I love the bit near the the end where he does the tiny, "Eh?!" Played it to my son the other day and he was creased up with laughter and was singing it all day.
For anyone that may be interested, because I could not find this information anywhere on the net but just happen to know the answer already, the answer to the question " Who Killed Bambi " ? in "The Great Rock And Roll Swindle " is, James Aubrey. This was the same actor who played Ralph in the 1963 film "the Lord Of The Flies" and played Gavin Sorenson in the controversial 1976 TV series " Bouquet Of Barbed Wire". James died in 2010 of pancreatic cancer.
Gentle pretty thing Who only had one spring You bravely faced the world Ready for anything I'm happy that you lived For your life is mine What have I except to cry Spirit never die Birds of the air Beasts of the earth Overjoyed at Bambi's birth they gambolled in the glade Who killed Bambi? Who killed Bambi? Who killed Bambi? Who killed Bambi? Who killed Bambi? Who killed Bambi? Who killed Bambi? Who killed Bambi? Who killed Bambi? Murder murder murder Someone should be angry The crime of the century Who shot little Bambi Never trust a hippie Or a fucking poseur I'll kill to find the killer In that rock n roll army All the spikey punkers Believers in the ruins With one big shout They all cry out Who killed Bambi? When I was a young lad me and a couple of other lads used to sing this at work just to piss the old foreman off. After a few minutes a hammer would come flying through the air.
Gentle, pretty thing, Who only had ONE spring! You bravely faced the world, Ready for anything! I'm happy that you lived, And your life is mine. What I have, except to cry, SPIRIT NEVER DIE!
Love the soundtrack, and have for decades ... so how is it that I have never watched the movie? Heck, I even read / own the Michael Moorcock tie-in novel, featuring Jerry Cornelius!
All these years I thought he was saying "..rock-n-roll library...". I even explained to my kids that there was such a thing as a "Rock-n-roll" library - "Just listen to this song" I used to say... Now I have to try and explain that it was all a mistake!
Some say Jonathan Richman invented Punk single-handedly with the song "Roadrunner". The Brits turned the whole thing into a kind of comedy / fashion act and tried to convince the kids in America that indeed they, the Brits invented Punk. The title "Who killed Bambi" was the title of a Russ Meyer film project about punk rock that failed to materialize.
Back when we had songs which actually meant something - singing about stuff we could actually relate to because it spoke to us about the reality of our lives. Kids today just listen to meaningless nonsense.

Took this craziness to the Crystal Maze....& loved him for it. He was just as wild but a gentleman when I met him. ❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶

hard to explain Bud but it's all jumbled up in the UK punk scene despite Ed Tudorpole being somehow linked to the Royalty from centuries before
@@as3cs3 I’m 30 now and more confused.

The line at 1:22 sounds like "ace fucking pikey's lead us in the raid"
