTUAL QUESTION IS "SHOULD DOLPHINS MAKE TUA HIGHEST PAID QB?" WITH THERE BEING A THING CALLED A SALARY CAP AND IT GOES ANYWHERE BUT DOWN. SIMPLE ANSWER WOULD BE YES THIS IS MIA BEST FIT AT QB SO WHY GAMBLE ON THE FUTURE OR FREE AGENCY BECAUSE SOME LOW-LEVEL FRANCHISE WILL ALWAYS SHELL OUT KURT COUSINS CONTRACTS FOR LESSER TALENT.

It's not a Tua problem though, that's a Miami problem. Dan Marino is probably the most talented QB of all time (yes including Mahomes) but go look up his record in the cold. It's abysmal as well. That's just a Miami thing, the same way we excel in Hot weather conditions and teams like the Bills do not.

It’s horrible but it’s the reality especially when it comes to QBs. Realistically there’s only 10 QBs that are franchise QBs. If you don’t have a top 10 QB, you’re going to almost certainly not be in the playoff hunt. So because of that you need to pay them because you don’t have a backup. You can lose any other position and the impact of that loss won’t be as much as a franchise QB

Dak had the type of talent that Tua has now in he's 2nd year were as Tua had to not only wait til year 3 he ALSO had to overcome a potentially career ending injury while ALSO playing behind one of the weakest offensive line in the NFL. Tua’s not a bad QB, Shady bringing up his success prior to McDaniels when Coach Flo didn’t want him there and our offense had absolutely no weapons. As a Dolphins fan my only gripe is our postseason success and against better teams especially. I feel like in a lot of those situations McDaniels was also getting out coached as well. The team as a whole needs to make the next step but Tua is definitely the biggest factor for us to win.

People keep acting like you "win with mobile qb's" the last 5 Super Bowl winning quarterbacks- Patrick Mahomes, Matthew Stafford, Tom Brady, Nick Foles, and Peyton Manning. The only one of those who could be classified as a mobile qb was Patrick Mahomes, and he is an excellent pocket passer as well. Also, it doesn't matter that Brock Purdy was "Mr Irrelevant". The scouts obviously got their evaluation wrong just like Tom Brady was taken in the 6th round. You aren't finding Tua's replacement in the 6th or 7th round.

Need to get Tua paid whatever it is to get him extended so they can get Waddle, Phillips, and Holland extended. Those are 3 core players and Tua’s contract extension will go a long way in freeing up the cap room to extend those players. Sometimes one contract can get done to benefit the team in terms other ways.

Shady was off on things dogging on Tua for his first two seasons, which Tua still had a winning record and close to playoffs. Tua didn't ball out because first, his rookie season he should've been red shirt. He was still healing from his serious hip injury. His throwing didn't seem to come to form until his third season. The offensive line was horrible Tua's first two seasons, it was ranked near last his second season. They had no rbs. PS guys basically. He had parker and nobody his rookie season which parker spent most of his time on IR anyway. His rookie season he had Waddle but that's hit because parker never could stay healthy. Horrible o line still, no run game and a coach that didn't support him at all. It was something people were waiting to see if and when Tua actually had some protection, some wrs and an actual run game and coach that will work with him And look what happens, he actually gets talent and he goes off

Burrow was sacked 51 times in 2021 (superbowl appearance) and 41 in 2022 (AFC championship appearance). Burrow only played in three extra games then Tua did in both of those seasons.
Tua gets no offensive line excuse because he rarely gets sacked.
