No, it most definitely is not, unless you're extremely dedicated to hold off on actual conversation for the sake of learning. Most people will always go the path of least resistance and communicate in whatever languages both partners are fluent in already. And it's unlikely to get together with someone you can't communicate with in the first place.
Case in point: Neither me nor my partner are anywhere near able to speak each other's languages after 4 years, because we communicate in a foreign language we both speak very well: English. Sure, I know a few swearwords and basic phrases in hers now, but that's not "learning a language". And it looks to me like Oriental Pearl's partner hasn't exactly become fluent in English either - because, of course, they will most likely use Japanese everyday.

I am interacting with Japanese people... Tommy and also my roommates in other videos. After putting up videos for a year, I know that there are very few people interested in actual interactions even with strangers on the street. The overwhelming majority of people just want to see funny faces “Omg you know Chinese/Japanese”. That’s it.
@@OrientalPearl At the start that was interesting and fun to see(Asian shock) but we now know you well enough, and it is your ability to ask questions and talk with people which you do very well that is also a good watch.

The little village/town did give a spooky vibe when it started raining LOL. Kind of a similar feeling with what a English medieval village during rainfall would feel like I could imagine. I guess old village architecture gives kind of a unique "isolating" energy 😹 very beautiful though!
